Really clever one. Took me a while but when I understood the game, turned out to be super fun and creative. Great job :D
Wow I had so much fun!
The idea is super smart and original. Really cleaver design, I'm super impressed!
I don't know what score is good but I got 350 k in one single loop.
The game really shocked me, well done! :D
Hey, that’s great to hear, thanks for the feedback! 350k is great .. the key to going even higher is to chain your loops 😀
its fun and creative. nicely done
Thanks - I appreciate the feedback! T
Really cool idea and quite an addictive game, I really enjoyed playing it. My only nitpick is that I wish it was a little easier to work out how much a loop was going to score so you can tell if you need to grow it more or not. Overall great submission, well done!
I actually never bother reading instructions, but I instantly knew I needed to scroll to rotate the pieces - idk why. It felt very natural. It was very satisfying to play overall!!! The gray + colorful vibe was weird at first, but now makes me nostalgic, reminds me of minesweeper-like games :)
Thanks for the feedback - appreciated! Great that the scroll wheel was so instinctive for you - did the piece rotate in the direction you expected too? (I changed the direction just at the end as I kept going the wrong way).
The art style is a funny one - I was very happy with the ropes, but would have loved the board to be a bit brighter and more varied .. maybe I need to find an artist to work with! 😀
I didn't read the instructions so it took me a minute to figure out I could rotate pieces. But once I figured that out, it all clicked. Very fun arcade puzzle game, which excites the inner math nerd in me with all the knots. It's also cool to see some PGE representation. I've never used it myself but I do like javidx9
Glad you spotted that in the end .. it would certainly have been tricky to play with no rotations!!
PGE is highly recommended - and agreed javid’s channel is superb. Great Discord too.
I like this take on the theme. very cool!
Awesome take on a puzzle game. Was fun to try and plan ahead and make the biggest loop I could within the constraints! Great work.
This is such a cool and simple and creative take on the theme! And super well-executed, very tight! I really admire just straightforward the concept it, it really really works so well, has that same addictive puzzle feeling as tetris, and almost as intuitive. it did take me a few tries to start to get the hang of it, which really hooked me in and made me wanna keep going! i never got more than a 1 loop string but i know i'd feel like a god if i did. cute music too! and good sounds.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the feedback 😀
I did knot get very far, but good puzzle game.
ha ha. Top score for the addition pun though! Thanks for checking it out
great game I really just zoned out and got immersed in it for a long time! I got 14670169.50 in one loop!
Wow! That is seriously awesome. What level was that on? My max is c. 2m so far :)
I got on level one lol! It was the first loop I completed!
very cool idea, great execution :) enjoyed it a lot. a bit difficult to plan out your loops but the automatic color changing was great. i think maybe some of the colors were a bit too close to another but super cool nonetheless
Thanks! Agreed, I would love to have had time to space out the colours. I’ll add that to the “post jam” list!! 😀
wow!! this is just a really great idea and i think you executed it perfectly! this game would easily become a mess if not for the automatic colors, really really great design. this is like the tetris of loops
Cool game! This is a very creative idea. It's a little hard to puzzle it out in your head, I feel like you kind of have to just go for one big long loop and hope you get some others along the way.
Thanks - and I've just checked out your game too! Great stuff
The trick for massive scores in Get Knotted is combos .. eg, a streak of 3 (closing 3 loops in a row) gives a x10x10x10 = x1000 multiplier. So you can get 2m+ from the last loop in the streak if you time it well. That allows you to clear any level :)
By the way, if you you like drum based games, I did this a few years ago that you might like to check out: Drum Cloud by tgd20 (once you've rated all seventeen billion GMTK entries ofc! :) )
Thanks for playing my game, I'll give this another try with that in mind! Yes, once I've played all infinity games I will loop to Drum Cloud!!
Super creative and addictive. As a fellow puzzle game developer would be glad if you checked our game too!.
Thanks! I'll check out those too :)
Such a great concept, highly addictive. Would be awsome if the game left You use all the tile before leveling up, as often I had more going on on the map and felt a bit disappointed that I couldn't loop some of the prepared knots! :( Very cool game!
Thank you! That's a great idea about not getting rid of the tiles .. the other related comment I've had is that it's sometimes disappointing when you are building a massive loop and you accidentally cause a small sub-loop that clears those tiles! :)
I spent way too much time on this game.
Ha ha .. define "too much"! :
I love this game and it's the kind of puzzle that I would come back to often. I like how the scoring is done and how you don't "lose" by failing to reach the score. It's challenging but also very forgiving. I love how the score is related to the size/complexity of the loop, which makes you try to go for "less safe" loops. Really good!
Thanks Sara! Appreciate your feedback. Just to say I love the art on all your games! What tools are you using?
Thank you so much! :) I use mostly a mixture of Adobe Illustrator (which is the main tool) and Procreate (to quickly sketch ideas and concept art). Sometimes I also use Figma (for UI) and Photoshop (for assets) for certain things although Illustrator is 99% of it
Interesting name for a game but hey neat puzzle concepts!
Ha ha .. it's been about 100 years since I think the phrase "get knotted" was used in anger, so hopefully safe enough!! Thanks for the feedback and for checking out my game - appreciated :)
