"Awaiting moderator approval

Thank you for your post. It must be approved by a moderator before it will be shown due to this community's settings or due to your recent account activity."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My "...recent account activity."? There is none! I only post covers here. I didn't post anything offensive. Please clarify what the issue is here? I mean come on, this is ridiculous I post covers & reply sometimes, that's it. Why would you block me for that?

PS: I sent a mail to itch support, this is a bad joke. Unblock my account or tell me what's up. I might delete my account if this keeps up. Censorship is a no-go.

Please read the rules of Questions&Support. They're relevant to your situation.

My "Situation"? I've read those. Explain why you block me please.

"You" in this case is automated filters on the server side, so itch.io staff can review posts for potential spam. It's happening to a lot of people lately, as you can see in the same category. But as explained in those rules, itch.io staff doesn't watch the forums, so your angry demands are unlikely to be seen by the people who can do something about it. Oh, and the same rules also tell you what to do if your e-mail goes unanswered.

If itch has a problem with spam, why block legit users? Sounds like a problem of itch to me. Anyway I will wait a while and if this doesn't change I will delete my account here.

PS: My request was accepted with a support number.

...I said it's an automated spam filter, that holds posts so a human can double-check. This is standard practice.

The problem is, that Itch cannot reliable say who is legit and who not. That's my educated guess.

I support this with the fact that the latest scam spammer I saw was an account created in 2024.

due to this community's settings

You forgot this part of the reasoning. An often wished for feature by developers is to have at least restricted comment sections.

And I guess the overall system setting of communities is currently something that puts a lot of comments on that moderator approval waiting list.

I am not even sure who moderates those. Because people that work for Itch are not usually called moderators. Maybe it is the developers themselves in some cases. Or there are "moderators" that just do not talk and are different from the blue community mods (like no time). I think no time would have noticed the workload of approving a ton of comments.

Oh, right. Game comments are moderated by itch.io staff, not community moderators! And people post a lot more on game pages than in the forum. So that could be part of the problem.

No wonder people often think mods are staff... ;-)
