How does your game fit the theme?
The game is played inside a circle, you can't move out of it. So you are limited to the edges of the circle.

I spent way longer on this than i should have, haha. This was super fun. the integration of the circle limitation was done really well (moving around the circle, the beats coming from the centre). i also liked the background, and how the overlapping parts of circles were highlighted lol.

The game is super polished and smooth, and the music was great (of course). The visuals are really nice as well - i liked the colours, they blended well. The tutorial was also sweet and simple. I can't really think of an improvement, maybe penalise misclicks so players can't spam? otherwise, Gg

Developer

Thanks for playing, and thanks for taking too much of your time on it xD.

You are right about the spamclicking !

Really great idea! The song choice is very good as well! It's easy to play and nicely designed. The menu buttons also have a very good logic to em, to be able to select the songs you'd like to play and after select whether you'd like to play it regular or hardcore. Your game actually inspires me to do something alike, but not with a music theme, if I ever join a gamejam again. You have my sword, have my bow, have my axe and have my stars too! βπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Thanks for this amazing feedback glad you liked it!! If you ever do a gamejam just hit me up and be glad to join you aswel on your journey!! Hope the thing you do alike comes out wonderfull!

I don't usually go for rhythm games, but I had a good time playing this. There were times when the game felt really good to play, and other times things felt a little random. I would have loved to see the beats you have to hit do stuff like rise and fall with the music instead of just moving around so you have to move. Also, things felt weird to me during the slow sections of the songs. It felt weird clicking at mostly the same speed things were going in the fast sections. Maybe a circle beat you had to hold in these sections would have made it feel better? I'm not sure because I'm not too experienced with this genre of games, but thought I'd call out that it did feel weird.

Again, I had a good time playing it. Good job to you and your team!

Uhhh... I felt like I got my ass kicked with sound :)

The audio + video are really good! The vibrant colors fit the energetic tracks. The ability to add eyes and ears was really cute. My daughter says that any game can be made better with an addition of a cute little guy. I agree, so having a cute little circle dude was better, that just having a circle :)

The gameplay... I find it a bit difficult, but I liked it. There's one thing I would add  though. If you make a game with points, check out lootlocker.com and make those leaderboards online! Competing with others is what upgrades this kind of game from good to great, and from great to awesome!

The theme? I feel like there could be more done with it.

Over all- good game! Keep up the good work!

This was very fun! I liked the way you used circles really effectively in the background to make it look like a dance party haha. My only issue was on the second song the gameplay seemed a bit off from the rhythm of the song. Otherwise great job!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! And yea the second song has some offbeats cause I heard that alot. That's why I put it in the  2nd place so maybe people won't notice it. But I used a script to calculate and show the beats.

Its not the genre games I would usually go for, but it suprisingly had me hooked for some time. I especially liked the little loading animation will all the circle popping up. The color palette was a bit too 'wavy' for my liking, even though it is a busy background it did not really distract so that was nicely done!

Gameplay wise it was really smooth, it seemed super polished. The addition of the cosmetics made me laugh a bit as well. However, I was wondering if all the circles that pop out are actually on the right beat of the song, as a few of them felt a bit off or felt like they were added in between.

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you did enjoy even tho it's not your genre.
The colors can indeed be a bit much for the eyes I can trust that yea.

About the beats, they all should be on the beat of the music. But on browser they can be bit of.

Great little rhythm game, nice job team!! The level of polish in the menus is really nice; the shader toggle, challenges, and especially the wearable eyes and ears (lol) are great touches. It was cool to see all the different shaders you were able to make using only circles. The game loop is pretty intense and its satisfying to hit combos which you need in a rhythm game.

The art style is charming and cohesive overall. I really liked the pulsating effect of the blue circle when you correctly get the note, and wish there was a little bit more of this visual feedback, especially when you have a long combo. For example, maybe even something as simple as increasing the size of the blue circle pulse when you have a long combo would help to provide feedback of how good the players current streak is.

