How does the game fit the theme?
In this game, you enter the rat race in hope of rising to the top of society, where countless other rats have died trying. RIsk it for the biscuit means risk death for the betterment of life. Maybe this time, it will be different
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used a character controller and main menu we had made prior to the jam, but they were heavily modified. Also we used some textures, 3D model and SFX taken from online. See credits for details.
How many people worked on the game?4

Too bad we didn't have time to put in THE GREAT ENEMY
hey that was unique and fun xD simple design but well executed! loved the voice acting
Thank you!
I really like the atmosphere, the 2D visuals are really cool. And I found the voice acting amazing, it adds so much polish! Good short story, I really had fun, great job!
Thank you for trying our game out
I have rise as DIE ÜBERMAUS! Very cool sprites in 3d dimension. Great work with lighting. Last lvl was really hard for me, possibly due to difficulties in spatial orientation and sliding, but its ok
Thank you!
Would play again as Sigma Maus. 4.3 / 5.
Thanks for trying it out
Wow what a cool game!
The doom like mouse with modern aesthetics, and the lighting work on the mouse.
I really like the dark atmosphere, the sounds, and the main menu aesthetics.
The only issue I had was depth perception, which is usually an issue with 3d platformers
I would suggest adding shadow to perceive where I am going to land.
Congrats on a really cool game in a single week.
Thank you for trying it out, the shadow would have solved quite a bit of problem
Really cool platformer game. Interesting way to unite pixel art in a 3d World, I liked how the jump is precise so I only died when the issue was totally mine, the story is short but cool, and the level design is the main thing about this game, I think you made a good job! I only would say that you could do more parts to the single jump, I mean, once I discovered double jump it seams that every jump now needs the double, making the single jump to loose its purpose. Other than that, very well made game!
Thanks for playing :D.
I understand that would be neat to use the single jump a bit more. The originial plan was to have a slower approach:
1. Opening -> Menu -> Game Goal Hallway introduction
2. Single jump introduction -> Single jump challenge
3. Double jump introduction -> Double jump challenge
4. Dash introduction -> Dash challenge
5. Final stage: Ultimate challenge.
But game construction-wise there are only 2 of us (and we are pretty new to Godot to boot) that's still quite a number of levels to build for a jam (which we barely made it the current number) and time is always of the issue
Yeah I totally understand, usually I write feedbacks as a suggestion to a possible update after The Jam, so You don't need to bother about what I Said for now. You guys made a great job
It seems we start from an underpriviliged position, being a mouse in the rat race!
Overall, a very nice platformer with great esthetics - the lack of light makes it a bit difficult at times, but I suppose it can be treated as part of the metaphor :)
Thank you!
What an atmospheric game! I really loved the metaphor. I haven't seen many submissions that can truly be called an artistic statement - yours is one of those rare, unique games. Best of luck
THANKS!
Really enjoyed the voice acting!! I also really like the aesthetic and the theme it was quite silly and actually kind of cool with a bit more polishing!! The minimalist design with a palette that helps highlight the goal/reward is such a greatchoice! Awesome work on this game <3
Thank you!
I gave this 5 for everything. It's giving PS2 movie game, and I love everything about it! I am the Uber Maus!!
You are indeed DIE ÜBERMAUS
Very cool art style - suits the game narrative really well. Although the 3D physics is a bit challenging for me, I still enjoy being an ambitious rat and running around. Overall a quite immersive experience. Bravo!
Thank you!
The setting is great, I love it! The gameplay felt pretty solid. Platforming felt a bit difficult, but then again, I don't play 3D Platformers, so that's probably just a skill issue. Amazing sprite-work and voice acting!
No problem :) I have skill issues too!
The atmosphere of the dark game is excellent. The movement isn’t very clear. There’s some inertia and the floor feels slippery. But the frequently placed checkpoints gave me a chance.
Thanks (^^)
I like the mood and the vibes! Gives more stakes to the pit jumps! The power progression feels balanced too!
Love the concept of mixing 2D with 3D! Great entry! ✨✨
Thank you for trying our game out
awesome game! The visuals and sounds are cool and gives an ominous vibe to it, matched with the dark and red tones. The controls are smooth and responsive. Good learning curve, the mechanics are introduced in a way that is understandable. This has good replay value. Congratulations! keep it up!
Thank you for trying it out
Great story, Great visuals, Great creativity!
But dude, stop, your voice is very asmr XD (Ear nourishment)
// The tutorials are a bit too long tho. Overall, this is a very good game! > v<
The tutorial was made a bit long so it introduces mechanics slowly, after all not everyone is a game master nor got the intuition of years of platforming.
I got one of my friend complained that there's not a tutorial to jump so he did not know how to (I gotta admit he does not play PC game too often) XD, I made these so maybe he could play it
I played this for far too long! I had a ton of fun and beat the game( in like 20 mins). My few gripes with this is firstly the dash, while I found a way to use it in the last jump and during it tutorial, mostly I would just avoid using it in fear of overshooting. The second is the depth perception, tho I have no clue how you would go about it, I would sometimes think the character landed on the platform only for them to fall because it was a little behind the platform. That on top of slippery surface caused alot of deaths XD. Other then those 2 things I enjoyed the overall experience, the mood was great, the voice acting was fantastic and the game is challenging to beat. Great job!
I guess we need a shadow :) Maybe that gives you a better idea of where the character actually is?
I do like the way you introduce mechanics one by one. And gameplay wise it's a pretty neat 3d platformer (which I suck at). My only complain would be the lighting. I know it's supposed to be a part of the atmosphere, but it' too dark for me to see a lot of the platforms.
Don't worry. I too am a proud member of the "I suck at platformers" gang.
Yeah, the web build has its issues. Try the windows build and let us know whether you liked it or not!
Cool idea , game, visuals, but the walking felt a bit slippery though
Thank you!
