I suck at this game (I have lowest score)
Love the surprise ending and both web and windows version runs great
And amazing style the game looks amazing
Great job everyone
Also, I am JOHN WOK!!!
Thanks for giving it a shot! You are James Wick, ignore the mean results screen!
I was making joke about JOHN WOK
I just watch Steven he yt video before this so...(Damnit Now I look dumb😅)
This was such an amazing game!! Holy hell, did not expect that ending for some weird reason. Should have seen it coming with the boss resembling a certain someone. The web version runs so smoothly I was expecting lag or something but it never came. The game length was perfect as it didn't drag on too long neither was it too short.

It felt like an aim trainer almost with how easy it was to get into the groove of shooting. Then came the horrible realisation at the end. Love the artstyle too, Not sure if this would help with the balancing but I ended up not using the grenades at all because I was afraid of my streaks being reset. Neither was there a time where I had to use it either. But it was good to know I had it as a bailout. Amazing work and thank you for the game!the grenade is just there as a panic button. If you're comfortable with fps games, you probably won't have to use it. I did received many anecdotes of people using them.. What I and others on the team have found difficult is not using them during a pistol only run (you will get 50k extra points if you never fire off the rifle).
Thanks for playing!
Holy wow, this game is great..
Art, lovely. Sound, great.
One thing I want to point out is the enemies. they do a good job both standing out from one another, and working together to try to overwhelm you.
Between Mr. Cannon fodder's strongness in numbers and part time work as a shield for the other two, Nightmare dog's speed, and.. Blue's? making me feel like the king of space for being able to head shot someone with proportions like an orange on top of a fridge, they made a nice array of things to deal with.
This one also takes the "ONE MORE!" prize for one of the only games I wanted to play more of after beating it.. And I did.. Many times..
At first so I was going to say "What it loses in horror it gains in gameplay and bla bla" but the ending, well the whiplash from it is enough to horror 2 stars as appose to 1.
So yeah, great stuff all around, make an endless mode and you are set.
Here's my highscore, also.
I love the art style and the theme of the game! While not really scary, the addictive and satisfying gameplay really makes up for it. The final boss battle leaves a lot to be desired, but perhaps this was intentional. The ending was quite unexpected, but I like it a lot.
This game has so much potential for future development and cool additions such as new weapons/granades, enemy types, boss battles and story expansion. 10/10, would play again! (and I likely will)
Also, my score:
Yes, the boss battle was supposed to be that way as it was part of the twist for the ending.
And I agree that this system has potential for a lot more that can be done with it, I was even thinking to myself how I don't want it to fade out in the long run. We currently have no plans on expanding on this game outside of some minor additions, but perhaps we'll come back to it - if not using this system in another game.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for posting your score!
Ah I see, makes sense! Regardless of whether you decide to expand it or not, I wish you the best with future projects!
Pretty cool shooter game actually, the feelings are great but i admit i was expecting a real final boss fight at the end ahah. The art style is also pretty unique and effective, i like it. Great work!
Post QA
I had a blast, I loved this style and concept and it’s the first time i saw it utilized so well! The game replay is there, but i think with updated content this can be like a weekly game lol!! Aside from the main menu song being too loud i think everything works nice and it runs smoothly.
Nice game, nice system, nice VA! Good work!
All great suggestions, and yeah a little more content will increase the replay value. Post voting period, I am wanting to add an online leader board - we shall see! thanks for playing.
Really fun game! I enjoyed the crazy aesthetics and the honest-to-god ugly looking monsters! Great fun!
This game is really unique! It has its own aesthetic and very fun to play.
Made it to the end, got really confused with the ending. Maybe there are multiple endings that I was unable to reach.
Fair, we could have segway'd or eased the player better to the ending.
I won't spoil the ending in the comments, but I'll give a hint.. the story is something akin to the matrix and/or extreme delusion/illusions/brain washing.
Very Cool Art Style And Engaging Gameplay. I Had A Lot Of Fun With This One. I Wish It Was A Bit Harder Though.
difficulty is scaled back to allow for people of different skill levels to enjoy - there even seems to be people who still can't make it to the end. If you want more of a challenge - I would like to suggest trying to top the current high score of 486k. There is more depth to the game than just getting to the ending - for those who enjoy score chasing.
Really cool art style and sound design! It controlled pretty well-I think you nailed what you were going for here.
One of my favorite games of the jam! Loved the gameplay, artstyle, sound design, and the twist at the end. Amazing work!
thank you so much! glad you enjoyed the game!
Really fun, arcadey shoot em up game. It looks great, feels great, and I love the ending that ties it all back to the scream part of the jam. I did not see that ending coming.
Awesome game! Can't really fault much about it honestly. good job!
thanks so much for playing! nice work on the score too!
Whimsical and a throwback to the 1990s Shoot Them Up games. Everything meshes well. The creepyness factor isn't high, but that doesn't take away much from the game. Congratulatoins on a well-done game.
Wow really fun jam game. The controls are easy and intuitive, and it's an interesting concept. The story / ending didn't really click for me, and sort of was a bit disconnected, but otherwise lots of fun. Good job creating this jam game!
Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed it! and that's understandable as to why you didn't get the ending. I'd love to explain it, but rather not give spoilers in the comments.
LET ME SHAKE YOUR HAND FROM POET TO POET, IT'S ADDICTIVE, GOOD RETRO GRAPHICS, INNOVATIVE FOR THE JAM A SHORT GAME LIKE THIS
Really loved the 4 directional movement and snappy fighting. The ending was as a unexpected twist. I really enjoyed it!

Here's how I did:
congrats! You're currently the highest scorer out of jam participants!
This game is crazy good! The whimsical artsy looks combined with those genuinely creepy looking enemies is a nice mix. The game has also a nice fast rythm to it and good voicelines. It sounds amazing as well so overall very polished and enjoyable experience!
What a fantastic game! Reminded me a bit of Chambers, runs so smoothly, the crawlers scared me a lot and I wish the bossman wore clothes. Great ending twist also!
