I thought this was a very fun game! It's a really unique mechanic and it was nicely implemented :D
Thank you so much!! We're very glad you enjoyed it.
Very cool concept! I like putting all enemy and player cards in one slot to see what happens lol. Pretty fun :)
We're glad you had fun! Thanks for playing.
I saw a few games that use dice rolls to control combat but allowing the player to distribute attacks is new and refreshing. The gameplay is easy to understand but could be surprisingly complex. Great job!
That means a lot! Thanks!
Unique idea, I found it pretty interesting! However, I would often glitch the game and it wouldn't let me roll. A way to manipulate the probability would also be cool. Other than that, I loved the art style. Great work!
Thanks! I'm aware of some issues with that, will post an update with a fix after the jam. We were thinking about having different types of dice e.g. some that are more likely to land on even numbers, double the effects of cards, etc
Lovely presentation. Didn't quite understand the mechanic, though. I mean, yeah, I can map different abilities to different faces, but considering I can't manipulate the faces' weights, every face is equal. Perhaps the idea is that I put heal spells after enemy attacks? Or try to chunk in loads of damage in a single die so the enemy can't recover easily in a single turn? It's just... these choices don't feel that intuitive to me. I'm probably missing something.
We plan to mess around with this a bit more post-jam so criticism like this is super valuable. Thanks for taking the time to review!
I love how you can play this game in different ways (with more than one strategy)! Also loved the music and art.
We really appreciate the review! Thanks for playing!
The concept is too well found and it brings different strategies depending on the player. The cards look a little weird when they snap to the lines but other than that the design is cool and minimalistic, the music is good too
Making the line-snapping better is on our fix-list for any work we do on this after the jam. Thanks for playing!
Very cool concept! liked the art and the music too.
Thanks! The music was by Kim Lightyear (https://pixabay.com/users/lightyeartraxx-26697863/), we didn't make it ourselves!
This is so cooool! :o
I love the idea, the execution AND the presentation! It's so much fun to try and build your rolls. You can put all opponent's attacks on the same roll to try to minimize the chances of being hit, but if it rolls more than one this round... Ouch. Heals are also a tricky action: do you use it to nullify and ennemy attack, or to regenerate?
The game already requires you to carefully think about your organization and has great strategy gimmick, and yet still has a lot of room left if you were to add more effects!
Only problem I see is the font size and color (black text on red background is difficult to read, especially when the card is not zoomed in, because of my colourblindness :c).
But apart from that, there's nothing to say.
Excellent submission! =D
Thank you for such a lovely in-depth review! I'm sorry you struggled to read the text, that is definitely something we will fix in the next update :D
Good Stuff! I really liked your guys' idea
We appreciate the kind words!
Creative and engaging since you get new things to add at the end of every turn - cool idea!
We're glad you found it engaging! Thanks for playing!
I love your take on the theme for this game! The presentation is amazing and the gameplay was fun and enjoyable for me. Good job :)
We're glad you found it enjoyable!
Now this is such a fun and unique concept!!! Lends a lot of fairness to the rng and just works very well! The art and sound design is also wonderful and in total makes for a great experience!
Awesome work!
I'm glad you found it fair! We were a little worried about balancing haha.
Good concept, and perfectly executed ! Original idea, audio is on point. The details of the screen having zones in transparent to help us focus on what's important is very good! Well done!
We're glad that part of the UI helped! We didn't have time to playtest much so it's really good to hear things like that paid off. Thanks for the review!
Roll is Random
Wizard is You
This is a literal banger, thats all i gotta say
Thank you so much that means a lot!!!
Amazing concept! Love it! Well done.
Also this artstyle fit perfectly.
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Genius idea to put both parties in the same die! Lovely simple art style with great tunes.
Placing the cards was bit janky. Almost frequently I picked another card right after I placed another next to it... Still, very enojyable.
Good stuff!
Yeah haha we weren't quite able to iron out every bug before submission time. Thanks for the feedback!
Ur probably the person with the best concept... like srsly this is some good stuff.
LOVE DA ARTSYLE :D
Epic game too, not sure if the dice is rigged but it is killing me lol
Ngl this comment made us extremely happy.
Sorry the dice are kicking your ass! They're not rigged I promise we just didn't give ourselves enough time for balancing.
Great concept around turn based combat. Nice presentation
Thank you!
Nice turn based combat system! It's pretty fun.
The art is very nice, I just wish the pixel size/grid was a little bit more coherent.
Thank you!! I’m by no means an artist so I really appreciate the feedback
