Hi, I'm a sound and music guy that knows Godot looking for a team as well. If you want, we can team up and find an artist for the jam.

Here is the post I just made.

I'm an experienced composer for games. I've done music and technical sound design on many different game jam projects in the past 5 years. I would love to get on an experienced team to see what we could create. Here are some examples of my work.....

Update: SEPTAGON GAME JAM STARTS TOMORROW!!!!!

(1 edit)

Hi. My name is Morgan Dillon Crow.

I'm a technical composer itching to make some music for that game you're working on.
Take some time to listen to the demos below.
Not your thing? That's ok.
However, if it's JUST the music you've been looking for, do the following:

  • Slide into my inbox to just say 'hey" or "let's work together." My email is morgan@mdcrow.com.
  • Talk to me about your game, expectations, Timeline/ETA, etc...
  • Talk to me about your budget (would be cool to get paid or whatever)
  • Sleep at night knowing that your game's music is in good hands

Alright! Here's my demo: SOUNDCLOUD DEMO

Talk to you soon!

Hey everyone!

The Septagon Game Jam #2 is coming up on September 20–28, 2025 over on itch.io

The challenge is simple but fun:
👉 Everything in your game — characters, props, backgrounds — has to be made out of septagons (seven-sided shapes).

You can use any engine you want, work solo or in a team, and at the end we’ll vote on each other’s games based on fun, creativity, design, and more.

This jam is all about creativity, meeting other devs, and making something cool in just a week. No prizes — just bragging rights and good vibes.

If you’re interested, check out the jam page and hop on the Discord to connect with others. Hope to see your game there!

I want to keep playing it, but I needed to get off to give it a rating. Much like your entry in Jan.Jam, this is so professional and well done, I can't believe it was made in only 2 weeks. You had my attention at the first voice over.  I also found myself playing with the UI menus that you clearly put some thought and effort toward. I had trouble with the wall jumps, but I always do in first person parkour games where you can't  really change camera zoom levels. I kinda figured I would like this one while following your development in the Discord, and it didn't disappoint. I can't wait to play it some more with the new level you've been working on. Great work!

After the voting ends, we would still love to try this one out. I'm sorry that you ran into so many problems during the jam. If the native ports work, could you upload those too? The game looked really interesting, and it would be a good one to finish.

Wow! You really have a nice base here. What I see is a finished product  actually. And now you could even expand on it. Take 2 more weeks and add an environment, 2 more mechanics, and 3 more enemy types. Or more gameplay modes even (a 2 player versus mode perhaps?). Nicely done!

The visuals are disturbing...

The music is maddening...You're definitely on to something here.

If you created a map the player could move around in, I would love to play it.

My only critique is that the game lacks UI elements to show my health and whether or not my hits are effective.

A very unique entry overall.

What happens when you cross all of the arcade greatest hits and pair it with a Mario Kart style soundtrack and N64 style graphics? Well, you get "BallGame." Amazing and fun to play! It's great that it plays in a browser. I can't really say much else. A future version should include some Tetris elements.

I really like the idea of this game. I got some seeds planted...I think. The guardian's hints were blank. So, I didn't really know what I should be planting. The visuals are very Atari-esque (not a bad thing), and music has a nice cave vibe. Not what I was expecting from a farming game. I'm excited to see the future improvements you make to the game! It has a lot of potential.

Nice little puzzle platformer! I really enjoyed playing it. The graphics aren't the prettiest to look at. The music is simple, but effective to the tone of the game. I would have gone with solid colored platforms instead of a checked pattern, but that might just be a personal choice. There are a few things that would make the presentation better. Making sure your game's executable is identifiable is one. There's also a bug when you hit a platform with your head in the game. I had to restart the  whole game because I was stuck to a platform. A pause menu would've been super helpful in order to restart a level when that happens. Overall, I thought the level design was solid! The switching mechanic is seamless with the jump controls. The Z-key works really well for switching. Anyways, I really enjoyed playing it, and I hope to explore the game a little more when I have time to do so.

