I feel like a pervert, thanks
So, I recognize that some queer creators have found inspiration in this essay, including a mutual on this very site. So if you have, then great.
But I see a few problems here.
1) What is with the formatting? This is supposed to be an essay, not an art piece.
2) The author says it's for asexuals and non-sexual passion too in the comments, but the whole thing uses sexually charged language and complained about "sexless wholesome romanticism" and "perfect bodies that refuse to fuck."
(Incidentally, I first learned about this essay because an asexual writer complained about it.)
3) As someone in the comments pointed out, it uncritically celebrates some directors who've treated the actors they work with terribly.
This was a great game to engage my prek ttrpg group in shared imagination world building!
After finding the phone, I could no longer control the character.
