Love the art, sfx are great too. I like the concept, however I found it a little bit tedious when you have to return to the initial point every time and if there are a lot of spikes you loose a lot of attempts. I'm not the most avid platformer player out there, but I think it feels a little bit slippery(in the air too, I don't know what else I could use to explain how I feel it) for the kind of game that requires you to be somewhat precise. And I'm not sure in one of the attempts the first level loaded with the texture of the second, I don't know if it's intended or if that's a bug. Also, having pause menu and return to title would help, and one thing I notice after returning to the title after dying is that I could not see the mouse or interact with anything. Still, this is being a bit nitpicky, it's a great game! Congrats for this submission!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! We'll take a look at the movement and tedium involved with the game loop. We're aware of the menu issues, but just ran out of time unfortunately. As for the level textures, they're two different sets of terrain chunks and are chosen completely at random, so that was intended.

Love the art style and SFX, very cute main character, thoroughly enjoyed the game, the looping mechanic is a fairly interesting and unique one though it does feel a little underbaked - it's a tad frustrating to replay the same level 10 times as the loop sends you back to spawn, without knowing if any progress is really being made since the location of the door to the next level is unclear.
Maybe in the future the blocks dreamed away in the previous loop could then be placed in the current loop? Just an idea.
could definitely benefit from some background music.

Thanks for playing, glad you liked the art! I do agree that it's somewhat unclear where you're supposed to be going, we'll look at making the gates' locations more intuitive. Thanks for the suggestions.

Wow this is a very unique take on the theme! All the art fits and the sounds as well! Y'all did a great work! I had lots of fun! Will follow for post-jam updates!

Also I'd appreciate feedback on my submission if you get a chance!

Big fan, love that you're able to influence the "loop" across your different playthroughs.  Even gives a little bit of a corpse run vibe, where i was getting stressed that i was gonna hit a spike after getting so far down the path that i had created.  the difference in visuals between the levels was great--always felt cohesive, but like you had entered a new environment.  only issue for me was that the spike collision was a bit finnicky; are you supposed to be able to walk through them? if there was a spike at the end of a platform, it would kill me immediately after i walked through it and started falling down (i assume the collision is toggle if the player is falling). regardless, i was able to learn and play around it! platformers arent really my thing, but i loved the twist enough to make it to the end.  awesome job!

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed the game! You are "supposed" to be able to walk through the spikes, but we were having some trouble getting them to behave right when they were on platforms. Thanks for letting us know about the issue.

I gotcha I gotcha.  It was a minor issue, and didn't impact that game too much.  I died mostly by thinking id save time by dodging spikes instead of dreaming them away, but instead id die like five times and lose a lot more than 1 hour :)

I love the dream mechanic; influencing the level geometry for your next loop is very engaging and a creative twist. The graphics are fantastic as well, I especially love the star wipe transition, it gives me GameBoy Kirby vibes. The level design is just maze like enough to be interesting, but not too much so to be overwhelming; I felt challenged to keep track of what path I was taking / where I needed to dream for progress, but never completely lost. Ladders felt a bit finnicky to me, I wish there was a way to go down them without the cycle of falling/catching with W rapidly -- there where a couple sections where I'd be on a ladder with a one block gap on the left/right and it was difficult to navigate through. All in all though, a great platformer with a super novel mechanic, nice work.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it, and if we ever go back to polish the game up a bit we'll add climbing down ladders.
