Insane amount of work for a week. Felt like playing an actual complete game! GOOD job
Thanks! All our team worked very hard to achieve this:)
Congrats on making such a well polished game. I love the atmosphere and slight static over the screen, it works so well with this grungy style. The changing camera angles give a really unique visual effect, though the constant shifting makes movement weird since I have to adjust to accommodate for it. Looking at the game as a whole, you have a great idea with lots of room to expand upon it! I could totally see this on steam in the future!
Thank you for playing our game!
I can't believe you managed to make this game in 7 days, it was so good! The cutscenes were amazing, the 3d and visual style was also really nice. The camera sometimes worked kinda weird, since some transitions weren't very clear or there were some blind spots where I lost the character, but most of them were great angles and looked awesome.
On the first level, the stealth mechanic did not work at all, at least for me. There was no way I could lose the enemy and everytime I restarted it'd immediatly start following me, I still managed to avoid him, his attacks were too slow and easy to dodge. The other levels worked well tho!
I kinda wish there was a run button, the final sequence of the second level was a little underwhelming since the enemies followed me while I felt I was just walking haha
The story seemed nice and was told in a great way, but sadly my brain couldn't really connect the gameplay with the 2D cutscenes. (Maybe I'm just stupid)
I mentioned all the feedback I could think of, but the game overall was really really good and I'm still very impressed! Congrats, amazing job <3
I'm glad you enjoyed!
The very first enemy will chase you no matter what, the trick is to lead it back into the spike trap - but we could've possibly explained that a bit better
Every other enemy follows the 'as long as you haven't made a noise or touched it, it can't see you' logic, and that's where the crouch mechanic comes in!
As far as the story goes, think of the 2D cutscenes as the prequel events that led to the creation of the laboratory. It would've been nice to have more in-game items tying it all up, but we were already stretching ourselves pretty thin by the end of the 7 days
But thank you for playing it and leaving us some feedback!
This was a very cool game! you guys got a lot of mechanics into a week long game jam. I think the one thing with this genre of game is the camera angles and movement can be a little jarring, and in some places it was, but overall, it was not that bad. I liked the story and all the cutscenes. Good job on the jam
Thank you!
Yea it seems some of the cameras have some unintended results, but I'm glad you still managed to enjoy it
Neat game, very cool cutscenes and quite a lot of content in this game. great art and audio as well. the story didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, the expository cutscene with the dad felt pretty disconnected from how the game actually starts. I liked the resident evil style cameras, but the quick changes especially with angles gave me a bit of motion sickness. spooky monsters and great vibe overall
Thank you for playing it, and we appreciate the feedback!
Some of the camera changes seem to be a bit more extreme than necessary, but it's something to look into now that we've had feedback from people
Really impressive work for just a week...the 3d cutscenes are astonishing, i don't understand how you managed to have the time to do that and produce 3 entire well-crafted levels, very good job! I see we both were inspired to make a retro horror game and i love it.
That being said, i don't really get how the stealth system works, first encounter with the enemy in the bathroom i kept the aggro until the end of the level and it kept chasing me the whole time. Also the stealth tutorial is introduced too late so when it show ups you have already all the enemies chasing you... For the 2nd encounter opening the gates trigger all the enemies at once, which i don't understand why since it makes the stealth mecanic useless for the entire level ? Especially when you have no way to escape or kill the enemies, once they start chasing you they will never stop and it was pretty immersion-breaking to reach the exit with a slow zombie chasing me forever ahah.
About the camera system, indeed it's a little bit jarring sometimes, i got lost a few times in small corners and the controls can be confusing too since the axises can change from one camera to another. Also the 2d cutscenes are well crafted but they are pretty long and boring, since we don't see at first how they are correlated to the game. Like others said i think written notes to find in the levels could have made a better job.
We had a good team! That's how we got a lot done haha! (Also a Rokoko suit and Mixamo to the rescue haha)
Oh okay so! With the first enemy, he's just set to chase you and your meant to lure him back to the trap to the spike trap to kill him... But a lot of people don't haha! We didn't account for people gunning it to the generator with it chasing xD After he's dead you go to the generator then the other enemies spawn etc. All the ones after the first (And the very final ones in level 2) are actually blind. If you walk near them though and they hear the foot steps they will run to the spot they heard the noise. If they touch you then they know where you are and try to chase/murder you. So just hold space to quietly sneak past them. As long as you don't touch them they wont notice you! Same with the prison segment. As long as you stealth and move when they come out of the cells they wont find you! Just stay out of their path!
Anyway thanks a lot for playing and all the feedback :)
Thanks for the explanations, making a stealth system is always ambitious so i get why it was hard to make the player feel how it's working. Still a marvelous jam game ofc!
