Creative and fun! Loved how you were able to make such cool puzzles with such simple mechanics!
This is probably my favorite of the "Loop around the other side of the screen" type games I've played from the jam!
The level design is tight and polished with a cute aesthetic
The introduction of new mechanics is paced very well and expanded on with subsequent puzzles, very nice!
Got me saying "Damn that's smart" everytime a new mecanic was introduced.
Art is charming and the animations are perfect.
Good job !
Cool!
The gameplay was fun and fairly challenging, and I liked the textless introduction to the block switching gimmick.
It would be nice to see more mechanics that depend on the screen wrapping mechanic explored.
Nice job. :)
I love the artwork in the story, it reminds me of PictoChat!
The puzzles arefun too!
Well done!
There are a lot of similar games with platforming and looping but yours is really well made! There’s a nice progression curve, the levels are short but pleasing and overall it just feels great to move around. I really enjoyed it congrats
Oh wow,
you copied my mechanics /jThis is such a great game! Never thought of modifying landscape after screen warping. Very smart. The game is polish as well! Good game!AH, it's the king of platformers himself! I immediately recognised you as the The Tutorial guy from Shovel Jam.
I liked the game overall, however it quickly became too difficult for me :(
Though I have one question. You said you were a beginner when you made The Tutorial and from what I can tell you used Turbowarp for your previous projects.
So my question is whether this game is also made in Turbowarp? And can you tell a bit about your background in game dev prior to this?
Note: I am also a seasoned Turbowarp user, and I made my game for this jam in it. However before this my Shovel Jam game was made in Godot (which was my first time using the engine.)
A very solid and well rounded game in all aspects! The controls are polished, the visuals offer a smooth expeirence, the story is sweet, albeit not expressed that much in gameplay, and the sound is satisfying. My main issue would be that the level design could have eleveated the game a bit more. Most of the dissapearing block puzzles revolve around doing two loops of the level in the same direction. Make players experiment more, move back and forth between sides, to get to various places, force players to think about the way they route their path in a level to use the gimmicks you have established to their full potential. Besides that however, the game was pretty fun!
Yeah, I ended up losing two days off the jam, so I do wish I could have done more levels with more interesting mechanics and solutions. I think the game is more about the potential for more stuff than anything else, but what do I know haha :)
The fun thing about games with potential is that you can continue them after the jam is over. I mean, games like Baba is You and Friday Night Funkin started as gamejam games, so who knows what you can turn this game into after the jam :D
Another peak kingmidis platformer! I really like the puzzles, the one before the last one was really creative with you having to jump on the next screen, it took me a while to figure that out.
Unfortunately, i had to play the game while looking at mixels (as you can see in the screenshot below), which was strange since no one else seems to have this issue, and the screenshots and gifs look fine. Didn't affect the artwork score, thats is still a 5/5

Overall i really enjoyed it, good job!
Super strange... Did have you tried resizing your window to accommodate? I honestly have no idea why that could be lol
yeah i tried resizing. happens both in fullscreen and windowed (in browser) :P
I might know what happened, are you playing at any window zoom other than 100%?
Yeah, I do think it might be the zoom. I played at 125% and even in fullscreen was able to recreate what you saw
i wasnt zoomed in, and i tried zooming in just to see and it stayed the same. Might be a rare bug that happens just for me, that happened to me for restricted by assistant
Huh. That's very weird. Glad it didn't affect anything gameplay wise, thanks for playing!
Heck yeah I really dig this! So juicy with plenty of levels and new mechanics introduced to keep it fresh. Killer work!
Really cool to see such a polished puzzle game made in such a short time!
Really nice and polished game! Loved the visuals and animations :p
Cool exploration of screen wrapping, cute polished experience overall. Also, love the main character.
The graphics are clean and the animations are vibrant. The core mechanic has a lot of potential! Hope to see more in the future :)
The game is really nicely polished, really enjoyed playing it!
this game has CRONCH I LOVE IT!
Nice mechanic and gameplay. I feel like i've seen this character somewhere.
In spare time please also rate my game :)
a simple but really creative idea! it feels very polished, and the visuals are outstanding
