The story and events can be very dark at times, if that's something you never like in any context then I don't recommend the game. Besides all your progress is saved and you have to live with the consequences of your choices and actions, mosf of the time losing a match doesn't matter much but losing during some specific ones may have serious consequences. You have luck points working as extra lives but it's possible to die, not directly as a result of a regular match (where one of your evowok might permanently die though) but for other reasons linked to events or quests.

Events often imply skills, skill checks and checking which evowok(s) you're currently traveling with. As a typical example and I'll try not to spoiler any other thing bandits won't bother you if you're travelling with a big (nothing to do with their level or combat efficiency, just big from what I can tell) evowok.

During fights you can target body parts with the goal to reduce specific opponents' attributes. Afflictions as well as specific efficiencies (it's not exactly fire vs ice, more like spiked shells you don't want to hurt your paws unto, being able to target it with lightning sure will be better if you can) are well thought. Anyway being well prepared for a specific match is generally the important part, as once it started there's often not much you can do to revert the odds. One feature of the game is that you're stronger against an evowok you already managed to catch and have identified, which makes it very important to try to catch every type of evowok you can. Note that you can't simply grind your way through the game as you can't challenge evowoks too much weaker than your current one.

Finally the game is very long, both because the world is huge and you really won't be able to rush through it. First you'll spend your time meeting trainers you currently can't beat (or challenge at all), will need to backtrack and take notes of what each trainer proposes to figure out whenever you'll be able to fight them with success. You're going to spend a lot of time turning around looking to find a right evowok you might need or want through random encounters, because you can catch a same evowok with no attack skill at all or another time with a very good attack skill it's also very proficient at. Finally you will also probably have to grind for money, even more if you lose ante matches and/or can't manage to increase your renown so that you can challenge characters to higher ante matches. 

I don't love everything, unlocking further parts of the world is more expensive than I'd prefer,  unlike in Pokemon I wouldn't really say they're proper dungeons in the game and overall interaction with the world via skills and items which is a strength of Pokemon isn't as good here (although the skill checks during events are cool).

In the end if you hate any dark event or can't bear any form of grinding then you will likely not like the game but overall I think it's a masterpiece and then otherwise I think you might give it a try, I'd say especially if you like hard games.

Action-adventure with lots of puzzles and areas to explore.  

The puzzles can be hard, but thankfully, a detailed walkthrough comes with the download.  

The walkthrough also becomes handy when you get lost among all the rooms.   

It's a time-consuming game. For me, over 30 hours passed even though I skipped some side quests.

I've been playing this game on and off since its release. It's a really fun way to spend some time - there's a lot to do, but the game is up to you - what you're going to do - or not do. (A lot of that is cut off by the screenshot). In a nutshell, you plant and sell mushrooms, you convert them into other products including wine, you sent and adventurer to get more special mushrooms. Sometimes you must not harvest a mushroom...

It's the perfect game to de-stress and just have a little fun.

In this game you race up to 30 other real players (+ 1 bot, but he is completely lost) on tons of various levels - the majority created by the big dedicated playerbase in an awesome level-editor. I already play this game since over a year (on Steam) and it is pretty easy to learn but very hard to master and never boring, even after playing it for more than 1000 hours like me. You compete with real people of various skill all the time and you need to be very good at the game to collect many wins. Every race is a tough competition! You can practice all races in the time-trial mode that also has a global-leaderboard of the 25 best players worldwide. This game is just awesome and already has a dedicated playerbase that you can meet in the Winterpixel-Discord. It is truly a hidden gem that will entertain you for many hours if you like to compete online with the very best goobers of the world!

I'd highly recommend giving this game a go. I'd say it can be anywhere up to 1-hour of gametime, depending on your playstyle, your self-exploration, whether you die by the poop being thrown (oops), or whatever it may be.

These 3 games are very funny, a mix of very absurd humour and dark comedy. As you play you really get attached to the heroine and her rat, want to discover where all this is going and just as the other characters you're going to meet they're delightfully silly. I also think the reasonable world size, length and puzzles as well as the interface the games are built for which will help you be aware of what you can interact with mean they're a decent introduction if you've never played a parser-based interactive fiction but have been intrigued by this type of game. Some of the more involved puzzles are quite fun to solve too.

All the 3 games are well worth playing in my opinion. Note that the other similar games I played by the same author were too.

I just loved it, it's a tower defense, where you control a train that move around the tower you have to defend. You can control only the speed of the train. After each wave of enemies, you can upgrade your train with more wagons and stronger weapons on it.

Sad that there are only 15 waves however, I won the first time I played, but still interesting and fun.

This game looks absolutely incredible; I am totally obsessed with it. There's something about it...maybe it reminds you of other point and click games that you've played. I'm really charmed by its presentation and intrigued as to where it's going. I think people that are into the genre would like it. Wouldn't you agree ? 

Another game also currently in development would be Herald of the Mists which boasts an incredible demo full of atmosphere and possible outcomes. It really broadens the scope of my imagination, it's a very unique feeling that anyone can feel with the ambient music, the writing and its graphic interface. It is incredible! I feel like an armadillo when I play it, or I guess a sandshrew pokemon would be a better comparison (since we're gamers). But I think you will also enjoy the unique experience this game has to offer.

This is a surprisingly good sports management game. You are owner of a basketball team and have to pick the right coach and players to advance in the game, your goal is to have your team become Elite League champions.  

You start with little money in the Minor League, and try to build a team good enough to be promoted to the Major League. Next step is the Elite League, which requires better and more expensive players.

The coaches to be hired have different strategies, so choose one you are comfortable with, and sign players that can work well together.  

The matches are simulated (you won't see any images of the players in action), but you can sway the outcome by changing the intensity of how the team plays or substituting players while the matches are in progress.

The "Void Directive" is a psychological,  experimental puzzle horror game, where you must diagnose problems regarding The Black Core in an abandoned space station. Work out how to operate miscellaneous machines, diagnose faults or hallucinations and report back to The Company.
