great question, this is definitely messy the way I wrote it! It’s been a couple years but I think the intention was once each player has one of their two characters tracks filled, not both, so there could be survivors in either timeline. In the event that a player has expired both characters, they’d do a scene using the no characters rule on page 25.
My goal was to give a quick epilogue/cliffhanger type ending, the final shot of the Blair witch or something like that, which isn’t explored beyond its initial impact. The tape/game ends and you’re left to wonder and feel the eerie vibe.
stoked to bring this baby to print :) https://www.worldchamp.io/store/instant-starship
thank you so much! There’s some Michigan Dogman here mechanically for sure because I love how simple and evocative that game turned out, the magic is mostly in evocative prompt writing and letting people put themselves in that space, but doing so in a much more personal and intense way here. Appreciate you :)
I promise not to sue lol but I would consider blood borg under cc-by 4.0 license, idk if this replaces or stacks with the regular Mork Borg license but I think if you include this you’re safe https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.en
Also please share it here so people can see! I can’t wait to read what you cooked up
while my garrison of Death Wardens sacrificed their mortal bodies to protect what was left of their souls after a sentient spider-like factory consumed most of their troops, I managed to sneak out a victory with my dragon hawks and capturing the tortured and glued together skin husks of formerly human scientists leading hybridization experiments on behalf of the basilisk. Bastion forever.
thank you! Loser is available as part of Blood Borg Sucks: https://worldchampgameco.itch.io/bloodborgsucks
I loved my read of this today, it’s super slick and easy to understand while also having massive potential! I love when a group makes the setting together before play and this handles it in an elegantly mechanized and guided way that’s going to have every player hooked into the world and tons of potential for new adventure. Really well done.
this one stings in its effectiveness. It makes me feel like the character in an immersive and gross way (compliment). I picture the dogs, I picture the store. There’s something so unsettling and evocative here.
I also made the mistake of reading most of it ahead of time but it didn’t ruin much for me, it just let me know what sort of exploitative horror I was getting myself into.
Some of the words in my review might be normally bad but I mean them in the best way here especially when discussing horror!
yes, i'm waiting for the reprint to come in from the printer right now to update the store listing! It will be available at worldchamp.io/store and preorder is open right now via backerkit at tinyurl.com/midnightpreorder
I’d say it’s little of both. The vamps survive at zero hp unless there’s sunlight or silver involve and they die forever.
however, their hopeless existence is societal: the upper class hates you and you are relegated to lives in alleys and sewers. You will never be at the top, but that shouldn’t stop you from having a good time.

-1 grit, +1 weird.
You have spent many sleepless nights watching horror movies, from the award winning to the straight to bargain bin. When you come across something you’ve seen in a horror film and try to understand its purpose , say the name of the film to your partner and take +1 forward. If you can get your partner to earnestly watch the film before the next session and they describe their favorite part of the movie to you, they roll the investigation move with advantage.
I loved playing this game! Psychedelic and evocative And slick, here’s a video of my play session from twitch https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2285092781
