Such an enjoyable and high-quality game! It’s impressive how much was achieved in such a short time. The visuals and aesthetic are adorable, go Sammmmmmmm! I loved the characters, especially the sweet old lady <3

So full of charm and personality. The game has a vibrant, lively feel, and the beat-’em-up mechanics are surprisingly satisfying! Love beat-'em-up's so this was really fun!

Some areas for polish: the level-end screens could better highlight player choices, and the “positivity notes” could be clearer as lives. Other than that, the levels are tricky but fair, the story and style are fun, and the game radiates pure skill and passion. For a first-time dev effort, this is truly remarkable, definitely one of the more polished, charming and best entries of the jam!

Thank you so much! Yeah, we've gotten a lot of complaints about the sticky notes and item screens. We actually totally had it on our list of things to do, we just forgot we hadn't actually changed it! The item select screen is suppose to have little "select" buttons in the same computer tab style under each one to show that you're picking that item and not just getting both!

As for the stick notes, I'm not really sure how to make it more clear that it's the health, perhaps with more dialogue? The point of the story is that you're trying to reach people in the only way you can across the internet -- with your words! So with each attempt, you come in with your set of kind words, and if you fail, you try again with a new set! Trying new words doesn't necessarily mean your previous words didn't hold meaning, it just means they weren't the right one to reach that person! So yeah, if I had to fix that, I'd have probably added more dialogue if we had one more day.

Thanks so much for playing our game and letting us know your critiques! It means the world to me to have so many people playing my first video game, and I'll make sure to hold onto your words for future projects! Clarity seems to be our weakest point, but luckily, it's not too hard of a fix! Much love to you. Never give up, dreamer! <3

Hey, it’s all good! One of the best parts of game jams is getting feedback, and sometimes things aren’t immediately clear! our own jam had spots like that too. I think the main thing here is it’s a little hard to read some of the hearts as health, if that makes sense (or maybe it just didn’t click with me ;-;).

But honestly, for a jam game, let alone your FIRST!! it’s amazing. I hope you hit at least top 10, because this is seriously one of our favorite jam games overall. I'd play a full version in a heartbeat if you ever made one! Whatever happens, be proud! You made something fun, people are enjoying it, and that’s what matters. No game is perfect, and the learning is part of the jam experience, and you absolutely nailed it! <3

Hitting top 10 would be a dream! My partner and I actually just joined this jam because he said that for my birthday, he wanted to get me into a Jacksepticeye video since we've both been watching him since the Happy Wheels days! What was that, 10 years ago? Haha.

But even if I don't make it, it has truly warmed my heart to see so many kind people say that our game was their favorite, or that it reminded them of their favorite games! I've had people compare it to Castle Crashers, Little Big Planet, ENA, Lobotomy Corporation, and many more of our absolute favorites games. I'm absolutely ecstatic that I would ever be labeled as the things that I always looked up to in other peoples' eyes. It makes me think that maybe I could make a difference in the world the way that those creators have made a difference in mine.

Thanks again for your kind words, and I wish you the same luck in achieving your dreams! After all, that's what our game is all about! ;p
