With the animations and art it felt a little like "Transistor" and I love it.
Looks like a full game, not a gamejam entry.
Thank you so much!! Yeah the art was Massively inspired by Transistor, Pyre & Hades (Basically the Supergiant Games' artstlye XD) mixed with a bit of character design style from Hyper Light. All credits go towards Clive, our game's Illustrator for doing such an incredible job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well, I`m a HUGE fan of SuperGiant games so I immediatelly recognized that.
As for Hyper Light, I did not play it but I saw now the trailer for Hyper Light Breaker and indeed the style and color scheme is similar.
This is so well put together, i am a huge fan of these types of games. I would have liked it if you could click with the mouse to control the direction of the attack. Besides that the game is very nice visually, and gameplay is very well done.
Thank you ✨! Originally the game was supposed to control similar to Hyper Light Drifter but I wanted to try out an alternate control scheme for this game (aiming with movement keys)
Defo will experiment with mouse to control the direction of attacks in my future games!
Thanks for checking it out!
I really do like hitting the space bar to "Reject Fate". Just something about that is quite satisfying.
For me, the controls are awkward, but I know I can chalk that down to being used to mouse and keyboard, not just keyboard. Still, they are simple enough I could get used to it. If you expand on this game, I reocmmend slowly adding more keyboard actions over time for more options (If you ever plan to expand on the game and do that) to help newbs like me better grasp what to do. I just do not have the muscle memory haha
(Of course, you do not have to do that for me, but perhaps others casual gamers feel the same or could tweak my thoughts on this more.
story is 5 stars for sure!
No worries, Thanks for checking out the game!
There's actually W,A,S,D + Left Click support in the game, I just didn't want to clutter up the instructions page so I didn't write them in (should've written them in regardless but hey, better late than never I guess XD)
I've updated the page to include the alternative control layout, feel free to try it out. It does still take some getting used to but I hope it feels a bit better!
This game is really well done. The game page looks nice and from the moment the game starts I could tell it had been really well polished. You've nailed the "game feel" here, everything is so smooth.
It's fun to play, plenty to do, nice variation between the enemies and the upgrades.
All I can say is congrats on the successful jam!
Thanks mate, congrats on your game too! It was quite enjoyable, feel free let me know whenever you made an updated version!
Cheers! And of course! 😁
I don't have anything to add to what others said, it's just that good
Thank you ✨!
The gameplay was very polished, the graphics were a bit too bright for me, but overall it's really good, good job!
Thank you! I know it's probably like a flashbang to dark mode users XD (Including me), Originally wanted to add an alternate dark mode but that would need a ton of work to implement so... flashbang it is XD
This is straight up incredible! This is so polished it feels like a released game. In a way it feels kind of like hyper light drifter. I think this might be in the top ten of the jam easy.
Thank you for for trying it out!
MASSIVE inspirations from Hyper Light Drifter & Hades XD, defo some of my favorite games of all time
When I first entered the MENU I was given GOOSEBUMPS by the amount of polish you can see right out of the box. The music is an absolute jive, the sound effects are the perfect kind of simple, the gameplay is incredibly captivating, the lore is intriguing, and don't even get me started on the artstyle. In my eyes so far, this deserves at least top 5 games in the jam! Of course, I haven't played that many games, but WOW, congratulations on this beautiful title!
Thank you so much! I spent quite a while polishing the game XD, finished the gameplay part early so I got tons of time to just polish things here & there. Glad you enjoyed it ;)
SO SO GOOD. I audibly gasped and said wow on numerous occasions. The entire project has such a fantastic theme, coherent design style and very fun gameplay, not to mention the music is outrageous! It is hard, but I wanted to keep going just to see what the next set of upgrades and character portraits were going to be! Fantastic job all around
Hello, Thanks for trying out our game!
The game is indeed, incredibly challenging XD. I've had tons of skill issues trying to complete my own game. There's 5 characters & the upgrades synergizes between most of the abilities so feel free to experiment with different builds! You got this.
Really impressively done for only 10 days! I specially like the overall art style/direction!
Thank you!
I was also pretty surprised on what we've managed to make in 10 days, feels unreal honestly!
This is freaking phenomenal. I can't wrap my head around how you got it so incredibly polished in 10 days, I'm blown away at the beauty and artistry of this game. Magnificent presentation, easily the most impressive game I've played in this jam so far. Well done!!!
Thank you!!!
As how we got this polished in 10 days, I basically just no-lifed the gamedev process for 10 days straight (defo very unhealthy, but had waaay to much fun developing this game)
Tons of shortcuts were taken, if you notice there's very minimal animation in our game (most enemies only have 6 frames of animation). Also it's just a very simple game in general, I designed the game mechanics early & just let the game be the game I guess.
Thanks for playing ;)
Crazy amount of polish here. I can't believe you made all that art in 10 days, extremely impressive. I kept thinking there's no way there's more enemy types, and then another one would appear. Very satisfying attack and dash mechanics. You could honestly put some more time into this and release it as a full game. Fantastic work!
Having another member who's an Illustrator defo helped with this, by A LOT XD. Honestly couldn't make it without him. I can just fully focus on developing the game while he takes care of the art stuff.
I spent quite a while figuring out how to create interesting enemy types with minimal time and I was quite surprised on how simple behaviors could make pretty interesting enemies.
Planning to take a bit more time to polish it & release it on android, thanks for taking the time to try out our game!
The polish wow. And the juice of each attack. Absolutely loved it
Spent quite a while making sure each attack feels s a t i s f y i n g, Hyper Light Drifter was defo a huge inspiration for this! Thanks for playing!
This is an absolutely absurdly polished game and looks absolutely fantastic. AMAZING JOB
THANK YOU!!!
