How does your game fit the theme?
You have to use your time before the storm--the calm phase--to fend off a storm (assault) featuring various storm-themed enemies.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I drew all the art from scratch.
Code was mostly done by me except for KidsCanCode's multitarget camera.
SFX was pulled from freesound.org or generated on sfxr.me. (No AI; just random sound sliders). Music was mostly done by me expect for the main menu music, which was done by ACL_Engineering.
Fonts were from public domain bundles.
Full credits can be found in the game description.

Wow I made it kinda far but crushed myself with a block in the calm phase. I liked the game tho it is fun and a cool combination of ideas and even tho the art style is a bit "basic" it has a good kind of arcadey vibe so good job! Maybe would be better with more blocks and rotating but obviously time was limited so well done regardless.
This was a lot of fun. It's fits the theme really well and I enjoyed making my rickety structure to try and protect the dude. I like that you get power ups too every 5 waves, was nice to get more health for my blocks. I lost a couple runs immediately, but on my third try I made it to wave 13, those black clouds really start causing some havoc. Great job on this I enjoyed playing it!
Quite a lot of fun. The inability to rotate blocks actually led to a bit more strategy and dangerously rickety constructions, so I think it was the right design choice!
I killed myself with my own construction hahaha. Really fun game :)
Really inventive take on the theme. The graphical style is a bit crude at times but it works. I loved the progression of enemies as the game went on.
I made it to wave 9 before my house was brought down.
A really good game, i love tetris so not being able to rotate blocks is a bit of a downside, but other then this its fun which is the most important i wish gameplay changed at some point as it gets repetative but thats fine for a jam game.
8/10 :>
The game is pretty unique and funny, a good twist to tetris, good job!
Interesting Tetris game
Very interesting idea. Love the concept :)
Man, that is awesome and has a lot of potential!!! I love it! I just think that it does not perfectly fit with the jam theme, but it's okay
A very fun game with its own atmosphere!
Well done, it's a fun game, but I feel like you have to spam the constructions as fast as possible to place as many as you can. Maybe having a limited number of pieces instead of a timer would make the calm phase truly calm
loved the custom Godot loading screen at the start!
Honestly I kinda felt bad when drawing that Godot startup screen because Godot is an exceptional game engine. Then again at the end of the day it's just an image lol
Thanks for playing!
A well-made game! Had fun playing it. Fun graphics as well
This is a really cool and fun concept! It would be super nice to have like a skip button so the enemies can come right away but overall this is super creative and I had way more fun than I thought I would lol
I survived for 8 waves. Wow, I really liked this one. How the tetris blocks looked, the unique physics when the enemies would come, and the unique way after each wave it would determine which blocks should still be there. Even the ability to have powerups and upgrades to choose from. I think it's really well made!
A suggestion is in the options, to be able to move the block faster in the calm phase by selecting an option for 2x, 3x speed etc. (though this might mean the timer has to go faster too) and a fast forward button on each wave that enables the phase to go faster.
I think you did a really nice job on this game!
Awesome game! You would think that the calm before the storm was before the attackers arrived but it was the opposite reaction for me. Put down the blocks as fast as you can and calmly watch them destroy what you made. The progression is good, wish I could have used upgrades more often, maybe I wasn't very good and only got to wave 11. Impressed with how fast you made this!
Never thought of the gameplay loop like that, where the calming part was after the storm lol. Thanks for playing :)
It was very good, it can be replayed many times :D . I wish new enemies were coming sooner.
This is a very good game! Bravo!!!
This is the single greatest game I have ever played from a game jam. It is addicting! I reached wave 23. The single complaint I have is that there are too little upgrades. Maybe if you could upgrade every 5 waves it would be better.
Thanks for the feedback!
You can already upgrade every 5 waves, but yeah I probably should have spent a bit more time on the upgrades themselves. Glad you enjoyed it!
I noticed that when you get to wave 10 it starts upgrading every 10 waves. Maybe it's a bug? Still, it doesnt ruin the fun. Good game!
I’ll check that out as soon as possible. Can’t do much about updating the game, but I can see if it’s there so I can patch it post-jam. Thanks for the feedback!
Sorry for the late response, but I went back and played up until Wave 24. The game gave me an upgrade every 5 waves; one on Wave 5, one on 10, one on 15, and one on 20 (I died one wave short of 25).
Yeah, I don't see any bugs there (unless there's some oddly specific method that triggers it). Thanks for reaching out, though.
hmm.. I think it might have been a problem from my end. I was mid game when I lost my connection to my internet and I kept playing. Maybe something to do with that delayed the upgrades? I will make sure to play again and make sure of this thing 👍
