Another looping card game π Really incredibly polished design/gameplay. So smart to take a card-based autobattler and turn it into a puzzle game! The background and the sound effects and art are all great, really makes it feel like a complete game. I think a small detail that would be nice is arrows between the player's and enemies card slots to make it clear the order of operations. Once you understand it, there's no problems, but at the beginning it can be a little unintuative that it goes up down up down. Anyway, I really enjoyed this, great entry :)
Thank you for the feedback!
Totally agree that the order might be confusing! I was indeed thinking about some arrows or numbers to signify the slot's order, but in the end I got afraid that they might clutter the UI (I really wanted to keep things neat). Maybe some arrows would be good if they shown on hover though π
this idea is so cool, it plays perfectly too, the art is goofy af too i love it
I'm super happy that you had fun! Thanks!
Oh my god I love this, and the qol speedup makes it all the more better, Being able to choose what cards are best to beat the strategy is very enjoyable, although I never really got how Necro Deck worked, so they were a bit annoying, but still doable
Really appreciate the feedback! I too dislike how the Necro Deck turned out to be a guessing game, I should've explained this in-game better. But it works as following:
1. It will "Reverse" every "Attack" or "Tallying" (4x card) you place (so you do harm to yourself instead).
2. When you place "Reverse", it will put an "Attack", so you can damage the boss (this card is their weakness).
3. Otherwise they will try to "Regenerate".
I see I see, that's a nice design, and I did really enjoy the game so great job!
Very creative, very unique, and best of all, incredibly fun. I like the speed up per loop; something like balatro.
Would appreciate it for some feedback on my game too!
Thank you for playing!
Wrote some ideas for improvement to your game. Hope, you find them useful. TBH, I played for 30 min and did only the half of puzzles but I really liked what I saw. Very-very solid game!
yooo super creative concept for a puzzler - and a nice twist to the regular deck bulider mechanic. I like the improving score aspect by playing through with better cards - but (this is probably because i'm dumb) I never managed to get to the crazy high numbers, or was required to. I did manage to integer overflow my enemy's health though so that's fun. I think at least the 2nd last level, and maybe one more can just be solved by pressing play, which is a bit unfortunate. In terms of UX i think releasing click to place card would be more intuitive.
"can just be solved by pressing play" - LOL, I didn't notice that, this was clearly unintentional, and ideally should be fixed π
Regarding releasing a card - I didn't think that people might prefer that. IMO the current option is better for accessibility but your suggestion should be the default one.
Big thank your for the detailed feedback! It means a lot to me!
Great idea for a deckbuilder! Love the puzzly nature of trying to figure out the right set of loops to beat the enemy, very interesting take on the theme.
We made a bit of a mind-bending deckbuilder too, would love your feedback if you wanted to check it out.
Big thank you for playing!
I really liked your submission - it's so polished and good-looking!
Really nice game! I don't usually play card style games but I enjoyed this one. The music was nice too.
Thank you for playing! I checked your submission and it's truly incredible and fun too! π£
Definitely top tier execution, really enjoyed the levels, and they felt actually intuitive to strategize against! I like the looparoid / polaroid play :D
I'm so happy that you had fun! Thank you for playing!β€οΈ
Very good concept and the last few was actually hard to solve. Nice job :)
Thank you! These last encounters were actually tweaked the most, because at the beginning they were almost impossible π
A fellow card game enjoyer. However mine is 100 times more simple. Good job, it was really great game
Thank you for playing, hazmatik! I checked your submission - the visuals and writing are exceptionally good! π€π€
Felt like I was building a tiny chaos engine with every card—super satisfying once it clicked. Would love to see this idea pushed even further!
Hehe, this was my main idea - an utter chaos of (semi-)infinite loops! Glad you had fun with it!
great game ! Thought it would be another generic deck building game but I was greatly surprised! I Wish it was longer
A wise man once said "it's not the size that matters, it's how you use your cards" πππ
Anyway, big thank you for playing, TimFay!
Awesome interpretation of loop, was thinking it would be like card synergies but this is a sick way of doing such a difficult idea, props!
Thank you for playing! There were many improvements suggested here and there but I'm personally happy of what I had time to do
BTW the game you and your team have submitted is a pure hell fireπ₯π₯π₯!
What a cool loop game! I love deck-building and this one can be polished to make a cool roguelite deck-building like Slay the Spire. Respect++.
Hehe, thank you! I was really inspired by Slay the Spire and its free Downfall mod. Truly one of the best game of all time
Really cool design and overall feel, would love to see this expanded. Great submission!
Thank you for playing and your kind review!
ooo I was so sad when it ended!! Would love an expansion with more cards!
Thank you for playing
frogcerealboy2! I had many card ideas plus folks here came up with tons of cool stuff too! Unfortunately, the jam's time was too limitedπΏThis is a neat concept - I think the only thing holding back my enjoyment is something likely outside the scope of the jam, which is some amount of preview of how my little card machine is going to run. Since the enemy and you take turns it's kinda hard to hold in mind the exact order (so maybe just serialize the whole thing instead of 2 distinct lines of cards)?
Solid idea that could def be expanded into a longer form game!
You're π― right! I really wanted to make previews especially for reverse & multiplier cards (so that the next card gets drawn in a special way or like in Slay the Spire attack numbers would dynamically change on a card). I even had cards developed to support this - but alas the time ran out.
Thank you for playing and congrats on making such a fun game yourself! πΆπΆπΆπΆπ¦
Such a good game, I wish there were more levels!
Big thank you for playing the game! I had lots and lots of ideas but decided to stick with simpler and more refined encounters. But yeah, if you're a card & puzzle games veteran, it might feel pretty short ππ
Cool game! Enjoyed it, gameplay loop is quite simple, but very interesting. Last enemy was real though level :D
Good job!
Thank you, fellow card-game dev πππ!
For the last level I wanted something special but it turned out to be slightly of a guessing game rather than a proper strategy. Again, happy you had some fun!
Nice concept, I really liked it! Also I really like the mood of the game!
TBH I didn't plan for this atmosphere from the beginning but it seemed to work out eventually. Glad you liked! Appreciate playing the game!
