This game was incredibly creative and unique! I could really see the inspiration from the Stanley parable here. The main mechanic was really fun. I'm not sure if I've even beaten the game or not, but I've collected 9 working words/phrases, so I think I'm at least close enough. Incredible work for only 2 days!
Holy! My favorite yet from this jam! I Enjoyed this game alot, it definitely had it's Moments!
Thank you so much! Was wondering if you potentially had another way of downloading your game?? I love "metroidbranias" I'm on a Mac at the moment, because I'm traveling for my job. would love to try and rate yours before the jam ends!
Aw my apologies! I don't have a different way to download it, but I appreciate the thought more than anything :) I also am in love with this genre of game!! Have a great day!
Incredible concept nice job!
Wow. It's a short game, but there's a lot to say about it.
[SPOILERS]
Everytime you make it a step further, you get a very rewarding "Ah-ha!" feeling. It starts first when you understand you can type words into the void, then that you can type multiple ones, etc, and eventually, when you understand where the final words are... Wonderful.
The visuals are simple, but at least everything is understandable. I liked the music that plays when the loop is close to restarting as much as I hated it (because it meant my current iteration was close to the end). ^^
The only thing I would complain about: fast typing in the void. English is not my main language and even though I can type relatively OK speed-wise, I had trouble getting three words in before the loop restarted. This wasn't game-breaking for me, it just took some retries until I got it right, but I can imagine some people could be blocked because of it.
Apart from this small flaw, I really liked your take on the theme, and was very touched by the ending message, great work! =)
(Btw, who is "she" that waits for me in the abyss? I tried to jump into the void at the end of the plane with MOVE + ALONE but there was no one below :c
Open-ended easter egg?)
Thank you! The music switch and intensity really was inspired by "Outerwilds" So I'm glad you enjoyed that haha. It builds a sense of urgency.
I apologies for the short void type space. I was considering extending it but I wasn't sure if adding more time would annoy players or make them feel like it took too long. But it's something I'll take into consideration to patch up once ratings are over! So thanks for the feedback.
Also, again, thank you very much for your kind words; it means a lot! :) In reference to that, I added that and didn't expect anyone to even bother to check up top the pillar. I more so added it just for my sake in reference to a really short game I released on Steam a few years ago. This jam was actually the first time I've come back to developing any game in years. So the game I'm referring to is "Riley in the Abyss." I wrote more so as a little reminder to myself. I need to go back and fix some bugs that are within the game, but I just haven't had time. The story is also left a bit ambiguous, and so it's a little easter egg/ call back to that game :) So is, if you type in "Abyss". another little callback/ easter egg. I wanted to add in more little scenes and phrases but I just didn't have anymore time!
And you know, I was going to add something else as the player fell off the plane, like a text under the plane but at the time, I was having issues with my rigidbody acting weird and gravity not working, so i scratched it and put the never***** text. BUT, I ended up getting gravity to work properly and kicked myself for not adding the idea in :P
Thanks again for your comment!
Ahah, you didn't expect people to be stubborn enough to poke their noses into every possible place, and you were wrong! >:D
Ah, I see! I tried ABYSS but couldn't find anything (apart from, you know, 👁️), so I figured it had to be an easter egg, but didn't know what for, I understand better now ^^
So jumping off into to void was intended! It's unfortunate that you couldn't write anything there on time, because it would have made sense within the established mechanics to hide a new word under the ground, but yeah time is never on our side during jams. ^^
No worries, thank you for this little experience! =)
The game is very good. But there are a couple of shortcomings, your volume settings do not work at all, the first time I almost went deaf.
