How does your game fit the theme?
/// SPOILER ALERT /// In the game, the protagonist (Carlos) enters a futuristic bar and finds a misteryous guy and eventually talks with him. After some fights with the locals you discover that that mysterious guy is yourself from the past. Carlos defeats his past self BUT the game records the player's moves and stats. When the game restarts, on the next playthrough when Carlos reaches the final boss again he realizes the opponent is himself, as played in the previous loop.

(Optional) Please credit all assets you've used
We made all the art (models, drawings, etc), we only used mixamo for the player's animations.
We also contacted a composer who is our friend and asked him if we could use some of his music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4aGlswgMno) we may update the description for more credit details

Very nice game game! Currently watching someone play it on stream. Well done!

Ngl I expected loop interpretations like this game to be more common in this jam, but they're rarer than I thought.

It's a nice game with a system that can definitely lend itself to expansion in a post-jam update. I'd recommend making it so you can see what enemies intend to do during your turn (like how Slay The Spire does it), that way there's an added strategical element as the player can plan around the enemies instead of just hoping they'll do something specific. The sort of comic book style of the cutscenes is really unique, and the music goes really hard.

P.S. I'm either really stupid or I'm unable to find the boss music on Snake's YouTube channel. If it's on there, please tell me the title - it's by far my favorite track in this game!

Developer

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I'll look into Slay The Spire to get some inspiration for an eventual future update. I also sent a message to Snake asking if he uploaded the song. He said the name is "Butada" and he'll upload it on sunday of next week because he can't access his computer right now.

Enjoyed your game :) - for some strange reaso  I enjoyed the final "boss game music the most" - fighting felt a bit slow, but maybe because i played inside the web.

The graphics, sound design and humor are on point! I didn't have time to do the whole game but it seems really well made! Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

"Carlos punched a screen" cracked me up :D

Really fun game, i loved it! Love the style, the comics as cutscenes and the whole narrative lol (that guy looked too much familiar), the gameplay is great but feels a bit slow, maybe just shortening up the wait between an attack and the other would've worked better, but the ui, the music and sounds, really crazy! And even tho i have a potato as a computer, it runned pretty well, so don't worry, congrats again guys!

Developer

Thanks for the valuable feedback!

great game! had a lot of fun playing it. the vibe you guys set in the bar was immaculate with the music, camera pan shots, and the jumping idle animation Carlos does when he is in the fight. Thanks for making the game!

Incredible job!! The first playthrough I was feeling like the enemies were a little too easy to defeat ... and then it all came back at me when the real loop began. I almost wonder about what improvements could be made in the pacing/enemy strength in the first run-through if you continue to develop this title. Very impressive work and banging music!! :)

Game ran smoothly for me, had a good time with a lil story and hell a plottwist at the end! EPIC :D !!!

Even in spite of a couple of crashes, best game I've played so far of the Jam. Good work.

Developer

I'm sorry you experienced crashes, we'll investigate them after the jam. Thanks for playing anyways, it means a lot!

Very nice and really well polished for something made in four days.

Good luck with the jam!

Developer

Thank you genial! Good luck to you as well

Nicely done battle scene, and great art!

Game feel is great, though I felt some way to speed up animations would be nice. The loop theming feels a bit forced in though. The game itself was fun to play otherwise, I enjoyed my time with it!

nice job! i really liked the 3d models and the dialogue art!

Really cool camera work during the turn based combat. Great work!

Really good game ! Quite polished, nice art, nice story, everything's good ! The combats might get quite long but overall it's greatt

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we should have made the fights a shorter but we didn't have much time to playtest it. I'm glad you liked it!

Really cool art style, love the comic strip intro. The music was banging too. Turn-based combat can be a big challenge to implement, so the fact you guys made this all in such a short time period is incredible!

Developer

Thanks a lot!!

Thanks RPG!

Really polished with great animations and music. The comic parts looked amazing. The realisation that it was myself was a good twist, although I should've seen it coming with this theme. The fact that on the second run you play against your old build is a very good concept but the game is too repetitive for it to feel worth playing it again. If the battles were shorter it would've been better I think.
