Thanks for the feedback! Very valid. I will be adding a menu and settings for sound/music in the next update once the jam is over! :)

I agree with the balloon incentivizations and will see what I can think of! I'm also open to ideas for the game as well in general!

Hey! Thanks for playing!

There isn't much difference initially - however you do need resources to get the better upgrades so leaving them idle will eventually lock you out of picking better upgrades.

Each upgrade level improves when you purchase it, so it makes the next tool upgrade better.

I wanted the balloon % to give a benefit but couldn't think of one I could add in time so the balloon % ultimately serves the purpose of completing the game!

Wow this is actually a really cool game!

I'm surprised by the variety and complexity of enemy patterns you added in such a short time, and how each predator's attack pattern is accurately portrayed by their real life counterparts, such as the kingfisher bird.

I also really liked the vibes of the game and the controls are also very unique and engaging. The animations were also well done and I liked the little details like bubbles rising and even popping when the jellyfish touches them, very nice polish and VFX. The art also evoked a very nice, immersive underwater mood.

Loved the ending congratulatory music btw, very charming game! Well done~

NICE! Thanks for playing and cool that you got to fly away~

The game is a bit confusing. I wasn't sure what closing the door does, or the difference between leaving it open. I see a percentage at the top left of the screen that gets lesser and lesser as time passes, and even goes negative, but I do not understand what it represents. My health? Power? Chance to open the elevator?

the controls are also a bit confusing - i think those could have been written in-game to make for a smoother immersive experience. I could hear monster sounds but could not see anything, wasn't sure if I was supposed to react to something. Sometimes the elevator seems to move by itself without any user input, which adds to the confusion.

Nonetheless, I liked the atmosphere and it did establish a good tone for the game! So good job on that!

I liked the narrative here and how the story reveals itself as you walk. One suggestion, perhaps the 'E' ui button should face the player, because it is very easy to miss them, especially when it doesn't always appear on the same environment object.

Also when I reached the end, I wasn't sure if something was supposed to happen as the game seemed to end a little bit abruptly and it's unclear if the story has concluded.

A minor bug: When you open a note when running, the running sound does not stop.

I love upgrade games so this was pretty cool - I think there should have been multi-upgrade like Shift to add x10, as the points come in huge quantities. Either that, or the level ups should give less points, and each point actually gives a bigger upgrade and impactful boost. That way, the player does not have to click so many times.

Overall, I loved the varied upgrade choices that the game provided~

Thanks for playing it! Can I know which part could be optimized?

HAHAH THIS IS VERY FUNNY!

Right, let me do that!

Hi there, there were a couple of artists so depending on which art you're referring to, they're made by different people. You can check out the in-game credits in v0.61+ for the full updated list! Here's a couple notable ones:

  • Gongor - turtle illustrations and logo
  • LayerLab - UI, Item icons
  • Suriyun, Omabuarts Studio - Animals and companions
  • Myself - various miscellaneous art

Ah okay haha! My sarcasm detector was faulty and didn't catch it XD, cool :)

Copy pasting from my other response. But either way it was reported that v0.56.1 doesn't have the issue, so you can try that out.

From my other post: To be absolutely certain and treat this seriously, I ran the previous version (v0.55) as well as v0.56 through VirusTotal, an anti-virus scanner.

On VirusTotal, 0 out of 62 security vendors have flagged anything malicious, so it appears to be a false positive flagged by Microsoft Defender. Attached the results below:

A player also very helpfully dig some digging for me and sent me this from reddit which I will also attach here:

TLDR:

It’s a false positive triggered by Defender’s AI pattern matching, not a confirmed infection.

Hi there, this was already explained in a previous announcement as well as a comment here. The game is moving onto Steam so it is to disable new purchases on itch while allowing older users who had purchased the game to continue get access to updates and this was the only way to do it.

I have sent an email to itch.io to do this in a more elegant way but there hasn't been a response in two weeks so for now the less elegant solution is to set it to a maximum price to prevent that.

I am still waiting for itch.io's response.

Hi there, I've already verified this with VirusTotal, you can check the other comment - it is a false positive by Windows Defender and you can google the exact error itself or check reddit threads that confirm that it is a false positive.

As for price tag, this was already explained in a previous announcement as well as a comment here. The game is moving onto Steam so I wanted to temporarily disable new purchases while allowing older users who had purchased the game to continue get access to updates - I have sent an email to itch.io to do this but there hasn't been a response in two days so for now the less elegant solution is to set it to a maximum price to prevent that.

