Low dynamics. Very looooow.

I struggled with the controls for a long time.

I struggled with the monster for a long time (this monster got me even after I jumped over the abyss).

But when I defeated them, the game brought me a lot of pleasure!

In my opinion, it is worth reducing the distance between the platforms above the monster so that you can jump over them with one key, reduce the speed of the monster a little, reduce the distance between the switches for the "head" so that it doesn't fly for so long, and increase the hand speed a little.

I enjoyed this game! though I have to note that, you probably made the hand movement slow intentionally, but I found a workaround that you might want to fix, and that is I can just stop holding before the animation ends and I keep spamming that, well thats just for the hand, the other ones did not have this issue.

Hey, thanks for playing and for the feedback! Yeah I noticed that too but it was about an hour before the deadline, and I was just about ready to pass out by that point :D  I may release a more polished version once the jam is over. Thanks again! <3

The puzzle was too difficult for me. I didn't understand the part about the ghost. However, I was still able to see your game through @digitaliliad's stream.

You implemented the black and white theme very well. The characters are beautiful. The minimalist design suits the game mechanics perfectly.

Well done.

Ah no worries, yeah it's an Unreal game so it would struggle to run on some devices :) Thanks for giving it a try though!

Really nice visual effects and audio create a tense atmosphere! I liked the puzzle, although it took me a while to figure out how the levers work. My only real complaint is that the slow hand movement made restarting a bit burdensome at the start.

Great concept, nice atmosphere! Very fun!

I love it!

I finished your game! It took me a long time to figure out the ghost mechanic, but I really liked it. The shadows, animations, sounds, and puzzles are all great, that’s a lot of work for a 72-hour jam! Awesome job!! The game feels underrated, probably because it can’t be played on the web. Good luck!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Yeah the mechanics aren't super well explained, but I'm glad you figured it out and enjoyed it! <3

So grotesque yet beautiful. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Grotesque and beautiful is what I aim for haha

I had a hard time with this one! Chat basically had to walk me through it lol, but I loved how the audio/visuals created such a great atmosphere. It really set the right tone for this sort of game.

Thanks so much for playing! Just watched the stream back, it was fun seeing you try to figure it out haha... you were actually almost there with the creature, you just had to clear that last jump as you were running away.

Agreed that the beginning of the game is too slow, I would've definitely added a checkpoint system if I'd had more time.

EDIT: Also yeah the controls were on the Itch page itself but I kinda forgot they wouldn't show up on the rating page haha: https://blackvoidmedia.itch.io/the-angels-arose

I finally made it! Very cool game. I missed the first jump after beating the creature, which while not a hard reset, induced at least one rage quit lol! I enjoyed the ending, especially the lighting trick with the credits. Yeah, I sometimes get turned around with the different itch pages, thanks!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for giving it another try! Fun fact, the credits are like that because I didn't have enough time to make a proper credits screen haha

Phenomenal. Loved the experience.  Very polished, very cool concept/story/ambience.

Minor feedback:

1. The hand movement is really slow.  I realize that might be intentional, but after dying a few times (trying to understand the game), it felt crazy punishing.

2. The platforming and movement was a little jank.  I realize you spent the time where it needed to be spent.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Yeah I kinda ran out of time before I could tweak the movement properly. And the arm is definitely slow, I couldn't think of a good way to speed it up without it looking weird (probably adding a checkpoint would be good if I had more time).

I liked the game, I liked the animation and the smoothness of the jump on one leg, and those shadows from the fire on the wall, it's atmospheric)

Game looks amazing! I love the atmosphere and concept. I really wanted to finish but after i take ma hands and click the elevator I wasnt standing on it and it wont come back :( But for creativity and asthetics is one of the best entries, well done! :)

Developer

Thanks for trying it! <3  You should be able to bring the elevator back down by removing its power (move the head away from the crystal) - it should cause the elevator to come back down, but let me know if not :)

I passed your game , I liked it

Your game is really nice and its amazing that you were able to make this in 72 hours. The shaders. the graphics, the story, it is all amazing. Of course, I do have a few things to point out though. First thing being the section where you are just an arm. The arm moves really slow and it causes that section of the game, while brief, to drag on for a long time. I got stuck with the press e prompt with the lever cause i flipped the lever and nothing happened so i spent a good 5 minutes as the arm crawling back and forth trying to figure out what to do before i pressed tab again where the heart was and i was suddenly teleported and became a leg and torso. Don't know what I did wrong but that was weird. I also would've like a guide for the game on how to complete it as I got stuck on many parts and eventually had to quit cause it was becoming too demanding on my bad pc. Overall though, a really good game and i am really impressed at how well it tuned out given the theme and time limit!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing it and for the feedback! Yes the switching mechanic is not very well explained - if you hit tab you can switch between 3 "characters", they have to work together to get through the level (hint: the doors/platforms need to be powered, otherwise their levers won't do anything).

Let me know if you decide to try it again as I can give you some more tips on how to progress :)

I'm crazy bad at puzzles, but I loved the vibes in this <3 I think the polishing is top-notch on this one, too. I have no ideas how to improve any aspect of the game. I can't believe it was done in 72 hours. :D Superb!

Thanks so much for trying it! <3
