Brilliant use of the loop theme here. Admittedly, the learning curve is a bit hard to get used to at first, especially with looping the mouse while keeping its position in the area you want to land on. Once I got the hang of it, all I could think of was how I would dunk the next snowball-throwing child into purgatory while grooving to the music.

The visuals are cute and silly, especially the sprites of each character falling. The little hop that every enemy made when the demon landed on the ice was a bit of a small animation that I couldn't help but appreciate. I really relate to the cats in the background bobbing their head the entire time. The boss stood out to me the most, its design felt like some goofy knockoff Doomguy, here to slay the ice skating demon from hell! The dumb grin on his face always gets a few chuckles out of me.

I'm a huge sucker for the music and sounds used in this. The combination of the music and gameplay is way too good at making me come back for more. There were very few instance where I wasn't grooving to the music while trying to do maximum spins. Personally, I enjoyed the music from Stage 8 and onwards the most, as I'm a huge sucker for that synth kind of music in games. I always cracked up at the screams of each character falling into purgatory along with their facial expressions, especially the demon. The lines from the boss really got me hyped while grooving to the music. All of that combined with the gameplay makes me keep replaying stages over and over. It's amazing that you all managed to pull off this harmony between the sound and gameplay!

What really shines the most for me is the gameplay. The quick mouse loops with the small speed boosts after landing each jump kept me on the edge of my seat. Clearing each level after every attempt made me either want to retry the stage again for a higher score, or immediately jump to the shenanigans in the next stage. The possibilities feel endless when it comes to these stages! I can imagine players making custom stages for this and keep the game interesting. The combo meter is super satisfying to maintain while carving out holes. I was retrying the first stage so much that I'm on top of the leaderboard on that stage! I certainly wasn't expecting this game to keep puling me back every day, even after beating all the stages.

Overall, this is a simple but addicting game to me. I'm looking forward to any future developments if the game is receiving future updates. I can see so many different ways to play, like time-based stages and bonus points based how much ice gets cut off.

All in all, amazing work to everyone in the team! I now have a new game to obsess over for awhile.

Lovely stunning mechanics, but cos i dont have an external mouse, is there a way to do the jump without it?

Developer

With Click To Jump enabled in the pause menu you can also jump with space bar!

Love the game feel of spinning the mouse to get some air time and multiplyers. And those characters look cute!

Hillarious, super fun and probably the most creative game yet :D The controls are difficult, but a very unique challenge :D

Amazing game! It felt really polished overall. The game idea itself is quite amazing- the fact that the more areas you skate, the higher your chances of dropping is really good! The controls are nice, though I'll say the spin to jump did take a little to get used to, but after getting used, it feels really good! I really liked the different enemies that force you to not just skate and loop- but dodge too. The way you can pick between normal skating with little to no risk but low score, and skating with mouse spin, having harder control over the character, with more risk but higher score, feels really nice. It lets both more casual players and skilled ones enjoy it to the fullest. The visuals were really nice too, especially the animations! And I loved the impact those freeze frames gave! The boss fights is also really cool. The sound design are nicely done too, and the music as well. One slight issue is that on wider screens, the default Unity blue background can actually be seen lol, and the UI goes out of the screen, but other than that, extremely good game! Probably one of the best I've played so far!

Thank you so much for the kind words! Your game is incredible as well!

This game is fantastic ! The player character is very smooth to control, and the art and animations look amazing, I love how vivid everything is and how the lighting compliments the environment so well. The sound design also perfectly compliments the gameplay, and it was very satisfying to manage to catch multiple people in one loop, especially with how difficult it is (The final boss took me a lot longer than I'd like to admit) :)

Though I did make the mistake where I thought that the little kid was the protagonist at the start XD

Very cool and efficient ! I liked the scoring system, reminded me of a tony hawk vibe when you spin to get a highscore. Even though it was very difficult, it feels stylish

Omg I love this concept! Fun and simple gameplay with a rly polished look and visuals, this is a 10/10! The spin jump wasn't quite working for me, but I see the vision lol. It was great that you thought about that and added a toggle.

Developer

Thank you so much! Spin jump appears to be the problem for most people but im happy you were able to use the toggle

Very cool game! I really enjoyed the cool music and design of the game!

Ok, so. I have a confession to make: when I first lauched the game, since the focus in on the little kid, I though he was the main character. Then a bad demon arrives and tries to encircle me, oh no! And I try to dodge him but I can't figure out how to move "my" character! Wait, but it doesn't matter: the demon always ends up falling in his own holes, haha, I win by doing absolutely nothing!

It took me a good minute to figure it out. XD

But! Not counting this false start, the game is impressive! The concept is ridiculous and I love it, excellent execution, great visuals, simple yet very fun gameplay loop (heh), and I love the small details like the camera zooming in on new skaters to let you see the new challenge closer.

Excellent work to the whole team! =D

Hahah the same thing happend to me lol.
I was like "who is this demon guy? Why is he dying so many times"

Ah, so it's not just me! XD

This definitely appears to have been the problem for most people haha, thank you for playing and the kind comments!

Wow! This game is so polished and so fun! I loved everything about it. The game mechanic is fun, it looks really nice, and the music is an absolute bop (and it even has a built in scoreboard!)

It’s impressive how you managed to make such a polished and fun game in just 4 days. Congtrats!

This one checks all of the boxes for me. Loved the theming, it's the best use of the surrounding mechanic I've seen so far. You really nailed the game feel. It's challenging but it doesn't take ages to get right back into the action after a failed attempt. Super good job!

Developer

Thank you so much!

“Hell's Freezing Over” is nothing short of an indie masterpiece. A brilliant, genre-defying experience that fuses graceful ice skating with demonic elegance. Every detail is crafted with care: the hand-crafted, gothic-inspired art is stunning, with kill-able characters and hellish rinks that feel both sacred and damned. The soundtrack is hypnotic, and elevates every spin, circle, and infernal pirouette into something transcendent. Gameplay is fluid and intuitive, with momentum-based mechanics that perfectly capture the weight and momentum of skating, yet feel light and ethereal when chaining spins mid-glide. The control scheme feels tight and responsive, rewarding creativity and precision in equal measure. What truly sets it apart, though, is its fearless use of Christian symbolism: playing as the Devil—horns, tail, and all—skating not for destruction but redemption, adds a poetic irony that lingers long after the credits roll. It’s a subversive meditation on grace, rebellion, and the beauty of damnation. Reminds me of Tron.

The controls are really difficult, and it was really frustrating to touch the fire by one pixel after thinking I jumped. 5/5 for creativity. I especially love the art. Every animation is incredible, has so much detail, and its really funny when they die. Also fighting doom guy as the boss is hilarious. I couldn't figure out how to beat him though.

I didn't like the mouse controls but I still had fun. You executed this really well. Good job.