Yup. Thanks to fortas for the explanation - I have already contacted itch.io to do this in a more elegant way two weeks ago, but they've yet to respond.

Hi there, I have just pushed out v0.56, let me know if it works. I didn't change anything so if it works it might be that the previous version is a false positive as it's the same build but with new content

Hi let me check this out - I haven't changed my build process and there were no major changes so it seems like a false positive (I did have a Windows Update but that's about it) - I'll push out v56 shortly and see if anything's changed!

Thanks, glad you love it :)

Heya dan, thought I'd let you know that in the latest v0.43 update, several equipment bonuses are now multiplicative - gold%, exp%, HP%, MP%, regen%, damage% are all multiplicative!

This makes equipment boost stats greatly all the way up till late game! :)

Wow! Thank you for playing and glad to hear it lived up to your expectations!

If you've had any feedback, do feel free to leave them :)

thanks for the feedback. I believe you're looking at the wrong game though as what you're suggesting is the opposite direction of what the game is trying to achieve. But I wish you all the best :)

Sorry I don't disclose my personal email as it can be used for spam, hope you understand.

Like I said, I am open to listen to any specific feedback to improve the game here.

Could you be more specific which environment needs work?

Hey there! Thanks for pointing this out, you are absolutely right - I've checked and equipment do start to fall off.

I am considering making equipment a separate multiplier, but for now in the next v0.30 update that will release later today, I have made a quick adjustment as a start - for Regen stats, I have buffed equipment bonuses by 10x, and I will progressively make further changes to the equipment to make them worthwhile.

Oh my god! You defeated Lord Biscuit within like seconds of it appearing!! :OOOOOO

I should totally display a timer to let you see how fast you took to defeat Lord Biscuit!

hey there, if you have feedback about the game, you can actually let me know here or on Discord.

I am very actively developing the game and push out updates frequently, so if you have genuine thoughts about how the game can be improved, do feel free to share them with me. Thanks for playing Siegeturtle!

Wow thank you for the detailed review! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the game!

And yes turrets and light candy army are very strong! Lord Biscuit's HP was initially meant to be a lot higher, but since it was a jam I decided it was better to tone it down. I also ran out of time trying to give Lord Biscuit more abilities haha.

Will check out the full screen thing in the browser, cool and big thanks!

Will add a new stat "ignore enemy defense" that will appea on a new equipment type or from other sources!

Heya! Seems we already met on Discord but just wanted to reply here too to let everyone else know that the description has been improved in v0.30 to say "excess crit rate after 100%''!

Hi there!

The cannon does not have the ability to crit, but this is going to change in the next v0.30 update tomorrow! Cannon will be able to crit after this.

Blinding Fury doesn't cast on normal monsters indeed, only on bosses, sentinels and dungeon bosses! I will add a description to the skill effect to mention this in v0.30, sorry for the confusion!

Heya! Thanks, am glad to hear you enjoyed it!

hey there! Glad to hear you look forward to the Steam version and thank you for playing!

I will share more details about it in time to come so stay tuned on the game on Steam for that :)

Hi there! Can you share more about the issue? Is this referring to gold from offline progress or monster coin drops? Additionally does it occur with specific monsters or from specific sources? Are there any errors that appear on screen when loading the game on Linux?

Unfortunately, I don't have a Linux to test this specifically, but if I can get more details to reproduce the issue, it can greatly help me look into it to work on a fix!

Regardless, I am updating the game to v0.29 in a few hours later today, perhaps you can try updating to the latest version to see if by any chance it fixes it.

Thank you so much for the understanding and the feedback!

Hi there! Yes, the savefiles will carry over! When the full version releases on Steam, your progress here will continue there! :)

I will be adding this popup in v0.29 that releases today to clarify on this point!

Thank you for the kind words! doing my best to keep on top of things :)

If you haven't already checked out, I've pushed v0.27 yesterday which fixes more issues and also adds some new skills.

v0.28 has just been pushed. Fresh out of the oven so I've not posted the devlog yet but I will soon - it adds more quality of life changes and fixes even more bugs haha.

Hi! You are correct - ascension is only available in the full version -  coral is currently not obtainable and is tied to ascension in the future Steam version!