POTENTIAL SPOILER
Also, you really need to do something with the time in void, because I can't type so fast in English, I simply could not normally understand whether I was doing something correctly or not, there is also a problem with the text that needs to be written, it would be nice not only to highlight such words in color, but also to convey the meaning in color (If this is not so, again I did not understand this), for example, one color means that you can write this word, another that it is part of the game mechanics, etc. The game has a very interesting concept, but for me personally these problems broke the perception of the game (if anything, it was not me who gave the rating, but my friend who completed it after I could not, I think he perceived the game completely differently), if the game is improved, I think it could be a very good project
thanks for the feedback, unfortunately I only had about a day and a half to work on the main mechanics of this. I probably should’ve implemented code to adjust the second half of the audio but I only had time to make it reload the scene so the audio would essentially stay the same after each loop. I’m sorry if you didn’t have a good experience with it but thanks for playing! I’ll definitely look into fleshing out the code when I have more time :)
It's sad that you had so little time, because the game has a really good concept, good luck with its refinement.
I’m happy with the outcome and have had good compliments despite the time frame. Can’t help being busy unfortunately. Came up with the concept while I was painting and tried to rush my work to get home to work on it haha. I’m out of state away from my main computer to make adjustments at the moment but I will play your game when I get off work later on my laptop. Thank you for taking the time to write!
Very creative and a fun puzzle to solve! Was afraid of a jumpscare the whole time I played this haha
haha no jumpscares! Just a bit of anxiety with the second half of the music added. Thanks for playing!
It was fun I don't know if I could figure out everything tho. Good game.
Wow that was something special! I am impressed with your implementation of the theme. Feels so smart and fresh! I had fun solving the puzzles (and a bit of stress as I had to type really fast :D) Maybe a couple extra seconds for typing (or climbing) would be great to have haha
I think I would only wish to know a bit more about the character! Or maybe I wasn't attentive enough to understand why we are cleaning up x)
A question about the ending: is there anything else I can do after never***** screen or is this the actual ending?
Such a great job!
Thank you! I tried to implement combined words to help with feeling rushed but I was bouncing back and forth with adding a few more seconds vs it being too long of a dark screen for newcomers of the game. As for your question, yes, there is one last thing you can type after the screen you got to after never*****

Major hint/ spoiler: read the message in never***** and look up… if you’re still confused, look at the game description. Something should stand out ;)
ahh thank you for the hint! I got the ending, yay :)
i didn't have the time to play longer but i will come back
Very unique concept, really! I won't spoil anything in the comment, but it really scratched an itch in my brain! I think this game can benefit a lot if the visual artstyle is improved upon, otherwise the concept is so good. I would love to hear your thoughts on my submission too:)
Thank you! I had very limited amount of time unfortunately so I didn’t really have time to work on art, I figured the most I could really do with were my main mechanics and lighting/ music to accommodate it. Tried to go with a Stanley parable/ beginners guide vibe. Will definitely try your game after work today! :)
Yeah it is definitely hard to do everything in such a short time, completely understandable. You have come up with very a creative gameplay loop anyways and its very good for a game jam. Kudos!
I’m confused
with what part? The start of it? There’s a hint in the screenshots
Awesome experience! It's amazing how you tackled the theme!
Awesome, super creative game. It crushes your expectations the second you get the main gimmick and creates this awesome feeling of discovering something strange. Loved every second of it. Inspired me a ton.
The idea is quite creative and out-of-the-box! The atmosphere of the game was very mysterious.
BEST short game I've played.. LIKE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE
I had a lot of moments were the void is about to happen, but then I see what I needed to find, and then the screen cuts black, and I'm like "oh"
POTENTIAL SPOILER 😱
I haven't completed the game as far as I know, I've gotten to NEVERALONE but I think what the text is saying is that I just exit full-screen mode to escape the loop, and in the games description it says It is best experienced blindly and in Full Screen Mode! so I think that's it.
Correct me if I'm wrong so I can take another look and try to figure it out.
you beat it! I wanted to add more but I didn’t have anymore time :( and I thought leaving it this long was decent for the jam since there’s so many games. Thank you for playing! Your comment gave me a big smile :))
Really cool! I fell in love with this little game, definitely one of if not the most creative game I've played during t. Hope you do more of these in the future!
