Really cool concept. Caught me by surprise. Could have done more with the level design IMO but the idea alone has a lot of potential. Good job!
Really interesting idea to loop controls in platformer, great job!
nice idea, but too long demo level, plus I found it quite hard to jump the platforms. Also some sound effect would be nice.
great idea my friend!Well done!
I would love your rating to my game!
Thanks for playing our game !
And I will rate your game!
Agree that this is a cool idea! was funny how I needed to go left and right to fall down in one place. was a little frustrating that I needed to restart the whole level when I die, I think it would be better if those blue shards would save you to the specific spot
Cool idea, level design needs more polishing though. And the font on the main menu is too blurry.
Thanks for your feedback we will work on it!
Checkpoints and with that fast retries would be nice to make it easier to progress in the levels. Congrats on your entry! :)
Maybe it's needed later on but the camera tracking with the jumps is extremely disorienting especially when it's just this is how you move all the time. I mostly just found it difficult to control and couldn't get past the multi jump segment in level 2, there's probably a timing for it so you don't need to readjust mid air but I just fell into the pit over and over.
We’re sorry , we didn’t have the time to test for the first levels ,the right way for control is when you jump is better to go left then right to go on the platform it just needs timing it right , and we wanted the first levels to not die from all the jumps maybe some of it but we realised that in the last hour of the jam.
Nice concept! Could have faster restart and smaller levels
Unfortunately we didn’t notice how the restart button is far we had the idea to just press the space button but we noticed that late.
Thanks you for playing !
Kinda broken maybe. None of the gameplay seemed to work the way that the tutorial was describing, and when I got past that the game was hard to control and the way to play it was unclear. Nice art and great sprite animation, and I like the music.
Hey, thanks so much for playing and leaving feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the art, animation, and music. That honestly means a lot to us.
Sorry to hear the gameplay didn’t match up with the tutorial and felt a bit confusing or hard to control. We are still learning and trying to improve with each project, so I really appreciate you pointing that out.
If you’re up for it, I’d love to hear more about what specifically didn’t work or felt unclear. It would help me a ton going forward. Thanks again for taking the time to check it out!
I really like the artwork - cool environment! But I feel that I'm missing something. Either the game is glitchy or I'm just brain dead. I wasn't able to set up any loops - once I started jumping it just keeps jumping - couldn't get back into a run cycle. (only way I found to do that was to push up against the left wall and hit space). Like the concept, but I wasn't able to pull it off. : - (
(Also, couldn't figure out the function of the blue crystals other than to just make you stop, so yeah, I'm probably brain dead. )
It is a sort of hard to learn game, but when you do get the mechanics, it gets so much fun. Thanks for playing anyway!
The blue crystal gets introduced later on, where it forces a stop to jumping, so you can walk to avoid the spikes over your head.
Great fun and an interesting and challenging take! Great art too! Nicely done!
Thanks for giving it a try !
Cute and fun! It would’ve been nice to have more options, but other than that — great job!
I don’t know if you’ve reached the freezing part and the double jump part but l’ll admit we did introduce them late in the game, unfortunately, but thanks for playing !
super simple concept that i'm genuinely surprised nobody else did! you all executed on it pretty well, and i like it. just wish the camera was a bit bigger so i could play the game without my face inches from my computer screen lol
great job on y'all's first ever real game! keep it up!
I really was shock to not see many games with this idea to be honest, but i am really glad you liked it.
Yah the camera i wasn’t comfortable at where it was set i really didn’t know where to focus it on, especially that you need to way ahead of the player and way under as well .
Thanks for your kind words and playing the game!
Very cool concept looping the inputs wow!
I think the camera could be placed closer to the character for better precision
Ahhh why am I so bad (only level 2) XD
Keep it up very nice first entry, may many more come!
Thank you for giving it a try!
I also agree with the camera as well, especially that it turned somehow into a precision platformer.
Not to worry, we made the game harder than intended, but honestly, I am so happy that many people liked the idea overall.
I mean only because i cant do it does not mean its bad ... thats just a skill issue on my side :]
The browser version was a bit laggy for me so I didn’t play that much but I enjoyed what was there. I think the concept is quite interesting, especially since you have to work with the timing of the jumps and so on…
The camera movement was a bit annoying with the jumps, I suggest to only change the camera y position if the player exceeds a certain y-threshold and on hitting the ground (to stop the camera from moving up and down when the player only jumps on the same platform).
At any rate, I think you did a good job!
Thank you for your advice, will definitely do that!
Really like the concept! Great work
Thanks !
cool idea with the sticky keys, and good job for your first game!
Thanks for playing !
I love the idea of keys looping infinitely, but the game needed more keys/mechanics to fulfill this premise! After you start jumping, it sort of becomes a normal platformer.
Unfortunately the short time and change of ideas resulted in fewer mechanics than we intended .
Thanks for playing our game and for your the review !
This was a great idea! It was pretty hard for me, so I didn't manage to get past level 4. I found it a little frustrating to land on spikes when the only reason I couldn't see them is that my guy is sitting in the bottom 1/5th of the screen, but I did really enjoy having to time jumps by hopping around left and right. Nice game!
We were aiming at a puzzle game with this idea but somehow we didn’t have enough time to implement that and ended up with sort of a precision platformer which made the game hard 😅 ,
Glad you liked it and gave it a try in the first place.
Thanks for playing !
