Really cool game, I didn't know, you could embed scratch into itch. Got 51 candy by the way
I took more candy. The cops couldn't get me. I am a king of Halloween!
This is a great example of a simple game, that accomplishes what it went for. I especially liked the art style. It's super simple, but thanks to animation (even the little pumpkin bobs around, and the eyes point in the direction of movement) it looks great! Same goes for audio- the music changed when someone noticed me taking all the candy and I knew I was in trouble!
The usage of the theme is good, but maybe a bit straightforward. Some twist could have been nice, but then again- I'm nitpicking :)
Over all- cool game! I had fun!
It was really fun, but I got arrested for taking candy :( It's the most Halloween-themed game in the game jam! The movement is so smooth that I love it!
This is a fun little game that really leans into the Halloween spirit. The idea of playing as the uninvited guest yourself, sneaking around and stealing candy you’re absolutely not supposed to take, is a clever twist on the theme. It’s simple and captures that mischievous Halloween energy perfectly. The visuals are quite nice overall, though there’s some inconsistency in the art style that stands out a bit (?) Certain assets feel sharper or more detailed than others, which makes the overall presentation feel a little uneven. Still, there’s a clear sense of effort and creativity in the design. The environments have enough personality to sell the mood and I really like that you can explore the whole map to keep things fun.
The biggest issue for me is the audio balance. The music is really loud. It’s energetic, sure, but it doesn’t quite match the sneaky vibe of the game play. A softer, sneakier tune would have made the act of 'candy-stealing' feel even more satisfying. Adding some more well-timed SFX, like footsteps, or even a nervous “caught!” sound, could also elevate the immersion and humor of the moment. Gameplay-wise, it works fine for a jam game. The pacing is quick, and it’s easy to jump in and understand what to do. It’s a solid jam entry! A bit more polish in art consistency and audio balance, and this could easily become a polished little Halloween gem.
cool game! Doesnt really fit the theme that well but still very cool
Really cool game! The animations and music are top notch. Trying to evade the police was also fun
The art was fine and the music was fun. The movement feel really smooth (I liked the camera movement when moving). I got pretty into it, even if it’s simple, which is a good sign. The theme is also checked. Solid work here!
Nice work!! One highlight that I want to mention is the map. I kept exploring throughout the game, and besides stealing candy, this was one of my favorite parts of the game! I found tons of houses, a park, playground, and so much more. I think this focus on map design paid off well: it made the game vibrant and full of life.
There were blips in the art that weren't fully fleshed out, such as how the player could go on top of things they shouldn't. Scratch doesn't have any built-in layering, which makes it more of a pain to implement, but I'd reccommend it for next time.
The concept is also brilliant. It reminds me of Halloween in a game I used to play called Sneaky Sasquatch , where you could take the whole bowl if no one was guarding it. Maybe expand on this idea a little more, as while the gameplay was fun at first, but got a little stale after a bit.
Fun game and I'm glad to see another Scratch entry in this jam!
god this is cute! =D
movement and art looks rly good
Very cute! The basic concept is there and functional. Would love to see this expanded with more mechanics/levels/challenges. I think you should build on this foundation. The music is really funky, and the police running me over was hilarious!
Some very nice effects there! This is genuinely a creatively made game. I'd have never thought of an idea like that, haha. I actually forgot I was rating for the jam for a bit and got too invested into the game. Now of course, i got bored in a while, but that's not a fault from the game. The map is surprisingly well made, and some of the moving and shaking effects really add a good touch to how the game feels overall. I'd say that the music is a tad bit too dramatic for my liking--since we're literally stealing candy, after all (and i mean, the police comes after us if we steal too much candy. Can I really complain?)
Essentially, the game is simple, but it's the good, well-done type of simple. I didn't notice any breaking bugs while playing. (And i saw that turtle btw.)
Overall, really great game! Keep it up (Hscore=33)
