That's a cute cat! Congrats on 7th place and impressive that you had the power to update the game this quickly, I'm still feeling a bit burned out from the jam. Participating was as amazing and fun as it was exhausting. 😄

Thanks, it was our first one although we both tinkered around in godot before so we were not entirely unprepared. That said, the jam definitely was a new experience for us and we had to tackle lots of issues we hadn't done before such as composing music and fx, battle systems, path finding, graphics, lighting, the list goes on 😅
What a great idea for a game, I just love the paper astetics and the hand drawn graphics. Well done :) I think the difficulty is ok but the controls are not as tight as I'd like them. The scissor enemy for example I just cant beat because I can't get a hit in and dodge before he cuts me in half. 😄 But I think you really have something going here, if you polish it a little and add something to keep the player invested, this could become a full game!
Thank you for playing and for taking the time to comment! Player feedback is something we've heard a few times now and that's definitely something we need to improve on. I'd like to get something going like Hades has, where every hit feels very clear and controlled. Hopefully we can pull that of. :)
Thanks for the detailed feedback, this helps us a lot!
- Yes it it very grindy and that was not intended. We didn't plan on wasting the players time. We just didn't have the time to fix the balancing before the deadline 🫣
- Not being able to use the shop was a choice I made for story telling purposes. I'd be happy for more feedback on this point. I think it helps build the world more but I'm open to hear other opinions
- The end screen is one that is bugging me as well personally because it refers to a game mechanic that we were unable to implement in time and it currently makes no sense. As you said, there is no other choice at he moment.
Thank you for taking the time to play and comment our game!
Great game! The most fun I had was in a) seeing how the song built up and b) finding ways to lead the ants to their goal without going the obvious route. In level three for example, you can go left and place ad right-sign so that it's mostly outside the screen. The ants will go above the obstacles all the way to the right 😄
Great name for a game 😄 I'm going to give it a try. Have a look at ours too!

Here's our dungeon crawler. If you make it to the boss room, I'll be very impressed but if you give it a couple of tries that would already be enough to get a good idea of the gameplay :) I'm going to have a look at your game in the meantime.