The music absolutely rocks, each song is a banger, and helps a lot in the overall appeal of the game. Great job composer!! I think you all did a great job of incorporating the shapes into UI and game sprites, I especially enjoyed the creativity of the little progress bar for each song at the bottom of the screen. I do think the theme is kind of "meh", as yes the player movement is locked to the circle but the limited space of the circle doesn't really affect the gameplay too much.

Overall, I really enjoyed this game and I think you did a great job capturing the intense, thumping gameplay of a rhythm game. And the music is awesome!! Great entry!

This is a really polished game, and kudos to the efforts put in to build the levels and also menu screens! I like the artstyle and the music is really good, which is sort of the backbone of a rhythm game, well done on that! Rhythm games are hard - both developing and playing! I made one recently for a jam, so i understand the technical difficulties especially in Web builds, so i think this was a really good achievement.

Im not sure about others, but i had some issues in the web version like it crashed a couple of times, but i could do a few playthroughs in the first level. The gameplay is engaging definitely, but i think there were some sync issues with the audio (web version) (either that or im just really bad at keeping beat :D) The difficulty is also appropriate for a jam game.

Well done, overall enjoyed playing this!

A simple but very enjoyable game, with smooth game play, catchy music (that you can change even), and thoughtful customization options that make it feel polished. While I didn’t love the colors and text style, the different difficulties and challenges show real effort and creativity. Chapeau! Here comes my honest feedback:

Game play / Fun / Engagement ●●●●●
It feels smooth and responsive. I especially liked the customization options and the effort put into adding different difficulties and challenges, which gives the game replay value! Hitting with the left mouse button didn’t always feel perfectly on beat (even if it technically was), but this is minor and doesn’t take away from the experience. Overall, a strong and engaging design.

Art Style / Visuals ●●●●○
The visuals are consistent, but personally, I didn’t like the color palette and text style that much. They don’t fit together well, also with the loading screen and make the screen feel a little overloaded at times. Still, the art gets the job done and supports the game play, so I give it 4 out of 5.

Audio / Sound Design ●●●●●
The audio is a highlight here. The music is very catchy and fits the game play perfectly, keeping you in the flow while playing. Sound design clearly received attention and really elevates the experience.

Theme ●●●●○
The theme is represented nicely, although I saw games where you get the idea of "limited space" even more. In your game this limited space is not the most present one, so I give a solid 4 out of 5.

Not sure it is just me, but on the web version it felt like the audio sync wasn't the best? Otherwise though, there's so much content here and it's a great little concept even if it doesn't stick to the theme particularly well. Visually it sticks to the shapes limitation and looks good - but it feels like there's something wrong visually - sorry but I can't put my finger on what it is at all! Maybe the font choice, maybe it is all the outlines, maybe it is the colours, I'm not sure but there's something that feels off.

Music is excellent, difficulty feels about right for a jam game, good job :)

Developer(+1)

Yea could be right on the syncing, idk what it could be that's why I put downloadable version aswel.
As for what's feeling wrong I don't know it could be the font.

Nontheless thanks for playing!

Very good game my dude! It was lots of fun to play and the different songs are all very well made. The visuals are also very nice and overall the game reminded me a lot of OSU! ~

The difficulty felt good aswell! I managed to beat the Final Track on Hard with a score of ~30.000 and it felt nicely challening. I noticed that its easiest to get perfect score by simply spamming left click which i think could be improved - ideally you would get a perfect score if the circles align and THEN the click is done.

The "Limited Space" interpretation could be improved upon in my opinion.

All in all an amazing game! Good job

Developer

Thanks for playing we took our inspiration from OSU aswell. About the spamming I thought it wouldn't be perfect the right moment you hit but I didn't test that before, so thanks for seeing that issue.

Looks great and with the different songs and a buch of challenges/achievments packs a lot of gameplay in a smaller gamejam game. Cool!

The theme is obviously captured with the confined circle, but the attachment to the thems is a bit light maybe

And for expanding it further it would be cool to add half notes, triplets, to get more variation then just following the main count of the beat.

Great job, impressive!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and the feedback. I was thinking of indeed expanding it with more notes variations like sliders aswel.
