I enjoyed your game. The npc dialog was funny. glad he had so much to say. Had a bug in which hitting the exit door caused you to die, therefore incrementing the death counter.

the npc dialogue was funny! i will say its a little slow and the interpretation of the theme is a little basic, but i can tell you probably worked hard on this. its a good start for sure! good luck in the future :)

Developer

Hey thanks I didn't have much time I basically had 1 day to work on it so i just slapped bunch of stuff and made it work but thanks for your feedback

For one day, it's pretty good. You should be proud :)

Charming game and art style! It would be cool if there were more things stopping you from getting to the exit or trying to defeat you each loop.

Developer

Thanks I tried but with the time I had I just smacked a phew things together and posted.

Neat concept!

It's a nice little experience. There's not much to it but it's a good interpretation of the theme.

Cute little game, a bit slow for the player movement, but it was great!

Hey, I liked the idea, I'm not really into slow game but I took the time to try a lot of things, bugging the stomp in order to put him in lava, fly the bee... classics strats, and it was a good experience. I don't know if it's the key or something wanted but when I waited the timer, It just froze and I had to restart :/. Still trying to find the (I don't know what's the name still but the thing) what the pnj wants.

Developer

Heyyy there isn't a end after the time you win i didn't have time to make a key or something like that the idea was no one waits they always rush to the end But thanks.

I really like this! It is a fun and cute little game. I have a few pieces of advice though:

1. The concept is really cool. I do wish you had made the NPC only start tracking how much he has said after the first time you talk to him though. I talked to him for the first time after I went through the door a few times, just as a test, and I think he just said one of his looping dialogue options (as opposed to the introductory dialogue).

2. This is actually (i think) a bug, not a suggestion, but when I ran out the timer, the game froze and seemingly crashed. (I don't know how godot handles crashes though so it may have just been frozen.

3. Add more enemies. Since it is a short game without a very complex level layout, I think the game would have benefitted from more interesting gameplay, which could be derived from having multiple enemies hindering you at once (even if you did not add more enemy types). I imagine this would be easy to do by just adding more spawn points and increasing the spawn frequency.

4. Parallax: Despite the level being quite short, it would still benefit from parallax to make it feel a little bit more alive. I understand you most likely did not have time to implement parallax, but if you do another game jam, I would recommend blocking off a few extra minutes to work on that (assuming you do another platformer).

Overall, this is great! I love the art style, it is super adorable! The idea is fun, and there is a lot of room to develop this further after the jam if you choose to (I personally like to do this to help me with programming quicker). If this is your first game jam, great job! Also, good job picking music and SFX, they both fit well in the game.

Hey thanks for the idea's the game just ends after the time I didn't have anytime finishing it my time zone didn't allow me to get done with work and stuff so i just put together a simple game thought it might work but thanks!

I don't know why but, after a bit, while playing this game, I felt like being trapped in the Trueman show. "You can't get any further away, before you start coming back." It's a simple but fun concept, the green guy/gal teased me saying there's a shortcut, but I couldn't find it. Or is he/she lying? Mmmmm...

Developer

BRO 100% what i was aiming for the shortcut is just for people to keep playing lol but thanks!

I like the idea of the NPC that’s part of the loop with you, even if they don’t really change what they do. The dialogue options were nice, and the slight differences in the environment were something I’d hoped to see, although I wasn’t sure what more to do after a dozen loops.

Developer(+1)

I wanted to add more stuff but my time wasn't on my side so i just what i could but thanks.

Dude, after many tries to find a secret wall, dying without talking, just ramming the door over and over, swim on the lava I thought about just waiting the timer run out, if that's the catch it is a really cool idea! Unfortunately my patient was not that high 😅 Maybe when the npc notices that the player stopped moving and try to convince him to do something that would reset the loop would be really funny too!

Developer

Lmao thanks so much!
