This game is so cute, the art is amazing, I love that the cursor is a turtle, great job!
The game is really great! I liked how you guys tried to match the music with the environment of each level. However, I feel like once we get the double jump, we could easily complete the rest of levels in one go. Maybe adding some more obstacles to increase the challenge? I also never really used the dash in the third level, so maybe changing it to something like a health boost?
Oh boy it took me waay to long to accidentally find out the dead shells don't have gravity. I made the most cruel time consuming turte stack. Even though the gameplay became quite tedious. I was still invested in finding out what was beyond the next jump. Voice lines were funny but sometimes they were hard to hear because of the volume of the music and multiple of them playing at the same time. Cute and little harrowing experience. Well done.
What an incredibly interesting concept, Love the death and life loop. Your narration got a good chuckle out of me too, really well done. Took me far too long to realize that you can jump through shells.
Such a cute game!! I love the art and the turtle is so adorable (sad it has to die repeatedly in the beginning though 😔). Gameplay became much easier towards the end, and I also like the detail of making the ice more slippery and having the turtle lose health more quickly when on a glowing lava block :) didn’t really notice these details at first, but after a couple plays, I saw it. Really impressive!
Really cool and unique idea! I enjoyed playing. The music and atmosphere was awesome also.
The beginning iterations felt a little slow to get going, and it got repetitive playing the same part of the level over and over just to progress a tiny bit. After that I enjoyed it much more. Great job!
I like this game so much! In the beginning, I was feeling a bit bad about stepping on past turtles. However, after I realized that it was part of the game story, it all made sense! Thanks for the game!
Cute visuals and the audio with the voice lines are great as well. The writing is also both humorous and uplifting.
Unfortunately, I found this game has a lot of the same problems with the games that incorporate the theme similarly (which are very popular this jam), which is that they requires the player to loop back too much, or make the player wait too much, and it just got stale very fast.
Cute! I like the concept of using previous turtle shells to advance the game! I wished the turtle could make more of those first stair jumps on his own and that the turtle shells were needed a little more sparingly, but well done!

I really like the take on the "die to move forward" concept, it makes a lot of sense with the turtle shell and I like the generations idea. I feel that the game progression is a bit too slow at the beginning, it just makes you want to spam death to up your stats rather than actually playing! I had fun, and it looks polished, well done! :)

A nice take on the kill yourself to victory subtheme (although this one is more sad because turtle). Great narration and vibes in general, and I gotta say I absolutely adore the turtle cursor!!! Such a good game-specific cursor design. Super small detail but that really did it for me haha

Nice game.
Although it needs more thinging out. You can absolutely just spam the generations on start to get all the a upgrades and then do the game very easily. I think the leader board at the end are the generations, so that counters that strategy a bit.
Also I didn't need to place any shell in the second and third zone. And just run it with one generation.

Holy This game was soo good!! Everything the art, the music, the mechanics were top notch! Once i learned to B-hop i was moving like prime lebron. Jokes aside first i thought it was kinda hard but eventually got a hold of it. This deserves more rating. Great job!!!!

This was really cool!! Vibes are impeccable. The narration and music set such a nice intimate tone, and the fireflies give the whole thing a cozy twilight atmosphere. Just a really nice space to just hang out in. The concept was cool too, super satisfying to slowly build my way out of the level.

Fun game with a great story and narration :D 18 mins to complete, I do think it's a little on the longer side for a game jam game, but it was quite satisfying getting to the later levels and speedrunning through them faster than the narrator could finish the lines, so I had two lines going at once haha. The game was adorable with a nice song and lovely artstyle. I do think however the rate at which you 'evolve' could have been increased, as that is the main thing that dragged the game down for me. Great job!
Yay, glad you enjoyed! We did worry about it being on the longer side, but the power creep gets so extreme that most people seem to fly through the last two levels. We definitely need to work on balancing a bit more haha. Thanks for the feedback!

even the cursor is a turtle! good game, got all the way to the top. appreciated the upgrades in every level. Progress was slow, but so are turtles. The narration was interesting, but I couldn't hear it half of the time over the sound of the music. at the end, two narration tracks were playing at the same time.
