Nice consistent art direction, and the story kept my interest through the whole thing. Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Nice game! Very much liked the choice in BGM, which fit the neat visual style and story very well. Probably gonna add that song to a playlist later. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Yeah that song is pretty neat! Thanks for checking out my game :)

Submitted

very good chose of music and the game have so much mistery. i loved

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted

Very cool game! And great mastery of that old movie atmosphere :)

It makes you want to explore it further and add a puzzle or riddle dimension. Because you really get the feeling that this person is not your friend and is enjoying putting obstacles in your way.

Well done for creating all this in such a short time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your kind words! Glad you liked the atmosphere, it was my main goal to create an artistic stylised look. I would have loved to add some puzzles and harder platforming too but didn't had time. Maybe I'll update this in future. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

the story idea is very interesting, i love surreal stuff like this. But i think you could expand on it a bit more. the art style and the music are so fine too.

Developer(+1)

Yeah your right, I would have definitely expanded it more if I had more time. Sadly time didn't allow me. Thanks for checking out!

Submitted

the aesthetic looks so good! too bad I can't play it as I am not on windows :/

Developer(+1)

Ohh too bad! I would try to upload web builds too from now on. Glad you took your time to take a look anyways!

Submitted (1 edit)

Wwow, that was an amazing experiance and a very unique one at that as well. The asthetic, the atmosphare, the music all makes it very creepy.... in a good way of corse. I'll be honest, I didn't really get the deeper meaning behind the looping bed, if there is any. Maybe its a methaphore for depression? But anyway, well done it s a very great concept with a strong base to build upon!

Developer

Thanks for your kind words! The game is up to player's interpretation, you can believe the metaphor as whatever you feel like. Maybe its about depression, maybe about escaping mundane reality, or maybe its a dream world, who knows!

broooooooooooooooo i loooooovvvvvveeee this from the music choice to the art to the story great game absloutly adore it
i know this is lame but please check out my game its also about a loop in a dream!

Developer

Thank you and glad you liked it! I will definitely check your game too ;)

I like the creepy vibes you have got going on. Would be nice if there was a bit more to the platforming gameplay going on.

Developer

Yeah I agree with you 100%. I originally wanted to have puzzle platforming gameplay, but the art and vibes was more important for me so I worked on that first. I am a solo dev and the art is all custom for each scene, no tilesets for quick level development. Hence I had to sacrifice the platforming part, sadly. But at least I got the vibes like I wanted lol!

Submitted

Yeah solo dev can be difficult. I guess my priority was gameplay first, art last so that would explain it :)

Submitted

What a strange experience.

Developer

Yeah was trying to go with some creepy dreamy vibes lol!

Submitted

I love the visuals! You have some cool filters on this? It all fits the art style and music everything feels polished and it goes together nicely! Great submission!

Developer

Yes I am using some post processing filters such as film grain, gaussian blur and some other stuff to achieve this look. Glad that you liked it!

Submitted

That's so cool man!

Submitted

very atmospheric, the monochrome style, music and film grain made it feel like a creepy old cartoon (in a good way!)

Developer(+1)

Yes that was the goal;  to give it a creepy, very old cinematic film cartoonish vibe, glad to know it worked out like that! Thanks for giving my submission a try!

Submitted

I dig the monochromatic art style! The sudden jumps of the camera going from the ground to the platforming section is a little disorienting, but the platforming handles well!

Developer

Thanks for checking out this submission! Glad you liked the art style. Yes the camera work needs a bit of polish when player jumps higher than the screen size, however this sudden camera motion only happens at 2 places in the game and after the sudden jump camera should work good. This was something I saw during development too but had no time to make the camera follow smoothly. I will try to patch this after the jam.

Submitted

Nice atmosphere you created!

Developer

Thank You!

Submitted

Wow! Just opening the game, your unique graphics and story already attracted me.

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Absolutely loved the retro art style, it fits perfectly with the music and gives the whole experience a unique vibe. The story really messed with my head in the best way possible, it left me thinking! 🤔

If I could suggest anything, it would be to make dialogue skipping not trigger the jump, and maybe smooth out the camera movement during platforming, it got a bit dizzying at times.
But overall, great job! Super atmospheric and memorable!!! 👏👏👏

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out! Yes the dialog and interaction system is a bit rushed, I had made a choice to not use premade scripts, I scripted everything in the jam's time and had no time to QA test the code as I'm a solo dev. But I'll try to release a patched more polished version after the jam.  I'm just happy that at the end of the day nothing is game breaking lol!

Great little game, loved the art and music and the Neel's walking animation is really cute haha. The monochrome colours along with the music really give it a lot of atmosphere and personality, overall nice one!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Just some simple shapes and trying to adhere to a coherent art style really helped me achieve a decent result in time crunch. And yes Neel is cute so true ! :)

Submitted

The Atmosphere and art are amazing, The narrative also fits very well. Love the little camera grain effect on the game, as well as the black and white style featured throughout. Definitely enjoyed my time with this sweet little story. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks and I'm glad you liked your time with this game! I wanted to create a nice game atmosphere, however had to cut a lot of things due to time constraints. But still it's nice to see it being received decently. Thank you for checking out!

Create art direction and little story, creating a loop at the end. I encountered a bug where when the "sleeping" balls got knocked off the platform and landed on the evil woman, they would trigger the dialogue when I pressed up, and one point it glitched the player and made it glitch to the left making me fall. But once I knocked the guys out of the way and went back up there were no issues.

Great game, felt really complete. Well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for checking out! The white balls actually have bounciness so they can make the player bounce off if jumped on directly, it is intentional. Yeah the game has minor bugs relating to dialogs and interactions. I will try to upload a more polished version after the jam ends.

Submitted

Just to clarify, I know the ball interaction with the player was intentional, I just discovered that if the woman touches the ball it triggers the dialogue when pressing up. Very interesting bug.

I never bounced on the balls since it wasn't really needed, I just knocked them out of the way. Having optional physics interactions is always fun :)

Developer

Oh got it, yeah it would happen because my code checks for collision for dialog, but does not check the collision's source, lol. Very keen of you to notice it. I will definitely patch it if I release another version. Thanks for pointing out!

Loved the setting and the narrative. A great job managing scope, art direction, and programing for the jam.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! It was definitely a humbling experience managing the scope, I had thought of implementing so many things which I had to cut out since I had basically no time left. But I learned a lot here.
