The game is truly very good and I’d say it has a unique atmosphere. In a way, the graphics brought me nostalgia — maybe because of the visual effects present in the game environment.
Speaking of the environment, it turned out great and very well organized. Even though it’s small, you can feel that everything was placed exactly where it should be, delivering a satisfying gameplay experience.
I really liked the audio design too, especially the narration. The radio-like style added a lot of life to the atmosphere, making the world much more immersive.
The mechanic of throwing the packages is pretty cool as well, although it’s a bit challenging to understand what needs to be done at first. A short tutorial would be essential so that as many players as possible can understand right from the start.
Great game — I found it really fun. Congratulations and I wish you good luck in the Jam!
Really cool atmosphere and setting! Felt like playing portal or stanley parable so I was trying to find my way out of the room instead of doing the actual chore. Controls felt very smooth, I just wish I could've figured out how to succesfully do the chore, a quick tutorial or easier start could help. Right now I figured color box should go to color van but that didn't seem to do the trick. Managed to escape via a van, which would be a very cool easter egg. Good entry!
This is either a commentary on working conditions in parcel centers and debt, or I'm really bad at your game :)
Could be a bit easier :)
The PSX style aesthetics were cool, and the sound fit the gameplay. I noticed you have music in credits, but I didn't hear any?
There was one thing I'd change- it would be nice if the city names were sorta related to others in the country. For example San-Antonio being in a different country than Ivanovo :) Also- because of the style of graphics I had to get really close to read the map.
As for the usage of the theme- it was a pretty good one. The game kept you in one room (and not a nice one at that), and it affected the gameplay.
Really fun game, you nailed the aesthetic and the core gameplay loop is fun and intense, cool entry!! The "grain-y" style of the models fits perfectly with both the premise of serving a Mechanical Turk Sentence and the crackly audio from the narrator on the loudspeaker. The sound design is really solid and helped to make the environment feel realistic, the voice over narration was a nice touch. The map was super cool and fit the gameplay very well, but I wish the town names had been a bit more legible, especially at a distance, it was often difficult to see them and when rushing against the clock it could be annoying to waste time just trying to read.
The core mechanic of picking up a box scanning it and delivering to the correct van was a fun one. The player controller felt responsive and well-executed, and the package throwing mechanic was very satisfying. I think there could be a bit more player feedback or tutorial section at the start because I took me a while to understand exactly how to play. At first I was just dropping the packages at the correct door an then being confused why I was losing money, and then later on I would load the packages correctly but not realize I had to push the button to send the truck on its way. In hindsight it seems obvious, but as a new player I was confused. I think a very short tutorial, narrated on the loudspeaker, where the player has to deliver a single package would help solve this.
Overall, I had a really fun time with your game and the concept and gameplay loop were awesome. The core mechanic was fun, the visuals had a cool style and the room was laid out well, and the sfx/narration were on point too. Great entry, and keep up the good work!!
Nice game but I am not sore where the boxes go
