lol, I'm releasing v2.0 today and it should be easier and shorter.

(1 edit)

That's how I was thinking of adding saving. In the update I'm working on I did make the game shorter (Much cheaper upgrades so faster progression) whilst adding more content (I was able to beat the game on normal in 13 minutes). I'll look into how to do save files today, and probably add saving (or just see how it blends with the gameplay) soon!

yea, it can be long and difficult sometimes (And have slow progression). I have been working on a new update coming out in ~1 week where all the upgrades are much cheaper, and I added a lot of new content! (which also even involves a new currency!).

at the moment I'm not really thinking about adding checkpoints anywhere, but that would be a cool upgrade to add later. The hard thing with saving/checkpoints in this game is that it could remove the challenge with just being able to go to the last save.

I haven't worked with save files and stuffs yet so it would be challenging, but I could definitely try it!

It says in the tutorial, hold right click

For updates you could possibly follow me on itch, although I don't know if it would notify you when it updates. The best solution I have would be my youtube because I'll be posting a video once I'm done the update (And another one right after the jam ends). I do have some big plans for the update so it might take a few weeks

Its fun! I just think the UI needs a good bit of work. The emojis make it feel really weird, so just some better icons would fix that. The other thing is that there's at least like 6 wildly different colors in the main screen that don't work well. Just some set colors/palette (Like primary & accent) would help a lot!

glad you enjoyed! It is pretty long at the moment (And gets kind of boring late game), and I have a few plans to make it faster & have more content. Hope you try again later!

Yeah kind of ran out of time to finish the balancing :/ ... But I have a few ideas to fix regen & balancing post jam!

Cool! I definitely check it out

Great!

Oh! I didn't realize you could rotate the orbits! apparently I didn't see that in the tutorial somehow 🫠

Thanks! I definitely got the main idea of the upgrade tree from nodebuster (even played it a few more times for some inspiration), but put my own little spin on it making you unlock enemies within the upgrade tree!

thanks for playing! I definitely spent most of my time working on upgrades, though I couldn’t really balance the later game upgrades with the time I had sadly

yea randomizing it with a small pitch shift can be great, and its not terribly hard to do!

WOW! The art and polish is insane! I also like how simple the gameplay is, and the way the tutorial is integrated is great! I don't have any criticisms other than maybe some more levels would be cool.

It's a fun incremental game! Like you said in the description, you couldn't finish it and there are a few bugs, but more content would be good. The polish and feel is good, the 1 thing I found though is that the ironiteloops circle's button hitbox seems very odd. Also uhhhhh:

It's a fun concept, but I kept getting my satellites destroyed by asteroids which I had no control over which was annoying since I was also unable to meet the requirements. I think some alternative to asteroids would be good or just changing them a bit. Here are some of my ideas: rusting satellites, satellites get damaged from asteroids and need to be repaired, asteroids don't one shot satellites.

I also like the art, especially the planet!

Very satisfying when you finish a level. Definitely feels a mobile game

Cool! The art style is very simple, but it works

I like the art style! (Though there are some annoying mixels and it does feel a little de-saturated) I think the fishing minigame needs some work, since it gets a bit repetitive and boring since it's just the speed of the reeling that changes, some fish having special abilities would also be cool.

Fun! But sometimes I just couldn't hit the ball when it was too close to the line (Mainly at the bottom), my paddle just couldn't reach it. Art is also very good!

I love the art and polish! Got ~650 on 30 seconds.

It's a fun idle game! Although I never ended up getting hit once, so the enemies didn't pose much of a threat

Love the graphics and music!

Thanks! I also had someone compare my game to diep.io!

yeah, the time between music tracks might be a little bit too long (Currently it's randomized between 10-20 seconds). I also had a few bugs relating to the music where it would just cut out randomly and play the next track immediately. Thanks for playing and commenting!

Thanks for playing and commenting on my game! I do agree that some enemies can be annoying when you cant reach them (Especially early game), but later in the game it gets a little better since you can avoid some weak enemies

Thanks for playing! I definitely do wish I could have added more in the time I had (Mainly more special enemies)

Very cute game and artwork! although I had a hard time getting the right order to the right cats, and understanding what they wanted.

It's got the idea for a VERY cool game, being able to buy mods and 'code' your way through the game

Holy the art is INSANE! I don't know if I like the gameplay though, it can be annoying sometimes. Having your tower be constantly knocked over by the waves is my main annoyance, the building physics are also a little finicky

I love this game! The simple gameplay, the art, and the sounds are all great! Has a great amount of polish

Doesn't seem to work for me, no buttons are working. I don't know if I'm missing something or it's just a bug

I like the idea and implementation of this spin on snake. I LOVE the art, with how simple it is and how reactive the game feels, and the UI is great! For some reason though the movement felt a little off for some reason, but I can't really explain why.

I love the art and gameplay! The bloops are very silly. I do think there should be some kind of limit on the fall speed, because sometimes you go way too fast to be able to switch directions in midair

I like the idea and implementation of the debuffs and gifts! Having to choose a debuff to make your run harder is good, and the gifts helping you after dying is nice. I do think the player movement needs some work, mainly the jumping, I think the player jumps way too high.

Thanks for the review! Yes the game is definitely quite long and I want to do some things to make it shorter (Or just progress faster). I tried adding the gold enemies and event enemies as a way to somewhat break this loop, but I think it is still missing is a bit of variety. I love the idea of moving enemies! I was originally going to have some moving enemies but thought it was going to take too long to develop so I ended up not adding them. But I WILL add moving enemies with some cool moves later, I'm currently thinking of some kind of enemy that's REALLY slow, and has low health, but shoots a barrage of low damage projectiles. Enemies that can teleport would be a challenge (VFX for teleporting I think would be a challenge), but would be a GREAT addition.

Again, thanks for reviewing and playing my game! Check out this post I have about the future plans of this game: https://mydimons.itch.io/spin-blade/devlog/1001546/future-plans

I LOVE THIS GAME!! I love the 8 bit style and how there's little to no shading on things. The gameplay is also very simplistic but it's very fun to just upgrade your max bullets and ammo and go to town. I also like how the skill point menu pops up with slowing the music and pitching it down.

The 1 problem I ran into was how laggy it got with a ton of enemies and bullets (Which is expected, but just some small optimizations would help), particles might be mostly causing this, but I could be wrong.

I like how this game is a (somewhat) simplistic idea, and how you then went and made some very fun and challenging puzzles out of it!

The only thing I don't really like is the kind of pixely art style (mainly the font), but that's my personal preference. I also saw you said some people didn't read the tutorial text, which might be because the text can be a bit hard to read with the wobbly effect (Maybe just turn it down a bit), or people are just unobservant. Though I did see you said you were having some issues with the font.

Overall I liked it! I also seem to have a tiny bit of a skill issue :|

Took me 9:22 with 49 retries, I thought the gameplay was very good! The 1 thing I didn't like is how it would automatically connection points and change my retry point (Especially if I just fell a lot and want to reset).
