Loved the concept and it got quite addicting. The breaking news were unecessary in my opinion but other than that I liked it, well done!
That was way more fun than it had any right to be - well done!
so fun to a buy as many stocks as possible at 1 cent then have it shoot up to $100 a stock and go through the roof! i wish you could see the time left after the line goes over. still really awesome and full of chaotic silliness
I thought the news cycle-based take on the stonks mechanic was pretty fun. Being able to buy the dip hard and then hold until some hype blew the price back up felt really fun. One can imagine adding shop mechanic to allow you to buy/sell in multiples or to get insider info on the news before it breaks. Fun little jam sim on its own tough!
I really like this game! It is so satisfying when you profit! I didn't understand the breaking news part (I also think it covered a lot of the screen). Other than that great job!
pretty fun game dude/girl, keep it up !
This was fun. Reminds me of some old school text games I used to play. Would be nice to have a physical timer as opposed to the the song finishing. Not knowing how long the song is to begin with is the unknown. Also, there needs to be a way to mass buy/sell. Individual clicks got tiresome. Maybe have a x10 and x100 button, or allow it to progressively add more if you hold the mouse button down. Aside from that, great entry!
Got this far, but was done clicking...
Great job! At one point Cotton was down to a few pennies and I bought hundreds of shares and when it eventually got a good news report I made tens of thousands. I think I would've made millions if I could've just held down the mouse button (instead of clicking as fast as I could) -- so that might be something nice to add. I really like the music!
A really great game, very simple but also very fun. It felt a bit too fast and chaotic for me, but make numbers go big just makes my brain happy. ^^
A simple but such a fun game! Not gonna lie, I didn't think I was gonna love a game about stock that much. I got 16166,17$, no idea if I did well or not x) A leaderboard would be an amazing upgrade to your game! But really, it's a superb work, especially since you did it all by yourself. Congrats!
This game is so much fun to play! I don’t know anything about stocks, but I still really enjoyed it. My favorite parts are the news updates and the funny descriptions — the fact that swiss cheese kept getting more holes made me so much money!!!.
In my best run, I bought 124 shares of cheese when it was under 1 euro, and it eventually skyrocketed to over 500 … so ...
Overall, it’s a hilarious and super entertaining game. Great job!
Well today I learned C#/Unity changes the currency based on the player's location! Had no idea it could change to euros and use comma formatting!
I was surprised to not see any games like this, it was one of the first places my mind went. And your execution was better than anything I had in mind! Very clever news flashes, intuitive ui, and application of risk. Would love if the scale of the graph changed when your investments get too big for it. I bought a ton of stock in the cheese company when it was a few cents and once it shot up I didn't see the line again haha Would also be cool to see a separate line for each company to see how my investments are comparing to them. In fact, making the game multiplayer and seeing how your investments compare to your opponents would be cool too. Very good job!
That was great. I liked the news popups, and the stress of the constantly changing prices. I made a killing in lumber and ducks. Good luck in the jam!
Goofy game with great theming! I started low and was taking a while to get rolling, and then the duck stock dropped to no money, I bought a lot, I lost a lot, and then my equity went directly through the roof! It was a bit easy is kinda what I'm saying (maybe not having the stocks spike so majorly and also having a bit more of that risk/reward element?), and the news broadcasts constantly popping up obscured the stock legend. Of course, sound effects would've been nice. Overall though,I had a good time trading some silly stocks!
That was surprisingly chaotic and fun!
Probably one of my top game this jam, nice work! i really enjoyed it
Haha fun game! And it fits well with the theme! I absolutely didn't think of this, but it's clear that trading is exactly what the theme was about ^^!
The game is simple but polished, I loved the ambiance. Congratulations!
As a fellow trading man, I can say this is very accurate to real trading these days, just instead of news it would be twitter:) Overall a really simple and well executed idea. I loved it
Made tons of money :) Really fun little game! It might be even better if there were more things to spend money on like in a shop of some kind!
This game proves I should not invest!
