I've seen a few idle/clicker games for this game jam and this brings back the active component... So it's an active idle game? Regardless. Found all the art assets to be really cute and customization options for the character were nice

Developer

thank you!

Wow amazing job! The bike ride was super smooth, and it's so funny when a mine blew me up lol

Developer

thanks!

Great art direction--I made sure to customize my bike to match my shirt and snazzy pants.

This was a really chill time.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

snazzy pants are a must

Very fun, and with a lot of content for such a short time! I wish the bikes were a bit more physics based instead of being so precise and slow - and the obstacles more forgiving to account for that - some more speed/momentum based gameplay would've elevated this I feel. Nevertheless, building tracks and then failing them in hilarious ways felt great - enjoyed it a lot!

Developer

Thank you! Totally agree, i was hoping to add some bike upgrading but ran out of time

thanks for playing!

Great Game, you really got a lot accomplished in a short amount of time. I'm not always a fan of race/driving style games but I really enjoyed how the player can set the difficulty and amp things up. Very tiny critique is that I wish you could delete single obstacles on the track without erasing everything. Art great, gameplay responsive, whimsical vibes, addictive loop. Not enough nice things to say.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a bunch! At about 4 am yesterday i decided not to add the single-item deletion but it was on the list haha

10/10 spawned a minefield at the shop and got attacked by a goose. Really great job, I dig the art direction a lot, how did you manage to accomplish this cool pixel arty 3d style?

Developer

thanks! You can scale up the viewport in project -> window settings I think? And then the unshaded materials help too!

Developer(+1)

If you’re curious I can go get the actual setting name in a bit and write up some steps! I tried a ton of different methods but this one is easy and works real good

Submitted(+1)

Wow thats really clever, I didnt know that was an option. Looks really good in game so it is definitely worthwhile! I am always curious when it comes to different art styles :D

Why are the geese so strong T-T Great game idea tho super cute reminds me of Untitled Goose Game style but 3d, I wish the controls were a bit more forgiving especially turning left and right or backing up felt difficult to me. Great job on the jam!!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

geese are not to be trifled with

thank you!

I really love the artstyle and the sound!

THAT GOOOSE hahahahaha Lovely feel of the game I loved the sandboxy design your track aspect of it
Great game feel
Ambience is also great And the fact the music changes and lets the birds a place to shine is really nice

Developer

thank you thank you

long live the goose

I love the music and artstyle, and the little "whoo!" when you go over the boost strip. I wish the race course wasn't so big - it starts a little slow, and it's disheartening to lose all of your progress if you hit an obstacle. As someone who's been attacked by geese while biking IRL, this game really resonated with me.

Developer

geese don’t mess around

Nice looking !

Developer

thank you!

Neat game! The art-style is very nice. It feels funky to just bike away from the shop menu, but I mean that it a really positive way. It's goofy and feels very in theme.

Developer

Thank you!

Fun game! I really like the mechanic of picking the obstacles that you will have on the next loop! I had a weird issue one lap where everything spawned way in the air. But other than that I had a lot a fun. It's a really polished game!

Developer

thank you!

Love this art style! Super inspiring, would love to know how you did the 3d pixel art look (guessing a shader of some sort).

Game is oddly chaotic and cozy at the same time. Great work!

Developer

thank you thank you!

actually no shader! with godot, you can go into project  settings -> window (i think?) and then set the scale up. a couple other tweaks to make it work but then flat colors make it look nice as well

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Ahh, thats awesome. I'll definitely try that out on a future game!

Developer

yeah give it a shot! If you’re curious I can go get the actual setting name in a bit and write up some steps! I tried a ton of different methods but this one is easy and works real good. Makes 3D modeling easier too because the imperfections don’t really show up

Submitted(+1)

sokpop vibes! love it - by the way, it would be cool if there was a little rotation to emphasize the act of changing direction, it would add an interesting gamefeel, but your game is really cool

Developer(+1)

thank you! there actually is a little bit of rotation but not nearly enough

Submitted

The Y-rotation is working perfectly. The rotation I’m referring to is on the Z-axis.

As the character turns, it should tilt slightly on the Z-axis to simulate weight shifting, leaning a bit in the direction of movement.

But again, very good game! If you could give some constructive feedback on my game that would be great too :)

Developer

ah I see, that’s a good call

I'm always a fan of building something from one perspective and experiencing it from another. I also like that game design of letting the player balance out difficulty and reward. I did end up building the track the wrong way around at the start, which only really mattered for the ramp, but one arrow would go a long way to indicate the intended counter-clockwise direction from the map's point of view. I also feel like the bike could be made faster, the pacing at the current speed is not my favorite. I also feel like the cosmetic options were a bit costly, given that they provided no gameplay advantage, but that might come down to who I am as a person. Overall, not a bad game, could definitely use a few tweaks, but I'd definitely be proud if I was the creator of this.

Developer

thank you!

those are good ideas

Submitted(+1)

This was so fun! I wish there was a lil box at the beginning letting you know the controls, but it's also fun figuring it out yourself. Looks 2D but is 3d! Great sense of atmosphere. Fun to earn a cooler track and lil guy. Overall a great time :)

thank you thank you

Awesome game!! The graphics are so special and the whole game has such a nice vibe to it. very cozy :) Also the physics on the bike are sick. I loved drifting around

Developer

thanks!
