Hi everyone,

I’ve finally reached the polishing stage of Merry’s Seven Wishes. The demo is already available, and the full game is nearly complete — it just needs a bit of fine-tuning before release.

Originally, I planned to create video devlogs throughout development, but I was so deeply focused on the actual process of making the game — writing, rendering, animating, testing — that I didn’t share much along the way. In hindsight, that was a mistake. I’ve learned that without visibility and communication, even the most heartfelt project can easily go unnoticed.

Still, I decided to record one detailed video where I walk through every major step of creating this visual novel — from the first sketches to the final build.

For my next project, though, I’ll take a different approach. It’ll be a completely new story — a medieval fantasy inspired by Gothic, one of my favorite games :) This time, I plan to document the journey from day one: more videos, devlogs, and progress updates.

Thanks for reading and for supporting small indie creators. Every comment or bit of feedback really helps me keep going.

Hey everyone!

It’s awesome that there’s a thread like this where we can introduce ourselves. My nickname is Midnight Shift — mostly because I work on my passion projects, game development, only at night, after my day job and family duties :)

I recently finished my first relatively big project, starting from almost zero knowledge of Daz3D and Ren’Py, and now I’m working on a larger anime-style visual novel.

If you’re curious, you can even hear my weird voice and watch me slowly lose my mind trying to finish that first game 😅

Thanks for the opportunity to share our games — the ones we all pour our hearts into.
My small visual novel is called Merry’s Seven Wishes.
It doesn’t have action, twists, or dramatic mysteries — just one deeply emotional story about a man learning to live again after losing the woman he loved.

Thanks :)

Hey everyone,

I just released the demo of my first visual novel - Merry’s Seven Wishes

It’s a very personal project — emotional, slow-paced, and a bit different from what you’d usually see in the genre.

The story is about love, grief, and how color slowly returns to life. I’d really appreciate any feedback, thoughts, or impressions — even short ones.

Thanks for checking it out — means a lot! 🙏
