Interesting ideas here. I like the flip flopping of being invincible (any hit will just send you back 5s) and being vulnerable (any shot will end you), though it felt too easy to just wait out the clock behind a wall if I got hit. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on ways to expand this to limit cheesing. I also quite liked the explicit need to hit guys with the 2 weapons, it did a lot to extend the fun despite only having 1 gun. Well done :)
Thanks for Playing!
I did plan to add a Speedrun timer and score system of some kind, just as a nudge that you're meant to play fast and reckless without forcing it, but ran out of time. The other thing would be to expand the enemy AI, as right now they do go to where they saw you even if they rewind, possibly chasing you down, but they don't search further or strategise.
Thanks for the feedback anyway =)
This is a pretty complex shooter but I like it! You've good good music, cool graphics, very nice variation on sound effects, great UI for the cooldowns, an in game tutorial that you can revisit, and most importantly cookies. The rewinding mechanic is confusing at first, but I think I got the hang of it. I think it's really interesting that if one person is in the rewind, the next person that gets shot dies because it's a paradox. I was wondering why have the yellow blaster at all if you have to shoot someone twice to kill them anyway, and I realized that lets you save your rewind. The robots are REALLY good at leading their shots which makes this game really hard until I realized the importance of the yellow blaster. The graphics style really reminded me of old 90s shooters which fit the vibe really well.
Awesome job!
There were so many written instructions at the start and I was like "oh boy, I dunno about this", so went ahead and tried running through and getting confused. Then coming back to the instructions after dying I felt like I had a bit more of an idea of what was going on, and I actually really enjoyed it. I still don't know I fully understand the paradox situation and the red ghosts that hunt, but I understood it enough that I felt like I could use it to my advantage and take out those no good cookie-hoarding robots. High marks for creativity! It was an original experience. Nice job!
Thanks for Playing! I think I knew when I was making it that I'd have a tough time explaining the mechanics, especially when I was running out of time and had to forgo a proper tutorial for just the quick signs. Glad it was still mostly understandable in the end lol.
I liked the concept and the presentation, but even when I dodged all the shots I got time looped (not to mention that dodging is quite hard). I don't know if it was intended or not, but I feel like it makes it less fun. However, that's my only major criticism. Congrats on accomplishing so much in such short time 👍
Thanks for playing! And yeh the enemies do harshly predict where you're going to be. I figured since the entire mechanic of the game is getting shot, looping and creating Paradoxes, it'd be a little uninteresting if the enemies had such bad aim that they just never hit you. Still Good feedback though =)
Big Goldeneye energy which is fun. Using time rewinding when getting hit is a neat approach, especially when it applies to both sides. I could see this expanding with more paradox causes and other types of weird devices to make this a truly unique FPS.
I really appreciate that you submitted an FPS cause honestly its the only type of game I'm really good at :D I liked the rewind being a death mechanic, and the enemies responded to the time jump also - had a good time. Thanks for sharing :D
Really fun!
I really liked the way the paradox concept was explored! Would be really interesting to see some movement skills as levels escalated in a full game :D
Cool concept and big fan of the graphics! Great job overall :)
it was easy to try and fun overall, I like it.
If possible, can you please vote my game and leave a comment too?
very clever concept of having the shots set you back in time! really love the classic PS1 aesthetic as well.
Thanks for playing!
Fun concept, loved that being shot only set you backwards, giving a really cool game flow, and loved the cookies :D
Can be a little easy though if you use right and left click right after each other as it kills the bots immedietly, so adding a timer after each shot would close this "loophole" xD
But yeah really enjoyed it^^
Thanks for playing!
The Right click does have a 3 second recharge as opposed to the 1 second left click charge. Think I was just paranoid of going the other way and making it too annoying.
My other planned feature was a Speedrun timer to encourage faster-paced, more risky gameplay, but I ran out of time to add it =P
Oh yeah, a speedrunning timer would work amazing here, I think that would also fix it :D But yeah I can see that, getting people stuck because things are too difficult is definetly not the goal xD
And really feel it with the time, I wish my game was thrice as long as it turned out^^"
I really liked this one! It really added onto the Looping theme when I died and played through the earlier parts but better. This is really fun! Congrats
Thanks for playing and Glad you enjoyed =)
It took me a while to actually figure out how to properly win. Was often confused. BUT it was super fun when I did. The mouse sensitivity was quite rough tho, even when trying to turn it up.
(Thank you for the oh so delicious cookies <3)
Ah, thought I'd accounted for Mouse Sensitivity enough. Guess I capped it too low
It might be a personal preference issue. I love VERY high sensitivity, so anything below a certain point feels a bit sluggish to me
The cookies were delicious
