"If you see a game with high quality graphics in the screenshots but the downloads are less than 1MB, you can be pretty sure it's just malware. "
That's not always the case. For my game the exe contains no graphic assets at all, they are loaded from our servers at login.

What i would recommend instead is testing the exe with websites like https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload
There you can test any executable automatically (and for free) against 30 common antiviruses.

I never started developping on Iphone because of that.
On Windows Store they want your ID Card foto so i also gave up.
Now i stop doing anything for android until that's clear.
Pure Windows PC development is still free, sure Linux too but few people use that.

What i find especially annoying is that they can block all your applications just because a silly antivirus flags you by mistake or because someone at google doesn't like you. That's too much of a gamble to work for months on something and then have it blocked.

i use DirectX 11 and Opengl SE 3 directly, so no game engines. A game engine, even open source, will cause bugs you can't fix because you don't understand the code you didn't write yourself. Sure that makes more work at the start because you have to write your own layers. But in the long run, once you have your own libraries, you save time as there's no upgrade maintenance.
That's of course an opinion only for games you plan to continue for 10 years, not for throw away test games.

Android 16 verification trouble

I saw here https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/10/google-confirms-android-dev-verification...
Starting from Android 16, google wants to annoy small developers with verification and possibly paying a fee.
If that's confirmed i stop developping for Android and continue on Windows only.

Planet Samuro is a platform where you can build your own world : you arrive with a little avatar and you're free to do what you want :

- chat with people (in text, or use webcams and micro)
- dress your avatar
- explore the world (we got 10 servers with land to visit, 32 km2 per server, that's huge)
- ride with vehicles like cars, ships, helicopters (you can build new ones too)
- build and develop your own land in 3d mesh, there are lots of tools for that

This is all totally free (no money inside) as we're a group of hobbyists, not a company.
This game runs mostly on Windows; we have an Android version too in case you have no PC, but it's a bit complicated to use since there is no mouse.
If you're ambitious you can also host your own planet server on an ubuntu machine and make a totally independent world for your friends. We got already a few people who did that.
Planet Samuro exists since 2017 so it has continously improved since 8 years and has lots and lots of features.
