Wow.. this is the cleanest game I have played so far. Amazing work, man. I am surprised how you were able to create this game in 48 hours.
I would really appreciate it if you could play and rate my game as well 🙏
Thank you for playing and for the kind words! I did play and rate yours(itch io says that I voted 22 hours ago compared to the current moment) I was the one, who couldn't save everyone :) Btw, would you be so kind to tell me which enemy did you like better? I am collecting data for post jam improvements :P
The overall quality is high! The detailed animations around the UI are nice. If the background music loops smoothly, it might enhance the atmosphere without interruption. Good job!
Thank you for your feedback. And thank you for playing. But I have to credit all the UI to the Asset Store, specifically Shift - Complete Sci-Fi UI by Michsky. I have it since forever and I think it was perfect for this game. The background music is from opengameart.org. It was mostly plug and play. Currently I would turn the volume down, add some fade in and fade out, or actually change the music because it doesn't fit the pace of the rover. But... time limitations. What can one do :)
Good! A bit too loud. Enemies and overall vibes remind me of Ratchet and Clank :)
Could easily see it as a full mobile/web game.
Thank you! This is the first comment that suggest I build it into a fully featured game. I am glad you liked it!
Btw, have you played Ratchet: Deadlocked? There you can drive on vehicles in some missions and they feel super good (probably similar tech to Jak 3), also has cool enemies and weapons, that might give you ideas on what to experiment with and which direction to go to
Really good and fun game
Thank you for playing. Like I said in the other comments, I would like to ask you about preferred weapon and favourite enemy character? I know that they were limited, but I want to set a default weapon and add another 2-3 creatures in a post game jam update.
Mmmmmm I just encountered the wasp and the robot and used the bomb and laser to defeat them. I’d say I really liked using the bomb, and the wasp fit the creature on the planet
Thank you for the feedback as well :)
Thank you for playing and for the feedback. +1 for the laser beam team! Currently I am looking for a way to try windows based game, since i am stuck on MacOS for now. Trying to find a way to test and give feedback to all the games with solo windows builds. Yours included.
Edit: Solved it, install windows with bootcamp. I did rate yours :)
This is a really polished exprience. It was a lot of fun too. well done
Thank you for playing! Hey, I am gathering data for post jam update. Which weapon did you prefer?
Really polished game, especially impressive given the short time frame. What I liked the most was how you integrated parts of the UI directly into the game world; a great use of Unity's new system.
Well done, and best of luck in the jam! ;)
Thank you for playing! I am collecting data for post jam update, which weapon did you like better? The winning weapon will be default post game. Then I also want to know which enemy is more difficult, but I don't have much of a feedback.
I like the Synty assets) You've made a great job. It's solid foundation to make interesting game.
Right now I missed the a global goal - there is no ending (or it seems that). So I don't know why I need to collect diamonds and upgrade the rover
Thank you for playing! Yep currently I tried to explain the end goal in two ways.
1. The one is direct - kill the boss at the end of the level and return with diamonds - upgrade - try again, which is optional.
2. The second goal is set through narrative - when time doesn't exist anymore - human nature kicks in, we start to get greedy and want more and more. So greed moves humanity forward and to do that you need to collect diamonds. So just go and collect diamonds or just waste your endless time.
And for games that are completionists, I added an option to max out all upgrades.
Nice use of assets, I like the lowpoly style, rover needs more maneuverability and could use more varied music. Otherwise fun game.
Thank you for playing! I will improve the rover movement after the jam. Right now it is a bit slow, since I wanted to add a rover speed upgrade in upgrades, but unfortunately didn't have time. You are right about the manoeuvrability, with a bit more mobility could go a long way. Music was actually last minute touch with a couple of sounds during the polish stage.
I like the concept and love the looks of the game but I wish the rover would move and turn much faster. I also wanted some knockback for weapons.
I much preferred the bombs (saw you asked about that).
Thank you for the playing and the feedback. The Rover gets slower the more diamonds you collect. It was intentional to be a bit slow, so that you can upgrade speed but didn't have enough time to add the upgrade before the submission. I wasted some time trying to change the camera and on tutorial. Will add this upgrade after the jam. Thank you!
The game is incredible. Congratulations!
Thank you! Just curious - which weapon did you prefer?
you made this over a weekend?!?!! so polished! very well done!
also, I love the name, made me click instantly.
Glad you enjoyed it! The name is a reference to the Bond movie. I imagine if James Bond got old, he would pilot such a Rover with Q providing the machine, weapons, communication, and M talking how important those Diamonds are.
Rated 5/5
Really cool game, well done! Love the mechanics.
Thank you for playing, which enemy did you like better?
i love it man
Thank you for playing! Which was your favorite weapon?
i like laser beam
Really fun! A great combination of action, strategy, and tactics. The ability to upgrade your "trips" is really neat and adds an extra layer to everything.
The only thing is I would make it more clear when the crystals become depleted!
Yea... with all the rush, i just added an image of a diamond on screen going from red to white like a progress bar. I know it is not a perfect solution, but with the energy I had at that moment it was the only thing possible. Thank you for the feedback!
Very smooth gameplay. The overall speed of the rover was a bit slow for me - maybe that could be an upgrade in the future? otherwise, I liked the upgrade system and core loop. Graphics are really nice and well put together (Earth Office is charming). And the cannon s design is great - I like that it doesn't shoot in a straight line and that you have to upgrade to that.
Yep, the more diamonds you gather, the slower your rover gets. I was planing on making an upgrade for the rover speed, but unfortunately didn't have the time. I will add them after the jam. Nevermind... thanks for playing and for the kind words. Btw did you try the laser beam weapon?
Yes The effect is really cool! Call me a dwarf, but I prefer the bombs :D
wow... really cool! But I am glad I did two weapons, because I am getting different opinions from different players. Apparently it was well worth the invested time.
Darn bees coming after me!! loved the feel it did make me like bam bam bam! good tension and the lazer weapons is my fav! endless key spamming! got stuck in the mud as well! intentional or not i liked it! Definetly will play more and check out the upgrades!
Thank you for playing! I am glad you enjoyed it! Yea the level was build in a hurry(time is always against us in a game jam), so you could get stuck in different places and there are a lot of flowers and trees just flying in the air. Will figure something out after the game jam.
definetly do cause i got beef with the bees! lovely game will play it again later tonight to check out upgrades!
I so badly wanted to kill the big bad guy with the shield. Even with maxed bomb weapon didn't succeed lol. Cool game idea with the mining/collecting and upgrading. Nicely done. Enjoyed it.
Thank you for the feedback. I am really glad you enjoyed it. Did you notice that when the shield is activated, more enemies appear around the statue? You have to kill'em all to remove the shield. :)
ya, I noticed groups spawning when I started drilling. Must've probably left a bee or so alive and that's why the shield stayed up. He was chasing me the entire map, so may have missed an enemy at the other side. thanks lol
Thanks again! if I had more time I would make some kind of closed environment for the boss fight, but ah time is always against us. Will think of something for future update after the game jam. Again, thanks for playing!
Hi! I've played it, and it's so amazing for solo dev can build this with such as complex and well built like this. But if I can give feedback, this game would much easier to learn if deliver with camera top down style (I imagining top down view like Deep Rock Galactic Survivors). Overall this game it's well made, especially solo dev, so yeah good job.
Thanks for the feedback. The top down camera is a great suggestion. I figured it out during playtest that the top down camera was an better option. Unfortunately didn't have time to try it out. It was either that or tutorial and decided to do a tutorial.
I love the title scene! Fun game!
Heh, it was a fun little touch but I now think it is the best part of the game. Thank you!
