I love this game - absolutely brilliant. And well done for making it into the GMTK video too.

(If you are looking to do more on this, I think there is a minor bug when your castle gets high - some of the rooms disappear as you put them on the board. I saw this a few games in a row when I was getting to around c. level 70+)

Well done - an interesting and original entry! Good humour and I like the little touches, like the geometric shapes scrolling beneath the message boxes :)

This is seriously mind bending!! Took me a while, but I was pleased to finish (and a nice twist in the last level - no spoilers). It felt really satisfying to work out myself what "adding shapes" means.

BTW, I probably found Washington Monument the hardest, as it was adding it in a way I wasn't expecting .. although I've just spotted it is one of your screenshots, so that would have been a helpful clue at the time!! :)

I enjoyed this - well done! The controls took some thinking .. but I go there after a few trials. If you plan to continue to develop this, it would be great to have a bit more user feedback when there is a calculation in progress, and also it may be that you could do a preview mode that only does finite recursion but updates quicker (I know the download is much quicker, but I can only run the web version). I'd be interested to see how this continues to develop if you share on the Discord :)

This is an interesting concept, and using the shapes as a way to control the size of each type of building adds an additional layer of strategy - eg, I saw cases where I could get proportionally more wood depending on the size of the shape.

I would have benefited from some more detailed instructions on how to play, and what my end game was - eg, I had a few goes and built up some understanding of the building types, but I couldn't work out whether there was a way to build synergies between buildings, or how to get the mine to score. That said, the numbers at the bottom left were a very helpful guide.

Well done, and good luck if you plan to continue to develop this post jam :)

Very nicely done - the character shape animations are really smooth with nice palette too, and it's a great game experience. If you plan to continue to do more on this, it would be great to add some chunky sounds, and some particles etc. :)

Thanks - appreciate it. The level design was pretty last minute, and I would have definitely liked more time during the jam to polish and balance the game and add a few more levels. :)

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback :)

Ha ha.. that made me laugh out loud on the train! 😀

Really enjoyed this. Great that you added juice to the drawing! Nice work :)

Looks and feels great. Great to see a different engine too - I hadn't come across Orx before. Well done, and good luck with doing more on this post-jam :)

Well done. Brilliant music and great concept! :)

Really enjoyed this, and great physics. Well done all around! :)

A really interesting idea, and a great UI. If you consider doing more on this, it would be great to have some "pre-defined" setups, so that new user can get a sense of how different options work.

I see from your other comments that you are already working on version 2 - I hope it goes well! :)

A really interesting take on the theme. Good puzzles, and I like the pieces tumbling down when you win each level :)

Nice work

Great work. Really smooth satisfying movement and a big play area. I enjoyed the "OLC screen" easter egg :)

If you are thinking of doing more with this, I would love to heard some sfx, and see some particles etc. It would also be great not to immediately regen the enemies when you exit a screen - there were a few times where the exit was effectively one-way, as the enemies hit you too quickly on returning to the previous screen.

Well done

Nice work. I particularly like the cinematic camera following the horses! :)

Thanks! What’s a “bank shot”? 😀😀

Level 7 is still very good going. Level 8 is the last one before you “win” and move on to endless mode 😀

Thanks for the feedback re the skip.. might be a bug.. I implemented an “airgap” to stop accidentally throwing a banana, but completely agreed it needs some tuning!!

Thanks T

Sounds like a great plan. Good luck!

Good smooth movement - nicely done. What you thinking you might do next with this?

Nice work - smooth movement. If you do more work on this, it would be great to be a bit more forgiving with the pickups .. ie, perhaps draw them towards your ship if you are close. Well done

Great work - really nice music and sense of speed :)

Great idea .. I would have loved to have had a better idea on how to score .. but managed to get through a few levels with intuition. Well done :)

Interesting idea .. made me think of Flatland. I hope your daughter's GCSE's went/go well!!

It's a promising start - slick UI and fun intro. Good luck with this!!

Really interesting entry, and I love a deck builder. Definitely a challenge to fine tune the balance during the jam time, so well done! Music works great too

Well done - level 16 is excellent, especially for your first run. Glad you enjoyed it ... even if you weren't so keen on how I interpreted the theme :) :) :)

Great stuff. Really nice controls, and the shapes falling down works really well. Well done

Great idea, and nice interface. If you plan to do more on this, I would find it really helpful to have a bit more control on starting/stopping levels, so I can test out different solutions. Well done

Well done on your first game jam entry! Nice spider animation and great to see the procedurally generated levels.

Really slick "grappling hook like" tongue. I really like how it catches items when it's retracted .. and it feel satisfying when the tongue slides around the walls. Well done :)

A really nice concept - nailing the risk/reward balance. Well done. I got to 61k depth .. and was struggling to see with the failing light.. I'll have to find a brighter monitor!! :)

(1 edit)

Thanks. If you adjust your aim once you start drawing for a throw, you can fine tune the aim .. but you don't have long :)

(Also.. having played your entry, I wish I had included the burst firing of bananas that I was originally planning .. making it a bit more chaotic!! Still, there is only so many hours available during the jam time)

Works well, and the ascii graphics suit it well.

Nice work, and great to see a Pico-8 entry! Physics work well, and the intro screen is really nice. Well done :)

Good work - plays really nicely. If you consider doing some more on this after the jam, it would be great to see what scoring diagonally would add to the gameplay, and maybe some juice too! :)

Nicely done. How did you do the player 2 ai?
