How does your game fit the theme?
In the game youre a mage using 3 essential spells all done by drawing a closed loop onscreen + some level design elements are loopy and when failing you loop back to the beginning :,)

Really neat concept! I loved that you have more than one type of loop ability, this will be awesome when you continue to flesh this our post jam! As for me the 3D platforming was difficult for me, and as others have suggested the crossing over the loop may be a good idea for difficulty management. Overall a really solid concept and cant wait to see it complete! Kudos for doing it solo! (following you for updates!)

Thanks for the feedback! (I'll try to expand on this game :D )

Hey, the art, looks, & gameplay idea are already very solid. Really want you to continue improving this concept. Difficulty adjustment maybe the hardest one, coz you got the platformer and mouse input things going on, its already hard defeating the first enemy, but that's just me LOL. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks!

very cute! it was really hard to actually execute a loop, maybe crossing over the path should count as well as meeting the end?

Developer

Thank you!

how did you get isometric view to work in four days that must have been soo hard!!

i wish mana regenerated faster that would have been great

Developer (1 edit)

The isometric cam was an easier parts of the project (made in the unity game engine), everything else took quite a bit more work :´)
Thanks for the feedback anyways (:

really you must be mage then beacuse trying to do that felt like sorcery to me!

Love the concept and art style!

Thanks!

The controls were a bit challenging, but I really liked the style and execution — definitely something I’d love to learn from!

Developer

Glad you liked it, thanks for the feedback!

Really cool idea but very hard game. Art is beautiful

Developer

Thank you very much! Better playability is my next goal :'D

Wow, nice game. But very hard.

Developer

Thanks!

Very unique idea. I love the concept of the different kind of spells. And like lots of comments are saying definitely increase the amount of mana you have and maybe instead of you're mana going doing when you're drawing it should be the size of the loop you have drawn. Overall a very great game!

Developer

This sounds interesting, like the spell-loop being like a trail? Could work too. Thanks for the feedback!

The Basic Idea is good, but there is a lot, that needs to be polished. It's easy to fall of the narrow diagonal platforms with the keyboard, because you have to press two keys at the exact same time to walk diagonally. Drawing a circle also feels a bit tricky, maybe because you have to hit the exact starting point. Either the  speed of mana regeneration or the maximum mana should be increased, as you spend too many seconds waiting to do the next attack.

Developer

Thanks for the honest feedback!

I liked the upgrade shop in the end of a level. The mana stat feels a little unpolished to me, if I was you I would try to remove mana as bar that reloads and try mana charges. You start the level with 5 points of mana, one spell costs 1 mana, stronger spells cost 2 for example. While traversing levels you find orbs that reload mana points. And in the shop you can buy more base mana or reduce costs of spells. That way you dont have to wait unti your mana refreshes after having missed your spell, or drew for too long!

Developer(+1)

Mana charges sound like a great idea to make the player have more of a strategic approach instead of just waiting in a corner till the mana reloads... (and seems quite easy to implement too!) Thanks for the great feedback!

Cool idea! I liked the theme and the art a lot

Thanks!

super creative game but in the second level I could not find out how to get to the end :3

7.75/10

Developer(+1)

That's unfortunate, levels 1 and 2 are completable, level 3 isn't, but I hoped you liked the bits you could play, thanks!

Awesome game, a really unique entry! I really liked the style and world, although sometimes performing spells could feel slow since I have to stand still to do the loop perfectly because it doesn't have a big margin of error, although that's probably my skill issue too.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It's not your skills, but the system thats lacking, i struggle with it quite a bit too lol

Would be difficult to solve, but wish if the line formed any enclosed shape that the spell would activate. Basically not requiring the player to return to the exact same spot, but allowing any knot shape to work. It would just reduce the precision needed to cast a spell.
Nice work making shape size = spell power though.

Developer(+1)

Was my original plan, but I was/am not skilled enough yet to implement that effectively :') Thanks for the feedback!

Great game ! I quite liked the concept and the execution, i fell out of the map tho idk if it was just me, but overall great job :)

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the feedback! You don't seem to be the only one falling through. Did it happen in the "illusion" bits of the map, or did it happen somewhere else too?

(+2)

Good concept and pretty decent execution, just going to add that some of the platform edges could be fine tuned since falling through the map was a pretty common occurrence at least to me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback!

I really like the concept and use of optical illusions level design but not only is the mana drain to harsh but also a lot of the gameplay is just me standing still because the enemies can't aim. I can't say I had a whole ton of fun with it but I think the art and audio are solid and I do really like the creativity just think the execution could be better.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the honest feedback, it helps very much!

Submitted(+2)

Fun game, took me a while to find my way around, but once I did I very much enjoyed it. Love the visuals!

As others said, I think the mana drain is to hard/recovery time to little. I also had some problems with the loops being recogniced.

But still good job!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!!

Submitted(+3)

It took me an awfully long time to see the spell switching tuto lol, AND I WAS IN FULL SCREEN. Let me tell you i did not had a rgeat time lol. But once i found out my mistakes, i pretty enjoyed it lol. (the optical illusions broke my eyes and my brain but thats alright :'D )

The loops coulb be a bit reworked but it's enough for a jam lol great job

Developer

Thanks for the feedback bruv!
