Ranked from 14 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
The player needs to time their reaction to exactly 5 seconds - they can either risk counting it themself to get it as fast as possible or they can wait for the timer to end which may result in them losing the round.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All art and sound effects linked on the itch.io page

I enjoyed this quite a lot. A great example that a simple game where everything is just simple enough but well executed, can be a really fun game. Good job!

The game is pretty simple, but you have put in quite a lot of effort into this, I am guessing you learned a lot from this.

The art looks really good.

Congrats on releasing a polished looking game and doubling down on the simplicity!

This game definently reminds me from one of Kirby Super Star's minigames, Samurai Kirby, where you have to quickly press the A button as soon as the red mark appears in order to win. This game is basically that, but with cats and biscuits. For this being your second Godot game, this is probably the best one you've made yet! I love on how the timer fades out before it even reaches 0. Oh, and I kept hitting the spacebar too early, but I'm mediocre at best when it comes to these types of games. Although, it would be nice for a tiny little screenshake and sound (Like say, "GET THE COOKIE!!!" whenever the cookie appears on-screen, because that can really elevate the urgency of needing to hit the spacebar NOW. Overall, 4.75/5 stars. Your best one yet, Donian. 🐈🍪

Haha, that's the direct inspiration for this. I haven't learnt how to do screenshake yet, so this will be a good opportunity, thanks for the suggestion!

Fun little reaction test game. My best was 8 but I mostly waited until I saw the cookie and I think after 8 it is too risky to wait since the reaction time of the opponent decreases. Not sure if there is another option to get it before seeing it as I was every time too early.

Good job.

I love the idea of this game, so small and simply but fun design!

Getting 8 biscuits and having the timer stop at 4 seconds and waiting for the biscuit is very risky!

Submitted(+1)

Simple concept executed really well! I had a ton of fun trying to out-click my foe ... my best is 8. I think you did a great job putting this together, I love the whole vibe, and as they say: keep it simple!

first game reaction time test in jam lol, I like it

PERFECT reaction time test

Submitted(+1)

Having gotten a cookie with a reaction time of 0.00 (idk how) this game is nothing more then a reaction time training excercise to me. Its not fun by any means its just kinda, wierd.

Very interesting game that i suck at, i could only get to 5 lol

i recommend looking into scaling the viewport to fill the window (should be in project settings in Godot), and then setting the resolution low enough so the game scales properly in the browser. just makes it look a bit more polished. otherwise, nice and simple little game, I agree with the idea to show how close you were to the perfect time to increase the skill ceiling. also, the game inherently has a good looking thumbnail from the page that made me want to click on it first when browsing all the submissions

Thanks for the advice, I've made decent progress on my 2nd game so I'll take a break and see about updating this one tomorrow!

Awesome! Keep at it!

is good

It's a fun short experience, I really like it as a way to test reflexes. Maybe you can show by how much you miss the perfect time?

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

ooh that's a good idea, i'll put it on the list of updates for before the jam ends, thanks!

Good Game but can be better such you have 5 days too early

DeveloperSubmitted(+1)

Thanks for playing, I definitely agree this game could be better but because I'm still learning Godot I'd rather make multiple smaller games than focus on one larger one.

Submitted(+1)

I liked how to the timer would disappear progressively sooner.

Submitted(+1)

i miss some sounds and music but its still very good

DeveloperSubmitted

thanks :D

I definitely should have put some sounds on the main menu at least, if I have time after making my 2nd game i'll go back and add some. I'm probably gonna leave music out though, because I want to let the player use the wind sound to time it.
