Winner of the first Wasteland Jam Edition!

https://chowbacca.itch.io/a-simple-trade

A point-and-click inventory management game that sees you as a scavenger from a small community. You make trade with a foreign group called the North Bay Company, who will trade freshly refurbished old world technology in exchange for the old scrap electronics you find in the nearby urban wasteland.

Here is a rewritten version as a complete,  The game itself is fantastic. When it ended on day three, I was honestly disappointed—in the best possible way—because I was completely immersed in the mood and atmosphere. The environments are large, well-crafted, and rewarding to explore, and the companion character, especially with the subtle head animation, adds a wonderful layer of personality and life to the experience. Excellent work overall; the level design and complexity are outstanding. I truly hope you continue development, because I would absolutely love to keep playing.

> This game is excellent, and I honestly did not expect an entry of this level of quality in such a short amount of time. The water management mechanic creates just the right amount of pressure without feeling overwhelming, the overall mood is consistently engaging, and the radio system is exceptionally well executed. Everything comes together very nicely. Great job on a very impressive entry!

The setting is dark, oppressive, and consistently atmospheric, and the gameplay is pretty fun! Overall, this is a strong and cohesive entry that delivers its atmosphere with confidence! Congrats :)

A great little game overall. The frozen wasteland setting is fantastic, and the detail where defeated enemies are revealed beneath their snowy outer layer is genuinely brilliant and very memorable. It adds a lot of character and reinforces the atmosphere beautifully.

My only small wish would be for a slightly faster movement speed, but aside from that, this is a very strong and enjoyable entry. Congrats!

> In my opinion, this is the best game of the jam. The atmosphere is absolutely outstanding, and the UI and art style are simple yet incredibly effective at supporting the overall mood. While the core gameplay is intentionally straightforward, the scavenging and trading systems—together with the underlying lore—add a surprising amount of depth and keep the experience engaging. Everything feels well thought out and nicely polished, and the mechanics work smoothly throughout. Congratulations on a truly solid and memorable entry.

I’m usually not a fan of idle games, but I really enjoyed this one. The UI is excellent, and the gameplay feels smooth and pleasantly deep.

Short and small, but very atmospheric. I like the idea of not having a visible sanity UI, although slightly clearer feedback would have helped. The final voice line absolutely cracked me up.

It’s always great to see a small, self-contained world like this. Compact but surprisingly complex, it conveys a strong sense of realism and feels very convincing. Well done!

I really love the use of the character’s voice combined with subtitles. The game is short and simple, but it has great vibes and does a fantastic job of making you want to discover what’s hidden in the darkness.

It feels like the creature never actually deals damage—unless I missed something? That said, the atmosphere is really strong, and the first time I saw it emerge from the darkness I genuinely panicked. Great scare moment.

I really enjoyed this one. The procedural generation works well, the setting is very dark and atmospheric, and the music strongly reinforces the overall mood.

I’m a big fan of underwater games, and this one does not disappoint. The gameplay is simple and smooth, though I would have appreciated better-organized biological information about the creatures. I really loved the environmental details, especially the plastic bags scattered everywhere—sad, but very impactful and well done.

A simple yet very engaging game :) The visuals are polished and well thought out, music also, and the mini-games add a super fun and unexpected twist to the gameplay!

The retro CRT screen effect is fantastic and incredibly well executed. The gameplay feels smooth and engaging. At times it was a bit unclear which command needed to be typed, so an additional help or hint system could be very useful, but overall this is a great experience.

This instantly took me back to Quake Arena and Doom 1. Nostalgic, fast, and extremely enjoyable! Congrats :)

I absolutely love this game—one of the best entries in my opinion. The water management mechanic creates just the right amount of pressure, the overall mood is very engaging, and the radio system is exceptionally well done. Great job.

I was genuinely sorry not to give this a full 5 stars, mainly because torch\gas mask were missing. That said, the game itself is fantastic. When it ended on day three, I was honestly disappointed, since I was completely immersed in the mood and atmosphere! The environments are large and well-crafted, and your companion character, with the subtle head animation, adds a great layer of personality. Excellent work overall. I truly hope you continue development, because I would love to keep playing.I got stuck for the first five minutes because I couldn’t find the ladde, I thought it was a column! lol

Happy to hear that everything work now!

It's quite strange or meant I misunderstood your question. This is how you edit the style of your exported game: export your game, unzip it, open the style.css, and then modify it. You can use the CSS templates for reference. Or if you can, share some screenshots so I can better understand what is the issue :)

Hi! You are trying to edit the exported CAS files of your game right? Also another question, you're using the latest versione if the engine?

Thanks, and sorry for the misplaced post :)

Hello! I'm a composer/sound engineer since more than 15 years, and now I'm making audio tools. What I'm wondering, how much people here create audio tools? That can be tiny stuff up to DAW plugins, since what I see are some big brands that upload their plugins here and sometimes some small dev studios that share audio tools. Are audio tools devs a thing in itch.io?

Also, I'm running my second music composition jam, and I would like to know if people here would be actually interested in a "audio tool Dev jam"

The jam has begun! Good luck to everyone :)

The theme has been decided: The Sea!

Let your imagination run wild with this theme—whether you picture calm shores, storm-torn waters, or perhaps the “waves” of the sea are actually sine waves. Or maybe you want to dive deep into the abyssal depths?

The theme is completely open to interpretation. Follow it in whatever way inspires you most.

Guidelines for submitting your track:

There is no strict time limit, but aim for 2–4 minutes if possible.

When you post your submission, please include a screenshot of your DAW project or a brief explanation of how you created the track (tools used, techniques, etc.).

Good luck teo everyone!
