art and vibe are on point, sadly thats most of whats impressive with this game. its pretty bare even for incremental games... i feel like you could have fleshed this out more. still though game looks great, id come back to play again just to admire how this game looks. oh also your game window isnt scaled properly.

Your art is fantasic and I really enjoyed the game concept. I feel unlike many of the other games in this Jam I played, you kinda build a world with this one and I really enjoyed that part of it too. Your page and background to the game says so much.

Hm. I like this game for its concept — the art is also impeccable — but the gameplay leaves something to be desired. I feel like you could have fleshed it out a bit more rather than just using flat multipliers and randomness. Even with the forced use of more risky strategies, I found myself using Flyers and the 1.5x boost ability consistently got me over the threshold. Also, at some point, I got a bug where the menu completely turned black and didn’t give me any abilities to use. All in all, it definitely has potential, but it’s maybe not my favorite game in its current state.

Presentation is great for this: Love the art direction. The gameplay is a bit confusing to me, and there's some weird formatting with the web version. A bit clearer wording on the abilities/a bit more direction on what is happening (having everything on one menu makes it a bit vague on what exactly I'm doing) would benefit this game greatly. There's a good game here!

You’re right — I have heard the web version formatting can be a little funky, and I am also realizing the single menu presentation makes the game harder to understand. We’ll definitely keep it in mind for a clearer version post-jam..

Very interesting and kind of scratches that balatro abilities/luck/math itch. I am a bit confused about some of the abilities and how they work but I'm looking forward to figuring them out on more playthroughs (I chose a 1.5x multiplier which should have taken me over the requirement, but it didn't seem to do anything. I may have misread it). The styling is absolutely excellent as well. Really well done for a jam game.

Thanks so much! Really glad the style scratched that Balatro itch. Some of the abilities (like Insider Tip) are a bit unclear right now — you didn’t misread it, it just doesn’t communicate itself well. That’s super helpful feedback, and something we’d like to clarify post-jam.

I really thought this was going my complete favourite game of the jam, but the gameplay stops me. I love the theme and the art and everything, but the gameplay. The gameplay isn't even that bad, but it contrasts so much with everything else. I don't even know what about irks me so much, I think it's that it feels like there's no strategy. I can't find a way to use the investment or the other boosting effects. I hope you can fix this, because I would love the end result

Thanks for the honest thoughts. I can see how the gameplay feels like it lacks strategy. I think it comes down to how we implemented luck. We knew luck was important (it’s in most roguelikes and strategy games), but usually luck creates the situation the player has to solve, while strategy gives them the tools to deal with it. In our case, luck directly decided how effective your ability would be, which gives players less sense of control. If I could redo this project, I’d definitely rethink how we handled luck to make choices feel more strategic.

I like the art style of the game. The sfx is very well implemented, feels very tactile. Gameplay is a little confusing, but it does have a very interesting layer. I think the player could have been introduced to that layer a bit more smoothly. Overall, this is a nice concept that could turn out super fun. Also the music bangs.

Finally a game that lets me fulfill the fantasy of being a cult leader plantfluencer. It was good fun :> a sort of incremental game with a unique twist making it more puzzle-y. At first round I didn't understand that i was swapping (or upgrading) my powers but i understood pretty quickly afterwards. However the biggest thing thats missing right now is the ability to view your current abilities before making a choice for which new one to take. If there was a preview button that lets you see that that would've been a great addition. Other than that fun stuff, love the plant guy's sprite

Stunning visuals and atmosphere, although at one point the music does cutoff and never returns. I did find the beginning somewhat confusing as I didn't notice when I was swapping or upgrading or buying, but eventually I figured it out. Overall great job!

Thank you for the kind words! Sorry about the music cutting off—I am genuinely shocked that happened. I never got that bug during development. I know the music goes quiet for a portion of the track, I will look into it.

Slick visuals and music - and main character! Overall, the gameplay is indeed confusing. I'm not sure exactly how to remedy it, but something about the way the upgrades, swaps, and plays are all *presented* the same way seems to be the problem. The typed text up top attempts to clear up which action you're taking, but the actions all being framed in the same list of 3 every time doesn't help much.
The concept and art are there - just needs a bit of onboarding! That's a good place to be in my book.

I liked the art style, but like others, I initially didn't fully grasp the impact of our choices on the game. I also couldn't find full-screen mode, and the game was a bit small for me. Other than that, it's a nicely polished game.