I really tried to play this game. I was impressed that it runs in command prompt (and it uses FMOD!), but the window is completely blank. I can hear the sound though. I tried different things like launching the game's exe normally, running the bat file as Admin. I even tried to launch it through PowerShell in Admin mode.

I still wanted to rate the game though. The music/sound effects seem to be the only thing that works in the game. Everything sounds awesome. The graphics of the game from the screen shots look very well done. I looked through the included instructions booklet (which helps with presentation), and it seems to have a strong sense of design. However, the presentation is brought down by the fact that I cannot launch the game. If this was brought to my attention earlier in the week, you could have fixed it and reuploaded it (since it's a game breaking bug). I digress, thank you for submitting, and I do hope you fix the game and reupload it in the near future.

Cheers.

🎉 The 1-2-3-Scope Game Jam is quickly approaching!
Whether you’re flying solo or teaming up, now’s the time to get everything prepped so you can hit the ground running

🎮 1-2-3-Scope Game Jam Prep Checklist! 👾

  1. Set Up Your Itch.io Game Page
Get your project page ready ahead of time so you can upload your game smoothly when it’s time to submit.

  2. Team Sync
Working with a team? Make sure everyone’s on the same page. Set up version control (like GitHub), and have a plan for sharing files, testing the game, and staying in sync.

  3. Check Your Tools
Double-check that your game engine, art tools, audio software, and hardware are working like they should. No one likes a tech surprise mid-jam!

Bonus Step: Make sure you’ve officially joined the 1-2-3-Scope Jam page so you're all set to submit your game when it's done.

Let’s get everything set and build something awesome!

The 1-2-3-Scope Game Jam is quickly approaching! Go ahead and hit that 'Join' button!

This is an excellent opportunity for game designers, programmers, artists and composer who are experienced or brand new to game jams.

Let the limitation be your guide!

You have the power to choose...

1 Environment

2 Game Play Mechanics (besides WASD/Arrow Keys/D-Pad movement)

3 Obstacles that will challenge the player in winning the game

This is a ranked and themed jam. The criteria are...

1️⃣ Focus:

Focus is primary in THIS game jam, as the goal is to create a scoped, achievable project. A clear and simple concept that follows the 1-2-3 Rule ensures that the game can be completed within the time frame and provides a solid, enjoyable experience without over-complicating things.

2️⃣ Presentation:

Presentation is about the entire package—the game's landing page, overall polish, and how it’s presented to the player. Bugs, spelling errors, and unfinished elements will lower the score. Make sure the game looks complete, even if it's minimal. Finishing the game is the priority.

3️⃣ Design:

Design covers the game’s mechanics, controls, and structure. It ensures the game-play is fun, balanced, and easy to understand.

4️⃣ Visuals:

Visuals are the art and style of the game. They should support the theme and enhance the player’s experience without being overly complex.

5️⃣ Audio:

Audio includes sound effects and music. Good audio creates atmosphere, guides player actions, and adds emotional depth to the game.

Also, make sure to join our Discord server before the jam kicks off! You’ll be able to suggest a theme, hang out/team up with other devs, and catch the theme announcement there before it goes live anywhere else.

See you there!

The theme will be announced on the day the jam starts.
There’s nothing to keep you from starting early, but it defeats the purpose of a jam. It’s more fun to wait.

I’m going to start a theme discussion/suggestions channel on the Discord server. You may want to join that server since I will be posting the theme there first before the jam starts that day.

This would count as a separate mechanic to movement. I suppose dodging/rolling could be counted as one singular mechanic since they are both forms of evasion and would normally use the same button. Thank you for the question.

Most game jam projects don’t fail—they just don’t get finished. The biggest challenge isn’t starting, it’s keeping the scope small enough to cross the finish line. That’s what this jam is all about!

Click the image above to go to the jam page.

The 1-2-3 Rule:

1 Environment – Keep the world contained.
2 Gameplay Mechanics – Aside from movement, pick two core mechanics.
3 Challenges – Three obstacles, puzzles, or enemies stand between the player and success.

By following this simple rule, you and your team can stay focused, avoid feeling overwhelmed, and actually complete your game!

