The original game felt a little empty and lacked variety. The original game was supposed to be big with two entire regions to explore, but they both lacked time and ROM memory to add everything they wanted, which means most route were really the same in terms of wild encounter, etc.

I am the developer of this ROMhack. I had a lot of fun adding features, modifying pokemon and movesets, and making the original game more enjoyable. Of course, this would have never been possible without forking the source code https://github.com/pret/pokecrystal.

I opened this topic to allow y’all to post your questions and feedbacks. I’ll potentially create a FAQ on the game manual if this takes off!

You are welcome. There are a lot of tiny projects, including a lot of zines, that I could find on itch on this subject.

But I still think it needs more representation. Making this game was for me a way to spread awareness on the matter and to make it so that players would relate and feel empathy for mental health conditions that are not very well known.

As usual, I really loved your game. That hairdresser was sooo obnoxious omg. I really like how this game confronts the player with a daily cringe situation you had to face (and that trans women often have to face), and how you give us your thoughts about it in the end. And Bitsy works perfectly for that.

I picked the radical ending and completely cut my hair off. It felt liberating, even if it was just a game. I might do just that some day. I’ve been thinking about a buzz cut for some weeks now. And doing a few piercing. I don’t know if I’ll have the guts to do that but… Your game really made me wanna do it for good.