Really enjoyed Left/Over — the art direction and cut-scenes are top-tier, and the mood you created kept me hooked. The camera transitions and movement felt a bit rough at times, but that’s just small stuff in an otherwise fantastic jam entry. Keep it up! Rated + commented :)
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you liked it :)
Art was absolutely fantastic, especially the cutscene. The rest may sound really critical, but I feel that honest feedback is more valuable than nothing.
I really wanted to give this game more of a chance, because I could feel that there's some real craft going on and potentially something awesome further in, but I couldn't get past the locked gate in the first area even though I had the key, and I didn't want to search all of the event-less rooms AGAIN in case there was a second key, and I definitely didn't want to start over again if it was a bug. The voice-acting didn't work for me, because there really wasn't much emoting going on to really pull you into the character; I would have preferred to just read text. Some camera jankiness was also mildly frustrating.
Thank you for playing 😊 Just did you re check the bathroom stall?
WTH? Rinaka art is amazing, very high quality
Great environment and really good story
This is most impressive game I played on this game jam (Or in any game jam)
All of you guys did outstanding job on this game
(Not gonna lie... I’m kinda jealous 😅)
Hi! Thank you for playing and taking the time to leave a review! It means a lot to us and you honestly made my day :)

Technically impressive and stunning art! The story and cutscenes really drew me in and those enemies were creepy. Good stuff!
Thank you for playing!
Really impressive how much you've managed to do! Especially the cutscenes - you pulled them off really well, I loved the camera work.
Environments are very nicely modeled and dense with detail.
There were a few camera hiccups here and there - but nothing game-breaking.
I kind of wish there was a little bit more to the stealth mechanic - as it is, I was able to just hold space and walk past all the enemies on the level. Would be cool if you would add some clutter on the floor that would make noise and alert nearby enemies - that might make the encounters a bit more tense, I believe.
Also, those scenes with 2D illustrations - super well done, and voice acting, even if a bit amateurish, still sets the right mood. Amazing work!
Thanks for playing our game!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it :). That's a good idea for the stealth mechanic; we didn't think of that. Might do some polishing to the game post-jam, will be keeping it in mind!
Was really enjoying the game. Shame Unreal crashed on me lol. The cameras and control need some work. And many of the cutscenes could be a lot shorter. The one where the monster is introduce drags on a bit. And all the 2D flashbacks are very verbose.
Still, this is mindblowing for a jam game. A faithful recreation of classic horror games, with the graphics and camera angles to boot. I liked that you can't fight the monsters but instead must sneak past them. Looking forward to whatever you create next.
Thank you for playing!
Oh what were you doing when it crashed? Have not heard of any crashes yet (Usually just fps issues on older gpus).
I was just walking lol.
Oh no idea then xD What GPU are you running?
I don't have the words. I'm amazed at how much work has been put into this game. I have a very strong nostalgia for Silent Hill 1. I especially want to mention the quality of the animations and cutscenes, which are very rare at game jam. At the same time, your game looks like a full-fledged DEMO. You've done a great job.
I love Silent Hill 1 myself! My mother traded my copy of Toy Story 2 PS1 for it (ffs)... Years later I was brave enough to play it through though haha!
Appreciate the feedback thank you :)
Thank you!
Insane production values! My PC was definitely struggling with this game, but I made it all the way to the cliffhanger at the end. What I played felt like a solid opening to a PS1/PS2 era survival horror game 👏 The controls could use some tweaking though. They felt a twitchy and the changing camera angles don’t lend themselves well to modern 3D controls.
Thank you so much for playing :) What GPU are you using if you don't mind me asking? Being compared to a PS1/PS2 era survival horror game is awesome thank you :D But yep need to work on the camera change a bit xD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. Yes, it's a potato 😅
😂 ah yep makes sense now haha
Thank you for the game!
Very impressive work, especially the cutscenes and sound design. Nice atmosphere, too. I especially liked the elevator sequence; it was so strange and out of place, it made me feel creepy in a good way.
With that said, I couldn't say that I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The main character's movement felt too jerky and rigid; it actively took away from the feeling of dread and realism. Switches between cameras sometimes felt extremely jarring and unprompted; sometimes a camera view in a room would change, like three times, although the room was perfectly visible from the initial vantage point. In other cases, I could wander what seems to be far away from the camera view, and it never switched to show me where the character is. I found myself stumbling between camera views, trying to find my way further a bit too often to my taste. The "don't make noise" mechanic didn't seem to work. In the toilet scene, I was standing perfectly still and silent, but the dude still attacked me. And further on, zombies seemed to be chasing me around, no matter how much noise I was making (or if I was making any, which was hard to tell too).
I was impressed with the narrative presentation, but the story didn't touch me personally, unfortunately. Maybe I missed something, but I never got how the Issacs' story is connected to the main plot of the game. The final cutscene suggested that the zombie I ran over had some significance, but the game was not good at communicating to me why and what exactly was happening.
On the technical side, I think I had some bugs with the lighting: in the first two levels, it was very flat with no shadows, so the flashlight was completely useless. Judging from the screenshots, this is not how the game was intended to be, so maybe it is something you should look into.
