I love the art style, hand drawing is really cool. The game is also very fun to play.
Converting Kids drawing to gems...nice
Cool idea going with hand drawn for the art direction! I wasn't able to get the timing right to reliably win the sword fights, but I was mainly in it for the ambiance anyway.
The art style alone makes this game worth the time. I've never seen a pencil & paper handdrawn art style before... it's like cuphead mixed with MS paint art. I think the dev has stumbled onto something there. The combat is a little trial & error, I think a jump would have gone a long way. Either way, love to see what fellow Godot devs are doing! Check out my submission if you want to see a different spin on Godot. Godot devs are the best community out there!
The art style is amazing! Love the aesthetic. Had an issue with the combat, not sure if its supposed to be souls like which is ok but I suck it. 😅 Good job though 🤗
Oh wow I was blown away by your art & aesthetic. It's simple, unique, and effective. The visual and sound suits your narrative so well. Amazing work!
Incredibly cool submission - I absolutely love the visuals! Everything being hand drawn makes SUCH a ridiculously cool environment.
Fantastic submission!
Pretty fun game! Trying to figure out when it's best to attack took some time to learn, but overall was pretty great. Loved the hand drawn everything! You did great with it.
I really love this style of hand drawn game. Super cute. The gameplay itself was very barebones, but the artstyle overshines it.
Very artistic! great artwork. love the feel of it. Alot of potential. Great groundwork for further development. Needs some music to add to the atmosphere. Enjoyed trying it out.
Such a creatively stunning game! The pencil-drawn art style is absolutely inspired. What a unique and beautiful vision.
I confess that just looking at your game's page and reading the description made me quite curious about the hand-drawn graphics.
I'm impressed with the creativity you put into designing the entire environment! IT'S SO GOOD! Some parts even have a sense of depth, when the character passes behind a pillar or column.
The sounds are also very good!! I loved the sound of paper ripping when you defeat an opponent! Congratulations on your work!
These visuals are some of the most creative I have seen out of a jam game ever! Cant even imagine how long it took you. Felt like watching my drawings I used to make in class come to life.
This is great! Love the visuals you have here. I feel like with a bit more time, it would be nice to be able to better telegraph enemy attacks so you know when it's good to do your own, feels like I got ambushed quite a bit with them poking out at me. I really like the concept though!
The art was the best part of this game. But the root of the gameplay - combat, felt very lacking and hard for me (especially that guy with scissors). It also could be very cool if you showed the story told in the start, especially with that stunning artstyle. Also why does paper fighting with paper sounds like metal hitting metal? Maybe I don't understand something but it felt strange to me
PS: I just read that the theme here is a nice concept, but I don't think it's implemented that well. Like with the scissors-guy for example he kills me with two shots, and I don't think I can kill him in 2 or less, even with the riskier attack. In my playthrough I focused more on hitting the enemies with the longer lasting hitbox that allowed me to hit them safely than to "just go for it"
The art is very good, felt like play an old story made by children, but for a mandatory combat the fight felt like nothing I get the idea hitting the enemy is paper, still need some knockback effect at least I mostly spam the attack and dash should some invisibility frame to be much more useful.
if you focused more on fighting mechanic or completely gone for a charming game (eg: make every part of level flipping pages and more interaction with people of the kingdom, etc)
I am not saying this game is bad, but focusing more your strength would make this game great.
Well done with art, focus more on your strength or refine what you lack okay!
The art is amazing! It gives the game a storybook feeling. The fighting felt off sometimes, it seems you have to use shift to dodge but that requires a bit of practice.
Well done! Its a great game!
The handdrawn art was super charming, and I liked the story setup. Unfortunately the riskiness of the attacks didn't really come across as it was hard to control how close you were to an enemy, and there wasn't a lot of feedback. Well done getting it made!
Hi! I really liked your art! Playing in your game is just like playing with the paper dolls! Very fun and feels very real with the paper sounds and all :)
Very pretty game, and easy to play once you figure out that you need the arrows to move. Well done!
