Man, I wish I got paid that much just for answering an email ahah
Good representation of the kind of prison a lot of people go through at work :)

You managed to simulate well a office vibe lol. I'm glad the character could do something different in the weekend, good narrative game.

the boring loop of work!!! great job!!

I would love your rating to my game!

Got 1300$ just on monday by only replying on mails - WHERE I could apply for this job)))
Nice entry, well done!

I wish I could earn that much just by replying email. That aside, I want to learn more about Erica! The gameplay is absolutely on point and I see a lot of potential with the narrative!

Developer

sahjkASH same. thanks for playing!!

Still better than actual work! Visually appealing!

Nothing more terrifying than a j*b

Even though you openly admitted this game might feel boring on its store page, I still pushed through and unlocked one of the endings. That said, like you predicted, I probably don’t have the patience to pursue other endings, I`m Sorry. Still, I see real potential for improvement here:

1.Slightly increase email response speed, appropriately accelerate gameplay pacing, and shorten the ending achievement cycle.

2. Use 24-hour clock (not countdown timer)

 3. Make screen colors shift with time (simulate daylight)

 4. Add subtle SFX:

(1)Keyboard taps (email replies)

(2)Stomach growls (hunger)

(3)Yawns, ambient noise (keep volume low!)

 5. Money’s purpose? Maybe tied to other endings?

 6. The eerie quietness almost feels horror-ready..."

(Original suggestions, not AI-generated >_-)

Lmao thanks for the ideas

I like the idea of just shoving someone in seat at a desk, it's very meta in a good way!

HAHAHSaSH The modern nightmare: a j*b

- Takes the double amount of time of a technical email to respond a personal email.

I'm in this picture and I don't like it

After Tuesday I stopped replying to any work-related emails and only replied to my bestie Erica LOL... that new thing I'm starting better work out because I do not have a lot of money saved up

Developer(+1)

Yeah, secret thing was during development i made days last 20 seconds and I only replied to erica too SHjkAHSJKAHJSK

Using the daily grind of work as the 'loop' theme was a good choice! Though it was tedious, the whole Erica narrative thread was enough to hook me into the next day. Great take on the idea!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it <3 Thank u!!

I would say it is a game, more a simulation or experience.
But Erica really needs more friends, or hobbies, or a drink, or a therapist, I am not sure actually. She might be a little stressed but the dinner will help. Or they will find my body on monday in a river, but 9k a week, totaly worth it

Developer(+1)

I mean if a woman wanted to throw my dead body into a river I'd say thank you but that's probably just me... AHSJAKHSKJA

The sepia-like color scheme sings office dystopia to me: Fabulous move there! I think the simpler mechanics were also a great choice, since the story really takes place on your (in-game) screen. Also appreciated how you adding some timing to typing replies, rather than just a simple point and click dialogue; that felt super true to how demanding and grating going through an actual inbox can be, haha.

Developer

HAHAHA yeahhh it is grating AHSJKAHSKJAH Thanks!

I enjoyed this game

This Erica girl is really biting into my email simulator time smh. But in all seriousness, this was a lovely game, I think what might have improved it a little for me is that if you choose to start chatting with Erica and get some hope to leave this insane monotony of a job, the colour could start coming back to the environment! I think it would be a nice little touch to help the narrative along. But otherwise, I had a lovely time playing this and pretending I was very important responding to all of these budget proposals. Great submission!

Developer(+1)

That's such a good idea oml ToT

I enjoyed this game! It was short but sweet, I thought your interpretation of the theme was pretty well realized. My finger hurts from holding down the mouse button so much, but I'm also filthy rich now so I guess that balances out.

Developer

ah it seems you've uncovered my secret villainous scheme. You see I went through great lengths to hurt your finger specifically! MWAHAHAHAHA FEAR ME. (thanks for playing tell me if you need me to break your other fingers <3)