Anyway, sorry for the long and mostly negative review. The amount of work you've done is very impressive, and the game has some good parts in it. Hopefully, my feedback could help you make it even better in the future :)
I appreciate the in-depth review!
Sorry to hear you had lighting issues. The game can be a bit harder to run on certain hardware, and it seems to lead to some unintended visual bugs. We would have loved to look into tuning performance and adding visual settings, but with the jam time limit, it became impossible - hopefully after! The lighting is such a big part of the mood of our game, so I can understand how those issues could impact your experience
Camera placement is another of those tricky things that seem a lot more obvious when you know the map layout, but seeing some of the responses, it's clear that it could've been adjusted further to make the transitions between them smoother
Regarding the noise mechanic, it serves as a way to prevent enemies from going into alert mode - but once they're chasing you, it's time to run!
In any case, whether you liked it or not, I still appreciate you taking the time to play our game and giving us your thoughts on it
Insanely impressive! The specs of the game genuinely gave me Crow Country, Silent Hill vibes and oh lord–am I shitting my pants hahah.
Fantastic sound design. The puzzles were tricky without being too difficult and the monsters were horrifying. I wish there was a way to hit them so they wouldn’t crowd me in a corner :”) Either way, awesome pitch!
Awee thank you for playing and for the kind words 😊 Always love a good Silent Hill comparison 🤣
The puzzle and sound guys did really good I think! Would go to sleep then it would be like waking up on Christmas morning with all their new work 🤣 Anyway thank you again for playing 😁
Thank you! Silent Hill is (obviously) a huge inspiration, so I'm glad it comes through the game itself
Really impressive amount of content and I loved the aesthetics here! That said, I found most of the areas to be too dark and difficult to navigate due to the controls. I was trying to implement a similar style of controls for my game where they were relative to the camera, but I ended up going tank style because of the same kinds of issues I had with the transitions here. After I met my new best friend in the toilets, I really struggled with evading him only to be immediately killed off in the dark by something when I got to segment where I needed to crouch/quiet walk. I'd be curious to give this one another go if you folks continue to refine it, as I think you've got something really special here but it's gonna need some thoughtful balancing and rework. Thanks for making and sharing it!
Thank you for playing! Hmm wonder what killed you off, should only be the other monsters (No other traps or anything)! If you tap the monsters though they do go into murder mode.
Thank you for playing!
We did consider tank controls early on, but we know they can be a bit divisive, and ultimately we thought something people were more familiar with could be more helpful
I think a better tuning of camera placements could help a lot of our movement problems, but time was limited, and it's one of those things you notice best once you have people that don't already know the map layout testing it out - maybe if this had been a longer jam!
Still, thank you for giving it a shot and letting us know your thoughts on it
Well, I was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere and aesthetics, you have remarkable talent
Thanks for playing our game and for your kind words.
Thanks!
Super cool game. Like the other said, the art style is amazing! I loved it; the 2D art is also really cute for the cinematic. For the gameplay part, it wasn't as great as the art. I felt that the room transition where not really feeling good. With some camera angle I felt lost, I didn't really understood where I was and in which direction. The first time a monster attacked me, I was stuck in the toilet room I couldn't escape. For the story, I felt some section were super long, like the elevator or the second cinematic. But the game is really cool! I wish the game would be a little more polish to be perfect!
Thank you for playing and the nice feedback! We do need to work on the cameras a bit, we changed them a few times so they are better than what they were but still a little confusing 😅
A few people had issies with the monster killing them in the toilet and well.. there was not a checkpoint there before ill jist say that much 🤣
One of our team members wanted the elevator to be shortened so,I bet hes reading this and grinning right now 🤣 My defence is... If kojima can have a three minute ish ladder i can have my elevator for half that time 😂
anyway thank you again for playing and the feedback 😁
The art style is wonderful — classic yet stylish!
I’ve never actually played old PlayStation games myself, but I’ve seen them on YouTube, and this game really reminded me of them.
If I had to mention one small thing, it’s that when the perspective (or maybe the screen?) shifts, it can be a bit hard to tell where the player’s character is located.
(I’m not sure if “perspective” is the right word — I’m not very familiar with English.)
Maybe adding a subtle outline around the character being controlled could help make them easier to see.
"I’ve never actually played old PlayStation games myself"
Your missing out on a beautiful point of gaming history! This is where 3D basically had come to the forefront and developers had to experiment a lot. So many interesting ideas which basically became evolutionary dead ends and so many others that succeeded and grew into what we have today! If you ever get a chance you should check out some games from the era :)
Glad it looked like one of them to you though :D
Perspective is correct! Give yourself more credit with your English skills haha. Sorry about the difficulty sometimes, generally it's meant to be whenever you switch cameras you should always be able to see the player instantly but it does not always work out on a schedule sadly xD
Thank you so much for playing :)
