I was engaged from the start. Great writing. Good job.

Thank you!

That makes sense - thank you!

Thank you!

I like this idea and would definitely like to play again if you do decide to add more polish after the jam.

I loved the AI voiceover.

I did struggle to understand whether I needed to actually click the trees to gather the resources or if any villagers assigned to woodcutter roles just did it automatically. It felt very hard to get wood to the point I wonder if it's a bug. At one point I had three cutting down wood - I'd built 3 of the woodcutting buildings next to the little forest.

They were chopping then every now and then they walked over to the wood cutter building. There was a 'dropping' noise which made me think they were supposed to be dropping off the wood they collected, but the wood number didn't go up. I may have misunderstood though.

Anyway I love the concept and if the wood cutting was sped up to balance things a bit more I think this would be really great. I think you did a good job in 10 days, especially since you were working on it alone. Well done.

Thank you!

This is fun and a good concept. I liked the world closing in as well as the retro vibe. Good job.

Thank you! That one is my favourite too

A really interesting story here. On one hand, I liked the repetitive daily gameplay and it sort of added to the feeling of being an ant doing monotonous tasks, and actually helped focus on the story (I loved the ending I saw!). I think if you were to polish it in future, it would be good to make the gameplay somewhat more fun but still repetitive. I don't know. I think it could be a hard one to balance to make sure the story was still the focus and so I think as it is is really good. Great game! Well done!

Thank you!

You know, this was the final game in my backlog to reciprocally rate this afternoon, and I was expecting to play a couple of times, have a reasonably pleasant experience, rate and carry on with my day.

I cannot stop playing your game. Send help.

Seriously, I don't know what it is but it's so addictive. Absolutely in the top 3 games of the whole jam for me. Excellent work.

Thank you for playing!

Good old-fashioned, nostalgic fun. I enjoy retro arcade games and the sound effects were on point. A, fun addictive game. I do agree with some others that having say 3 lives would be better than dying instantly.

Thank you for playing and for the detailed feedback - I am looking at getting these bugs patched and I definitely am going to implement the sound effects for the memory game. I am really glad you enjoyed.

Thank you!

This is very impressive. I love the look and feel of the game. I did have to go back and read the comments to see what I was missing as I kept dying at first and I didn't realise that I had to keep the walkers at the base to defend it. That may be my bad though. The game itself is really well designed and a lot of fun but I think it would benefit from a tutorial. It's a small thing though and something that can easily be implemented post-jam if you decide to continue with it (I hope you do). Excellent job!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed.

This is a good effort - I like the graphics and audio. The movement feels smooth to me. I agree that an invert y option would be good in future, although understand it's the kind of thing better suited for post-jam. I enjoyed this and think you did well to get this done in a ten day jam.

Thank you for playing!

Wow! I love the stop motion. This really caught me by surprise - so unique and such a good concept that was really well executed. I like point and click games, and it's lovely that your son's lego designs were used. Great job.

Thank you!

Thank you for playing!

This is a really unique concept and I think it has a lot of potential. I did struggle with how dark it was (brightness-wise) so I think once that is patched up a little it would massively improve it. Other than that, the art was good and it was very immersive. The story was great and I liked the themes you touched on. Well done!

Thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed!

A really good start here and I think this game has so much potential. I really enjoyed the mechanics as far as the burrowing, the floating etc. I do agree with some others that some of it, like the movement (the seed did feel very fast) could do with polishing up but for a first go I think you did a great job. I love the art style too and the music was good! Well done.

I really liked the cubes, a lot more than I expected actually. They were cute and the visuals as a whole really worked for this. Music and sounds were also good. A few minor pieces of feedback but nothing that affected my enjoyment:

a) Perhaps proofread for things like capital letters? E.g. straight away lower case 'i' was used instead of 'I'. Generally my eyes skim over it but I think in a story-driven game it can ruin immersion a bit as it makes it feel a bit less polished (totally understandable for a jam though).

b) The first time I spoke to the mirror I absolutely jumped out of my skin. This isn't necessarily an issue but before that it felt like a happy cozy game and I wasn't expecting the mood whiplash so it put me on edge a bit.

c) When I was talking (e.g. to the little orange guy) I found the controls a bit awkward. E.g. I press the key to go 'next' after each piece of dialogue but then have to switch to e or q to respond. Sometimes I accidentally pressed next and I had to start again. I think it would be good to block this from happening and force 'e' or 'q' and maybe a separate key if you want them to be able to end dialogue without choosing an option. This is all more for if you were wanting to turn it into a full game though.

Overall an interesting game. There was a good story, good characters and I really like that it was an RPG. An interesting take on the theme. Great job!

It's great there's so many relaxing games coming up - just want to say I am still getting through these so if I've not got to yours yet, I will do very soon! Keep them coming! I've really enjoyed the ones I've seen so far.

Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback. I completely agree with all the points you've raised and wish I'd had more time to implement these - especially the sounds. I will definitely polish it up post-jam so this is really helpful.

I really liked the concept. Visually, I liked the style. I'm somewhat bug-phobic and my ant movement made me a bit shuddery (I say that as a compliment). Audio was good too - complemented the game and not too distracting.

Game-play wise, it's not my preferred genre as I struggle with games that require skill and strategy for combat, especially switching between keys. My reaction times are terrible. That's not a criticism - I think it's good that you've made a game that involves thinking about what you're doing and not rushing in. I'm only mentioning this to explain that I don't have specific feedback on the actual combat mechanics as it's just not the kind of thing I'm knowledgeable about.

I enjoyed the game anyway and am impressed you came up with this in such a short time. Good job.

Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback. I completely agree with everything you said. I am glad you mentioned the memory game as I had in mind to improve that post-jam, (I think only in hindsight did I realise how important the sound effects are for a game like that) but you're right that Felicity's would also benefit greatly from showing the direction travelling, especially as dealing with the direction change is part of the game. Thank you for the suggestions - I'll implement these in future!

I'm really impressed you made a multiplayer game for a game jam. I didn't get to try it with someone but still really enjoyed playing. I think it's a shame that non-browser games often get overlooked as I think this is really one of the better games I've played in this jam. The controls felt smooth. The music was perfect. Really fantastic job.

Thank you

This was fun. I liked the visuals. The game was on point as far as the theme. A fun concept with the sneaking around.

Thank you for playing!

Excellent - simple, satisfying, fun. I liked the sounds and loved the difficulty progression. Great job.

Thank you!

This was a great concept and very satisfying game. I love the art style and it fit the theme really well. Well done on this!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you for playing and I am so glad you enjoyed the story and the very idiotic plan indeed haha
