I'm so in love with the visual style and the colors! The game is really fun, it's a great risk-reward. And the items add depth to the strategy, I thought it was really clever. Sound effects were nice too!
I played the web version (in full-screen mode) and I could use the items without any issue! But the game crashed when I won, there was an error message displayed in the browser, so I couldn't reach the end. I don't know if it's a bug or if something went wrong with itchio. Anyway it was really fun, I loved playing, great job!!

Thanks for the detailed answer, it's a pity that some kind of glitch happened, I hope it didn't spoil the impression of the game too much

It's a solid russian roulette game so far! Love all the gagdets and the feedback from each. The visual is pretty amazing too. My concern just this game had no main menu that startled me when iam already fighting the old man. Great game!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, we decided to immediately immerse the player in the thick of the action right at the table. Goblin doesn't like to wait long, but maybe in the post-jam version we'll try to expand the game and add more enemies and items and menu etc

Really fun game! I love the deduction and risk aspect of it and I feel it hits the theme right on the money. Had a lot of fun playing!

The game felt very buckshot-roulette-esque, wasn't expecting something this fun considering how few ratings it has. Definitely underrated and could hopefully be fleshed out into a deckbuilder-type thing in the future!

Thank you, your feedback is very valuable

Fun visual style for sure, I’m a sucker for goblins though. I do wish the items worked consistently, they didn’t on desktop or web build for me. I’m not sure it felt like I had much choice in whether or not I was taking a risk, so the theme didn’t quite work for me, but I get what you’re going for. The song was a little repetitive but still a good lil jam. Nice job :)

Buckshot roulette but with cards and a lovely art style.

The gameplay isn't really risky, as you are forced to engage with it, and whether you should draw or deal the card is a matter of basic probability.

An idea on how to make the game fit the theme more: kind cards heal 1 HP, and you have the opportunity to discard cards so neither you or the opponent get the damage/heal effect. This way, both trying to heal yourself and damaging your opponent are risky, and the player having the opportunity to disengage conflict means the risk is all the more emphasized.

Of course, this is just one idea out of many on how to improve the game, but I hope I got my point across.

Thanks so much for the detailed review!
We're actually already brainstorming ideas for the game's development after the jam. For this limited timeframe, our main focus was on building a solid core experience.

Although I didn't figure out how to use my items I still enjoyed it. Also nice art 👍

Developer

Developer(+1)

Nice Game! I really like the art. The sound and timing are also really nice.

Love the art! Is there a way to make it full screen? I wasn't able to view the whole game and was missing out a lot of the beautiful artwork. I was also unsure how to restart my game, though that may be due to not going full screen.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback, the bug was fixed, there is no restart in the game, only through loss or win
