Welcome to the first annual Name Jam, a beginner-friendly creative exercise inspired by Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud's quanto comics. This jam is unlike any you've ever experienced. Rather than having a set theme, we ask ourselves: what's in a name?

Here's how you (yes, YOU) can participate, by yourself or in a team:

1. Join this jam.
2. The period for names is November 24-December 7. Go to the Community tab and submit a name/title for a video game. Any name at all, as long as it's meaningful and not already being used.
3. The period for games is December 8-21. When that starts, I will randomly assign each entrant (myself included) a name submitted by someone other than them. You'll then have 2 weeks to create a video game with your assigned name. You can interpret and stylize it however you want, or even add a subtitle. New names can't be submitted during this time.

Only entrants who submit names will be considered for game submissions. If you don't finish in time, I encourage you to submit what you have anyway and update it later. If you leave the jam, please tell me so, and I'll add an empty slot. Someone else can join the jam and take your assigned name.

Rules:

1. Your game must be, well, a game. It can be any genre and be made with any engine/tools. As long as you can classify it as a "game" on the itch.io submission page, it's valid.
2. Your game must have the name assigned to you.
3. Your game must be made, start to finish (or at least working prototype), during the games period.
4. Your game must be free. You made it in 2 weeks, after all.
5. NSFW games are allowed, as long as no one under 18 is involved.
6. No bigotry or hate speech of any kind.
7. No generative AI (regular game AI is OK of course).
8. Feel free to find loopholes in these rules :)

This is an unranked jam, so just have fun, don't stress, and don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