Hit the join button on Itch.io and let’s make something great! 🔥🎨🎶

Hi. I'm just now seeing this. I sent you a friend request on Discord. I would like to talk to you about doing some art for our game jam project. There isn't much time left in the jam. Are you prepared to work fast?

My teammate and I are in search of a great 2D artist/animator to join us for the Godot Wild Jam.

It will need be a quick turn around (the deadline is the 23rd) . So, think about it before offering. Please, reply to this thread with references to your work if you are interested.

Thank you!

You can submit an old game as long as you have worked on it this month. If you are just now joining the jam, I encourage you to pull that game out and make improvements to it!

Only 2 days left until Jan.Jam 2025 submissions close. If you are just finding out about the jam and you've been working on something (game, prototype, asset pack), go ahead and submit it! This is a free form jam that just encourages creativity.

Hey thanks for participating in the jam!

Jan.Jam 2025 has officially started! Get to the discord server to join the fun!

The game runs great on an older iPad. Some touch controls would be nice. The character moves a little too fast though. The music is good, but doesn’t really set the mood for snail ranching. Great job on this submission!

Such a cozy game. I like the concept of feeding slimes and customers that walk in. The entrance door made me want to go out and explore the world. A nice addition would be resource gathering in the field. As is, the game is pretty laid back, but I would like to see some challenge like when you bump into slimes with the wrong type of food, some sort of penalty happens. Great job overall!

Difficult game overall. The controls could use some tweaking. Nice atmosphere  and platforming though.

Jan.Jam 2025—an upcoming game jam! For the entire month of January, you’re invited to unleash your creativity and build something awesome. This isn’t your typical jam. Here’s what makes JANJAM special:

Jan.Jam is NON-RANKED. There are NO RULES (exception: Keep it family friendly).  There be NO THEME.

It's in January! Chill out and have fun!

Jan.Jam is your excuse to:

  • Start on that game idea you’ve been thinking about for months.
  • Build a quirky prototype to test out a mechanic.
  • Focus on creating incredible assets, music, or art.
  • Try something new without worrying about perfection.

Jan.Jam is all about:

  • Learning something new.
  • Getting feedback and connecting with other creators.
  • Taking the pressure off and enjoying the process.

So, if you’ve been looking for a reason to create, this is it. Whether it’s a fully finished game, a fun little experiment, or just a showcase of assets you’ve designed, we can’t wait to see what you bring to life.

The line going through it though may not be though. Maybe just a guideline in the engine?

(1 edit)

That is a Septagon. So it is ok!

(1 edit)

Septagons CAN be non-equilateral for sure, but triangles aren't allowed. You can manipulate a septagon into an arrow.

You can review some exceptions to the Septagon rule here:

Hey Everyone!

We have officially begun, but it’s not to late to join the Septagon Game Jam!

The theme is I/O

Check it out!!!

Batch scripting would be allowed if it rendered shapes. You’re going to want to use a game engine for graphics rendering on this one, sorry. If you need assistance with Game Maker, we have a discord server. There may be someone there that will be able to assist you. Or you could try one of the many other game engine options. I always recommend Godot for its small size and simplicity.

We are in the final 24 hours before the Septagon Game Jam starts!

You're probably excited to start working on your septagonal game, but I encourage you to hold off on development until the jam officially begins. Instead, there are plenty of productive things you can focus on during these last 24 hours. Here are a few suggestions

1. Prepare Your Game’s Page on Itch.io – Get your project page set up so you’re ready to upload when the time comes.

2. Team Prep – If you’re working with a team, make sure everyone’s aligned and ready. Set up your version control (like GitHub) and have a plan for sharing source files and game testing.

3. Get Your Systems Ready – Check that your tools, software, and hardware are all good to go. No last-minute surprises!

Also, make sure you officially join on the jam page. This ensures you're all set to submit your game when the time comes.

Let’s get everything in place and make this jam awesome! 🎮👾

I would love to play a Metroidvania game made from seven-sided polygons in the upcoming Septagon Game Jam if you are interested.
