ooo I was so sad when it ended!!  Would love an expansion with more cards!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing frogcerealboy2! I had many card ideas plus folks here came up with tons of cool stuff too! Unfortunately, the jam's time was too limited😿

This is a neat concept - I think the only thing holding back my enjoyment is something likely outside the scope of the jam, which is some amount of preview of how my little card machine is going to run. Since the enemy and you take turns it's kinda hard to hold in mind the exact order (so maybe just serialize the whole thing instead of 2 distinct lines of cards)?

Solid idea that could def be expanded into a longer form game!

Developer

You're 💯 right! I really wanted to make previews especially for reverse & multiplier cards (so that the next card gets drawn in a special way or like in Slay the Spire attack numbers would dynamically change on a card). I even had cards developed to support this - but alas the time ran out.
Thank you for playing and congrats on making such a fun game yourself! 👶👶👶👶🦍

Such a good game, I wish there were more levels!

Developer

Big thank you for playing the game! I had lots and lots of ideas but decided to stick with simpler and more refined encounters. But yeah, if you're a card & puzzle games veteran, it might feel pretty short 👉👈

Cool game! Enjoyed it, gameplay loop is quite simple, but very interesting. Last enemy was real though level :D

Good job!

Developer

Thank you, fellow card-game dev 🃏🃏🃏!
For the last level I wanted something special but it turned out to be slightly of a guessing game rather than a proper strategy. Again, happy you had some fun!

Nice concept, I really liked it! Also I really like the mood of the game!

Developer

TBH I didn't plan for this atmosphere from the beginning but it seemed to work out eventually. Glad you liked! Appreciate playing the game!

Submitted

Love that kind of concept, the mix between a "programmation game" and a puzzle work really well ! Would love to see a more polished a complete version of it :)

Developer

I'm glad the game was to your liking! Thank you for playing! 🔫🤠

Submitted

Really neat concept! The drip-feeding of mechanics was really well paced, gave me a solid sense of progression out of the gate. Thanks!

Developer

Happy to hear you didn't get overwhelmed!
Really appreciate you playing the game!

Brilliant game! I loved the idea! Made me think and plan carefully. I beat almost every enemy on the first try :D The reverse card was very interesting! Very cool card mechanics overall, and nice visuals <3

Developer(+1)

I'm really happy you enjoyed it! That card is my fav too, had a lot of fun designing encounters around it

As a card game enthusiast I find this an excellent submission to the jam.  Added to collection, hope you expand on this because I would genuinely love to play a polished, expanded version of this game.

Developer

Big thanks! ♥️♠️♦️♣️

had that "a-ha!" moment with the mimic. amazing game, imaging if there were multiple tracks that loops could de rail into or time paradoxes that need to be avoided. A lot of potential, very nice. SFX are cool

Developer

This is such a nice thing to hear! Thank you for playing the game!
The ideas are fire🔥 Wish they have given us like a second round to implement suggestions from reviewers. I would definitely be interested in such second tour where devs improve games in certain areas based on feedback.

An interesting idea. I also considered a "what if you made infinites in a dedckbuilder" and it's nice to see that executed well! It was a little unintuitive that the blank spaces counted as sequential turns when fighting the mimic, but the hint system was helpful for figuring this out. Nice submission!

Developer(+1)

Really grateful you made it this far! Thank you!

P.S. soon will check your game too, it looks amazing from the screenshots!

Great game! Very easy to get into but deep. Could be easily expanded into a full roguelike deckbuilder.

Developer

I was a little worried that I didn't add any tutorial (unlike you did!) but it's great that you figured it out! Thank you!

Submitted

Really liked this one, good to see other deckbuilders!

Developer

Oh yes, it's so interesting to play card games this jam, they introduce so many twists (like your submission!)
I wish itch had a better filter for jam submissions by genre. So hard to find such games
Thank your for playing! 😉

Great concept, enjoyed 10/10

Developer

Thank you for playing and for the kind words!

Top game

Thank you for playing!

Lovely gameplay loop, felt very fun to solve the puzzles and figure out the tricks! Looks lovely too

Developer

I really appreciate you finding time to crack the tricks! Thanks!

Expected a roguelike deckbuilder but got a much more creative game instead

Developer(+1)

IMO, roguelike is a much greater effort for the game jam considering how little people are going to replay it, so it's better to focus on a more streamlined experience
Thank you for finding time to play the game!

Expected a deckbuilder, but got a fun puzzle game instead.

Developer

Thank you for playing! The idea changed the direction down the way 🫣

Love it, even though I suck at card mechanics! Simple but effective design and art, and seems to run great. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

"seems to run great" - I did try to optimize it 🤓
Thank you for playing & noticing!

Submitted

This game is actually really fun! Great work

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed your time!
