I hate cyberpunk. Truly, to the depth of my being, it utterly and completely bores me to death. The fact that Under Heaven was not only able to get me past that gap, but completely pulled me in and engrossed me entirely is a feat that very few established authors would be able to do, let alone VN developers on the internet.
There are hundreds of sloppy FVNs out there to read- pointless smut with nothing to say and trope-laden bullshit aplenty, but this one- completely taking me by surprise- is nothing of the sort. I'm not going to waste time pouring over every detail, but everything in it- from the brilliant art to the gorgeous narrative that's somehow using these themes and tropes I've seen a million times before in such unique and endearing ways, it all genuinely floored me. This is real, passionate art, in a genre that needs it.
A 10/10 experience, up there with all the greats- Echo, Burrows, Arches- this deserves so much more recognition than it has so far, and I'll be there with every update that comes out. Kudos to the team, and I wish you luck.
