Thank you for the detailed feedback. :)
The difficulty curve is for sure bad at the moment, I don't blame you for getting bored. It seems we're losing a lot of players before a new flower is introduced (7th puzzle) haha.
The UI element for required flowers definitely needs changing, I like your checkmark idea for that.
TIL moles don't eat flowers. :')
Hey, thank you for the detailed feedback!!
We'd love check out the VOD. please do share a link once you've posted it. :)
We agree that level 8 is currently significantly more difficult than the rest, we'll have to redesign most of the levels I think.
The moles are actually meant to move towards more mature flowers, as you suggested. But I agree that currently they move very unpredictably and something needs to be done about that.
We were not aware of the tutorial level bug you mentioned, thank you for pointing it out!
Yooo I can't believe I missed out on rating this. Would have been a 5 across the board for me. My favorite game from this jam.
Obviously the visuals and audio are gorgeous, but I can't get over how creative this game let's the player be when you get to the more complex levels.
Honestly incredible to me that this was made in 96 hours!
Enjoyed it a lot and played until I cleared all levels on 3 stars. :) I even managed to clear the last level in 29 rails (rather than the 34 you need for 3 stars) which felt great.
Would love to see this made into a full Steam game. :D
Suggestion for quicker controls if this was made into a full game:
- Hotkeys for different materials (1, 2, 3, etc., like in Poly Bridge)
- Click + drag to set a direction as you're placing a directional rail.
Awesome party game. Could have been a blast if I had someone over to play it with me haha
I personally don't like the idea of AI generated menu backgrounds.
But other than that I loved everything about the visual aesthetic, from menu layout to character portraits to environment!
Audio's on point as well.
Lovely game!!
The music and art are super cozy, and I love how the aesthetic changes as you progress.
In my opinion one thing this game could benefit from is a more interactive (less wordy) tutorial. The existing tutorial is very clear, but some people might not have the patience to read when they're still just trying out the game.
Also, here's a tiny typo in case it wasn't spotted yet:
At the start, in the level named "Rainy Day", Matilda's dialogue is: "I bet I can grab these 2 berries and return...". But there are 3 berries she needs to grab.
Very creative concept that works really well! And I love how all the in-game elements make sense in the narrative. (hedges for walls, patches of tall grass as the "collectibles".)
Also very impressive that you managed to find time to add in a level selector and volume control within the short duration of the jam.
Hey! Thank you for the high praise, and for taking the time to play the game through and write out your thoughts in detail. :)
We really appreciate all the kind words and I personally fully agree with your feedback. Hopefully after the jam we can find the time to reiterate on the difficulty curve and come up with more restrictive levels that teach the player more.
Thank you!!
